Have you checked out Shokuho at all?

I played the 'Warband version' of that one named Gekokujo. I ended up taking the entirety of Japan for the Shimazu clan almost by myself. Yes, I had a large army, but it was only my army that was actively pushing/attacking; All the NPC armies just sat around defending already held territory.

When all was land was taken, I was just sitting there thinking; What the hell do I do now? As there was no more wars to be fought, no more battles to be had.

In peace, there is nothing but boredom.

Shimazu is also my clan of choice. I tend to stock my army with mostly Teppo Marksmen in Shokuho for the black powder action. I highly recommend you check it out if you enjoyed Gekokujo. The Bannerlord version required is 1.2.12.

The mod developers put in the quite a bit of work to create their own naval warfare which turned out a lot better than I expected. They also incorporated destructible buildings during sieges. Several compatibility patches for emersion building mods have popped up on Nexus, like Fourberie to sweeten the experience. I think they put in roughly 5+ years.

Something I found quaint in the Empires of Europe overhauls is a 'retreat' you can enter at a monastery in the Alps and essentially end your game. It's an interesting alternative to just running around with nothing to do after you've gone and conquered the world. Without war, life has no meaning in Bannerlord. 🥺

Well, I quit playing Bannerlord, and blacklisted TaleWorlds, very early in the 'Early Access' version; When TW started adding unneeded nerfs to the Arena, but still had a completely broken trade system. Then perma-banned people from the Steam hub for single posts with a certain video* for "spam".

It's like, really? If they don't like some dude that criticized their game, fine. But criticism is not spam. And it's no where near being a 'good enough' reason to permanently boot people from the Steam community hub.

Cold as ice, next time please send it to Antarctica as a refrigerant. We usually call that "Brain Teasers" or just "Cold Jokes"

Soviet Joke
Someone on a Moscow street yelled, "Brezhnev is a donkey!"
Five minutes later, he was sentenced to 15 years—two years for insulting the leader and 13 years for leaking state secrets.

Not a bad joke. Maybe it qualifies as a "dad joke."

Awe man! I love The Spiffing Brit! Had no idea he got perma-banned. That is unfortunate. If they watched any of his videos they would understand that breaking games kinda is his whole shtick. :/  He has some great videos on Kingdom Come Deliverance as well and the Oblivion remaster that I've seen recently.

Totally fair to 'vote with the wallet'. I look at Shokuho as a separate entity than TaleWorlds and I justify that by just the sheer amount of time and effort plus the size of the development team of independent modders. I get cha though, you have good reasons for not playing.

Well, I don't know if he got banned on the Steam hub; But anyone who included that vid in a post complaining about the broken trade system, and unneeded arena nerfs, got hit with a perma-ban. Myself included.

TW was just not looking for the 'feedback' that they got. They wanted 'dick sucking fanboying', and they got 'Fix this bug, fix that bug'. So to punish everyone, they nerfed the hell out of the arena rewards, and perma-banned anyone who brought up that vid series as evidence. It was a literal shit show, as they went ban crazy. Guess they weren't fully ready to step out out of their 'Echo chamber'.

I'm playing Red Dead Redemption on PC. I've been wanting to play this game for a few years since finishing Red Dead Redemption 2. Since RDR is the actual sequel, I can finally find out what happens next in the story. It's a shame that R* did very little with the port. The game deserved an enhanced edition or a remake.

Over the past 30 days I played 320 hours of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition.

But now I'm just back to playing SimCasino, and becoming EA. Because at EA: "We see 'surprise mechanics' as completely ethical..." (when it's only virtual NPCs losing their life savings to our rigged gambling mechanics)

Welcome to Poverty. Poverty Casino: Where we take ya' for all you got.

I am not an employee of Electronic Arts. Everything said above about EA was in a mocking way, based on actual quotes made to the UK parliament from actual EA employees.

I have been playing Fear & Hunger, the game that it feels that RPG Maker was published to enable the existence of, be it because the game is well polished, because it is very niche focused or due to its adult content necessitating self publication.

Playing a bunch of 'TCG Card Shop Simulator' lately.

Needed a good 'time sink' to get through the holidays... I HATE the holidays!

I've been playing a few games back-to-back recently. I finished Maneater a little while ago. It's really fun and goofy. I've seen some people say that the story is lacking, but considering it's a game where you play as a big ass shark that causes mayhem and eats other apex predators, I'd say it's fine if the story takes a backseat to other things.

I gave Soul Calibur 3 a try after I found it on PS Plus. For a PS2 game, it looks great and I like the art direction. I also really appreciate all the extra content like the store and the character creation tool, and the single player modes really stand out even compared to modern fighting games. That said, the AI is bullshit. I don't normally play fighting games, so I thought I was just bad at the game. As it turns out, SC3's AI does input reading when determining what to do in a fight, and it's kinda notorious for being busted. It's one thing to have challenging AI to test your skills as a player, but making it so that it's more advantageous to use "anti AI" moves to get through a fight than stringing together combos takes all the fun out of the experience.

I most recently started playing Dead or Alive 5, and I've never laughed so much while playing a game. I've never played any of the other games in the series, so I had no idea who any of the characters are or why anything was happening. Shit would just happen and characters would just walk up to each other and start fighting with almost no preamble. Gameplay wise, it's pretty fun. Like I said, I don't really play fighting games, but I like the mechanics and it didn't feel like the game was going out of its way to fuck me over.

I been playing a lot of these oldies lately, as I'm kinda bored waiting for Star Wrath to release:

  • Freelancer
  • Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebelion
  • Baulders Gate: Dark Alliance II
  •  Civilization 5
  • Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath
  • Diablo 2
  • Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War: Soulstorm

I have been playing Terraria lately. Terraria can't seem to Keep It Simple Stupid which has been both something that I love yet despise. The team has been making game balancing updates yet at the same time the way they do Master Mode is overly complex and the execution of it feels sloppy. Even still I find gameplay in Terraria to be more engaging than say Minecraft.
