I haven't encountered this bug. if you need some help troubleshooting, try these steps to do a CLEAN reinstall:
- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

I don't know if I've actually done anything, but stick this in the events folder and replace the old one with it. See what happens. IDK

Hey man, I'm having some issues with the mod. Might it be possible to add

Or something like it to all the custom traits but especially the more out there and impactful traits this mod adds by default? I'm really not too well versed at modding, though. The problem I'm running into is that, with the increased trait limit and budget, all the AI races have just a jumble of different lv traits, usually at least one of which reduces pop output for everything except lv jobs by -50%. I can add the AI modifiers myself, and have done so, but it might enhance the overall feel of the mod if not every randomly generated race is sex-obsessed disease breeders with dicknipples or similarly strange combinations?


That aside, I'm running into a very weird issue. A bunch of the traits just aren't showing up in the race trait creation window. For example Ovipositor, the various mono-gender traits, or brood parasite. See the screenshot. The race only has the aquatic trait, and yet a lot of options are missing there. Seems to somehow have been broken by the most recent game patch, because I absolutely recall them being there last I played in January or so. Heck, I still have saved races that used to be mono gender and now are just missing that option and have free trait points.

Just checked by digging up my old mod folder from a secondary drive, and the traits show up just fine when I slot the old mod (from half a year ago or so) into the game folder. But if I do a fresh download of the mod as is and try and use it, it's the screenshot.

breeder hips has double "species_potential_add = {" which makes the trait not close and probs breaks the rest of them

My favorite of Calcifire's species (Mimic) didn't have enough variation for me, so I decided to flex my completely nonexistent artistic ability and slapped together some edits.

I hadn't been holding onto this for very long, but sharing it now seems like a good occasion.

 

I don't have much to say about it other than I am working on a new artistic project. And yes- that does mean that the loathsome day that I've mentioned about in the past has finally arrived. I will continue to supply technical support for the portrait pack, rest assured, but don't expect any REAL future content to be on the horizon. I still poke my head around in these forums regularly, so this isn't a statement of going inactive, I'm just pouring my creative energy into a new direction. All in all, I'm actually really happy with what I've produced. Writing the code for dynamic species portraits is probably what I'm most proud of, not to mention the 80+ species. GODDAMN, son.

 

Anyway, back to the pic. Just like how the Portrait Pack spent YEARS being secretly developed without so much as a peep, this new endeavor won't be any different. I don't expect to released any more information until I know what I have is solid, but like... I do feel as though I owe it to everyone to at least mention I'm about to be going dark. So yeh, new lewd project... Stellaris inspired... Nothing more to announce as of yet... Not for a long time anyways.

 

Thanks, everyone, and THANK YOU to everyone who donated. The reception was awesome. I remember being so nervous about it on launch night that I spent almost four hours just nervously hovering over the "submit" button, double checking and triple checking my work. It's been a pleasure, y'all. Cheers!

Thanks for your work, m8. I genuinely only started playing Stellaris again because I stumbled upon your portraits, was immediately impressed, and then was even further impressed after finishing a game using them. I wouldn't be bothering with Overlord or any of the other x-pacs I skipped over otherwise.

Thanks for the mod, good luck on your next project! I hope you've still got an eye on this place: I'm having a small issue where the galaxy hair intergalactic species is spawning elf humanoid portrait leaders, for some reason. Pops are fine, and the first ruler I generate has the correct galaxy hair portrait, but if I'm running an election my opposition are all elves.

Love the updates, but I noticed that The Imperial Fiefdom race is spawning in as invisible for me, instead of spawning as their proper picture, and instead use what ever the last picture was.

Dunno what was causing it, but when I remade the .txt from scratch, it's working again. Fix is now live.

Good stuff~ also noticed going through the portraits. Angel (avians) have coding for Male 5 and 6, but only have pictures for Males 1 2 3 and 4. Also appeciating some of the boys. *snickers in Lizardfan* Now to just make a femboy Owl megacorp called Femboy Hooters.

Hey I kind of accidentally deleted the Director's Cut version for 3.2 but I really, really want to finish my game (which is in 3.2 if that wasn't clear) before switching to 3.4 so I was wondering if it would be possible for me to obtain the 3.2 version again... On a totally unrelated side note, I really like this mod and I hope this new project will be as interesting and as exciting as this one is.
