Right click on the file (in explorer itself) -> Open With... -> Choose any program you want -> Put flag to use this program everytime

Yes, an FMOD is really just a fancy archive like any other compressed folder.  It does however have an extra file under it (FMOD) which gives some instructions. You don't need to install that manually but it really shouldn't harm anything if you do.

I reinstalled it 4 times now and it wont launch at all.

Temp files might need to be cleaned. CCleaner to make sure there is enough space for it to work. Common issue with FOMM.

Never had it installed in Program section. Might be the cause?

The only time I ever had an issue with the manager was when my temp files were too full.

Have you installed FOMM in program files, or Fallout New Vegas too. If so, you'll need to 'move' Fallout New Vegas and FOMM. Stupid windows 'protects' the applications in Program Files, thereby breaking mods.

yeah its in 86, been there since 2015. I know it doesnt belong there and

I was planning to reinstall but then I got caught up making stuff and learning

so I put off the move. none of my stuff is broken FOMM just crashes

when I want to use package manager

Try opening up 7zip and then accessing the file inside of there.  That's what I did to extract the files.

Sooo, I got the Sexout to work, but now every time I try to go through a zone/door it goes black and takes like 5 minutes to load.  I have tried to drop game down to pure vanilla to see if it's this mod or one the others conflicting and it still did it.  Is there some bug with this or is there something i'm missing?

You  might have some issues with your install or tools (NVSE etc) If you run vanilla, it should work fine.  You can also have some crude or such stuck in the files from other install and installations depending on how many times you have modified yoru game and how old your install is. Finally it could be a game requirement that is missing or corrupted. Things that happen with basic game. It shouldn't be any of the mods you have installed provided you uninstalled all of them and none of them remain in the game folders.

Chances are your temp folder is full. Empty it.

(CCleaner for example... or manually there is info on the web to do this)

You also have it in program files...

C:\Program Files\R.G. Mechanics\Fallout New Vegas - Ultimate Edition\FOMM\fomm.exe

It is deep in files... (many folders) I usually just put it either in the Steam folder (main folder with the Fallout New Vegas .exe or just C:\FOMM

 

Also you just killed some viewers with that wall of text Try using the spoiler for those in the future... (the eye in the tool bar above)

 

Other than that I can't help you. I am assuming you are using the one listed there. Perhaps there are some around that can read that error code to help. If not in a day or 2 try posting a new tech support thread on the subject (as some might not look h ere. or see the issue) and try again.

Thanks for the tip, any chance you know I there's a work around cause all I really need is the Mod Configuration menu and will that really be rliant on just the FOMM?

It would be great if this was updated to use LOOT instead of the obsolete BOSS. This is the sole reason I switched to NiveusEverto's FOMM Fork  (nexus newvegas 54991).

That FOMM is the updated version, so it wasn't a bad idea to switch to that.

I assumed that it wasn't because, in his recent update to NVSE NX, Prideslayer advises to use his own FOMM build.

Probably the advise was old, because both FOMM versions can install NVSE dlls if (and only if) the package contains an installation script, otherwise they just drop the dlls inside the Data\ folder.

I think he refers to the original FOMM. I can be wrong but I remember NiveusEverto was the one who made the forked FOMM with Prideslayer, the former was handling it on nexus and the latter here in LL.

I cant seem to uninstall a fomod the fmm crashes every time and I tried deleting fmm and reinstalling it but nothing fixes this.
