Excellent work as always JB. Slavers and Nuka Ride are hands down the best story mods I have cared to finish. They actually make me feel like my character is a person with a history and a past more than the vanilla intro ever could. The NR 6.5 alpha was very refreshing to play and I'm sad I've reached the end. I will look forward to your future work!

You have to use the invisible door "hidden" in order for it to work like a normal door.  That way you can use any static door or whatever, to make load doors. Handy for hidden doors in/on walls, stairs.... You can also use one in a door opening as a gateway into a bigger cell. You just copy the room on the far side into the new cell... you get it. LOL

Hello! Finally back from vacation. Tested the 6.5 + patch + Voice pack

 

I must say - it was a pleasant surprise. Of course, not everything went well (details below), but for an alpha it was really good. So I'll leave here some of the thoughts:

 

1. Congrats: you're moving closer and closer to a true RPG experience. RPG is about choices. You're starting to understand that choice means something impactful with consequences for actions. This whole new start branch is very well developed and has a ton of content. And all of that hinges on a simple response to a simple question in a single conversation. Bravo. And you even have another dialogue down the line where PC can choose to just not engage thus ending the quest. Double bravo. These are true choices, rarely seen in an RPG (like - imagine you could tell vanilla Gage after defeating Colter "nah, I'm not leading you guys, see ya - I'm out, back to the Commonwealth" or outright fight them because you hate raiders)

 

2. Subversion of expectation. The unexpected stuff really caught me off-guard. It was cool. Some NPCs not being what they are. Some NPCs "reused" from vanilla. OB's interjections, some distractions along the way. It makes it dynamic and keeps the interest high. The new start quests are probably one of the best you made so far. I guess this shouldn't be a surprise because you got all of the experience by now. Keep it up. More of this will make it even cooler.

 

What I'd really wish to add to the list of the choices:

a) Making it possible for a virgin PC to seduce OB during his scene with proposal to become his "pup" (preferably she does it without realizing it - just through the virtue of being too beautiful and not resisting OB's advances enough) - in which case the main quest just "fails" - OB takes PC as his own, takes her virginity and the Golden Globes kiss goodbye. Maybe in this scenario PC is still allowed to do radiant "OB's Bi" quests and is awarded the perk, but that's it = OB claims her as his own, full stop, no other men. This is probably the closest I would get to the hope of "OB being a real man and not putting up with others in his girl's panties!"

b) Making it possible for the PC to "fail" the main quest by agreeing to work on the farm and coming to terms with it (and maybe optionally convincing Sophie as well). It then would end the quest much the same way as returning to Vault 111 with Brett, but maybe leave the door open for doing radiant farm quests, like cooking dinner (that camera shot is amazing after all)

 

3. Stability. I think this was very decent considering this isn't even yet connected to the main part of the mod. I especially liked that navmeshes finally became good so there were almost no awkward path-finding and freezing when PC was controlled by a script to move "from point A to point B". Good stuff. From the bugs I found: there are still moments when the screen fails to fade back from black when PC is moved to a new location in some quests. I remember at least two instances: the one in the beginning when Sophie wants PC to climb to the roof for a talk and the one when PC serves in slave's clothes at Fizztop, when PC is to serve dishes. The "fix" is easy with console:

- however this might break some scene sequences thus requiring to manually progress quests stages (so, sqt + sqs + setstage to the rescue)

 

4. Compatibility. I guess it comes as no surprise that some mods aren't (fully) compatible. The biggest thing I found was the default dialogue scenes with NPCs weren't disabled - probably because I have Player Comments. Turning that one off helped a bit, but still - it would probably be good to check if you disable default convos on NPCs (like pack greeting PC as if she's the boss, Brett & Monique shunning PC to get off their property, etc). Dara was especially a tough cookie as she tried to give her vanilla quest to the PC.

 

5. Plot & characters consistency. I think I mostly enjoyed the plot choices and narration here - and I appreciated the new "traits" system which is smoothly integrated into the mod (i.e. no boring MCM menus, it's all immersive). What I think is a tad lagging behind here is the language. I realize it's quite a bit of work to write several lines for the same thing depending on PC's traits - yet at the same time mid-way through the quests PC is cursing like a drunken dock worker. It really doesn't suit a virgin spoiled rich girl who never had a kiss because her parents were protecting her from everything. It'd be cool to have at least two different versions of the dialogue lines where it counts - one default and one for the "gentle flower" type of PC girl.

 

Speaking of a "gentle flower" - I don't know if I did it wrong, but the last "bad guy" was simply unbeatable to me, I had to kill him via a console. My world is set up so that PC is helpless and can't even equip any weapons, nor gain XP (she's basically level 1), she could never beat even a mundane enemy and definitely not the one in a power armor. It could make sense to have an option of completing this otherwise, i.e. "talk him to death" RPG trope or something similar. Apart from this instance I found this new portion of the mod way more immersive and closer to what I have in the local build, i.e. a "scaredy cat innocent and submissive PC that never saw the wasteland" - I loved the bits where you give an option to portray her horror at witnessing Kellog murdering his "guest".  Somehow in original NR the PC is unfazed by all the corpses, viscera and murders around. Glad you are trying to fix it.

 

6. Traits. As I mentioned = great stuff! Not to "plug" it, but you could also use the AAF History mod to discover all the info you currently use - i.e. if PC kissed someone, if she had sex, etc. Then you could - first, only allow the appropriate choices in the dialogue, and - second, delegate keeping track of that to that mod. This way you will even be able to dynamically react on stuff like "she was a virgin before dialogue Z in NR" --> she had XXX somewhere --> "she can no longer claim she's a virgin in dialogues past point Z in NR" at absolutely no extra work on your end.

 

It'd be cool to have more traits, of course - or maybe playing out the current one better. Giving 3 different weapons to PC is a tad overwhelming. A barely 21/18/16/<or substitute with your country legal consent age> y.o. brat with no life experience, who's thrown in the horrible world she has never seen before for just some weeks - pulls a gun on a guy with a straight face and wins the intimidation contest? Yeah, no. Or at least, not with the "scaredy cat" trait if it was present (which can also be completely substituted with, say - FP attributes orientation score). I think there should be a way for PC to remain submissive, scared - yet overcome difficulties of the world with the methods that don't involve sex.. speaking of which -

 

7. "Sex" - great job again! It's odd to say that, but I enjoyed that not everything revolved around sex, far from it! It was really nice to see you dedicating so much screen time to character development, some backstories, etc. Nicely done. Not sure if you plan this - but seeing as it's possible to complete this whole section with PC not breaking her promise to OB to be "his girl", I hope you could expand it further and make her a loyal girl.

 

A cool option for the PC would also be the "natural talent" trait. That would mean that even if PC is a virgin, all of the sexual stuff is easy for her, she's "born for that", she "realizes she loves that". As such she's able to easily do very naughty stuff that not even "trained bi-s" can pull off without big effort. Why: umm.. personal preference. I don't like when girls are suffering (without consent) and PC's first scene with OB is really degrading because PC is not used to it (good on you on writing it that way, I mean - it's immersive. Just .. makes me a bit sad). To compensate for "easiness" in the psychological sense, it might be worth making it hard on PC in the physical sense. For instance - her "natural talent" also means she's always "very tight" making the stuff like "butt plug training" ineffective as her body doesn't loosen up. Just throwing some ideas.

 

Thanks for the release, I hope there's more to come. Oh, and before I forgot = please, let's have some "trait" or an option where OB recognizes PC's beauty? His "nah, you're nothing special, I've seen it 1000 times" was a letdown :/ Come on, she's a (very) special cookie, I didn't install 23 cosmetic mods and crafted her face over 2 years for nothing :) Let him be stunned (though he might try to hide his reaction).

 

And the outfits bodyslide is sort of broken. The top works, the bottom seems to be stuck in one shape (i.e. the butt and below sliders don't do anything on new outfits, the waist and above work just fine). Maybe it's my FG body mod issue - but all older NR outfits work just fine.

Also, it sets the stage for refilling your scooters fusion core, and a thing or two later on. So it's very integrated into the story.

And lets face it, William is a total idiot.

 

i kinda want to shoot him in the head with that rose shotgun that i got from commonwealth slavers after that scene, but considering he is basically a teleporter to goodneighbor i cant kill him... oh well... maybe i can kill him after the mod ended...

 

btw, how do you get actual food in nuka world? i been looking everywhere, it seems like i cant find anything more than iguana on stick or crispy squirrel bits... so i been just buying cup noodle from the porn studio... there are meat in the market, but nobody is selling meat... funny however, nuka world is kinda in a desert, but everyone is selling purified water...

I never talk to them anymore. I just head up to Acadia which completes Walk in the park and go from there.

You can actually complete FH after arriving via Nuka Ride. Just leave after the first conversation... and dood it! Once done, head into the Last Plank....

 

Now IF you just have to strictly follow the story line, use the console command to skip that part. I believe its

Just making a note for those reading this.  I've completed mod Nuka Ride on this playthrough, this is my first return to Far Harbor.  I'm lvl 98, and wanting to go to Far Harbor to continue the vanilla game...is when I discovered the Captain Avery disable thing a ma bob...

This is the fix that basically re-enables some npcs and some triggerboxes. Didn't you skip any stage using the guide? 

 

I will put this fix when you report to the OB in the apartment. In the meantime, write it down in the console.

Nice, thank you 😍 I remember your suggestion of a protagonist completely faithful to the OB - and with no one else - but it goes with the premise of the mod. 

 

But, yeah, as you said, I am learning to give options to the player. You can end this version with the girl completely chaste or you could give her some sexual experience, so I don't see that I can do something similar with the rest of the mod where she will be able to reject many approaches, though not all. She will go through the same vanila adventure, but a bit changed and probably softcore. 

 

In this version, the girl can only have sex with Keyshawn if she invites him to watch the training. Larsen and Brett are in on the plans as well. The three of them are rather meant for a rebellious route where the girl decides to do things her way. I was tempted to put OB as another candidate but I think he prioritizes Nuka Town/Golden Globes more than his personal whims and that's what makes him an interesting character.

 

But she can also have sex with Keyshawn/Larsen/Brett even as OB property. Right now there are no consequences, but in the next version there will be, like the OB kicking her out of his harem for breach of contract.  

 

RN the girl can make out with Keyshawn in her room, blow him and basically "play" with him, that will have no consequences. Basically it's up to each player because it is something very private and no one knows about it.  But losing her virginity will have importance. 

 

Maybe the true ending is too hidden. It's basically winning the third nightmare, telling Oswald you're going to talk it over with Ryder, and finally telling Ryder you want to talk, while you have the armor equipped. Not a single bullet fired.

Right now it's pure testing and I don't have a specific date, but everything is going smoothly. 

 

I've been tempted to start the audition after defeating Ryder, but I'd better stay true to the original idea and keep training with several repeatable missions.

I have a request, if and only if you think it's a good idea and not too difficult to accomplish.

While I appreciate being able to change the size of the Surgery augmentations, doing this in the Surgery Center afterwards, with the vision change and VFX effects is difficult.

I was playing Bimbos of Skyrim and there is a "Test on Player" function so one can adjust the body modifications to get the sliders where you want them. It only lasts for 15 seconds before reverting to normal body dimensions.

I would love to be able to set my Surgery adjustments outside the Surgery Center in normal light so I could get them exactly as I want, not "That's close enough" kind of thing.

Me having surgery on both my eyes doesn't help, for me the color shift is Painful, literally, but that is just light sensitivity.

Yeah this what I was thinking you were planning. I was wondering why those training things that everyone talked about after ending Ryder was not available after killing him. Am I correct in assuming you mean dancing at the pitstop, The maid job, anal training with daddy and working in the bar and working / hunting on the farm is what you are planning ? That would actually be cool if those were doable while you are working on integrating it into the main mod. One would assume a few quests in the main mod would have to be altered some.

Fair, my thought just was - "that's the sweetest thing of it!" - i.e. "making a serious, down to earth and pragmatic OB lose to his desires because PC is just too irresistible" - i.e. so much so that he "screws things up" and has his way with her regardless of Corsican's "contract". But of course, this shouldn't come without consequences:

1. This actually "ends" the quest with the Globes. No AV industry, PC becomes OB's girl. Only OB's girl quests (like serving a day for OB or maid work) are available after that. This also solves the dilemma of "how to make AV actress faithful to OB only" - because, well, PC gives up the AV completely. And it doesn't require extra work - apart from making the seduction scene, I guess.

2. It is only available for a virgin PC, so PC cannot allow herself to "have fun" with Keyshawn or whomever else. So, some (a lot of?) restraint is required

3. It garners her a huge jealousy from OB's existing women. OB didn't ever break contract for them nor did he treat them this nice. So maybe a quest or some scenes where they have some revenge on her or make her life hard?

- should also not be allowed if PC is to achieve this ending. PC should have everything "first" with OB. This is the "thrill" of it - and, I guess, as close as it's possible to get to the "romantic" relationship while still having some immersive OB who's not a foolish head over heels for a female type of guy. Btw, you have a great start when PC doesn't know a lot of sex-related things, it was really funny and wholesome to read her responses on what's obvious to OB (pertaining to certain type of sex). As a continuation - maybe make a "rich girl" unable to curse because she doesn't know "bad words" like shit/fucking/whore/slut/etc? Imagine OB yelling "you whore" / "you slut" at her and she's like "umm.. who's a whore?" / "what's a slut?" .. his brain melts down :D Basically a pure princess-type PC.

Again, this isn't mandatory at all - but with your willingness to end the quest early, I figured this could be the way to achieve a "loyal PC" route.

Yeah, my "scaredy cat" PC was not ready for "fire" and sent the nightmare on its way. Maybe that's why it didn't work.

Hello guys, I am doing this side mission at the start for the movie producer to pick up the motorcycle in Diamond city, but when i go back via that red robot I still get the quest to go back to Nuka world and it refers to the first place there in the station in the vanilla ( in the nuka world map). My load order is the last priority, is that correct? And I disabled AAF violate. Thank you for the mod it is amazing.  If anyone can help me I would appreciate it, thanks.

Sounds like the map marker is just wrong (that happens sometimes in vanilla fallout where it doesnt update)

 

Try going to the guy in the porn studio and seeing if you can turn it in

Hello I've been having an issue where I use the NukaDriver to go back to NukaWorld but it doesn't work properly and keeps trying to get me to go to the train station. Is there anyway to fix it?

Only wait 30 seconds but I think I'm going to block the mirror. If you use the mirror when the OB appears and wants to start his scene, that can be jammed.

I actually came back to reply to my comment, it worked. I just went to the producer and it worked. After that there is the Apollo quest, same problem, they need me to be a mule and go to Diamond city but point at the train station to go instead of kaizer, but I went to Kaizer and it worked too.  So basically just memorize where the robots are at and travel that way.  That said I would argue it is still an issue because you dont know where to go after that, you have to guess based on the context. I dont know where Nisha is now. I am looking for her and cannot find her. Thank you so much.

I would like to add for other people who didn't find a straight solution, you can do console command ShowQuestObjectives questID  and see what you are supposed to do next since there is no pointer anymore. What I did with that fucking skank Nisha is that I went back to the save pressed console pressed on her got her ID, then  went  back to my future save and Player.MoveTo whateverherfuckingIDis  stupid skank was outside. None of the reference in the help "nisha" 0 works, this worked.

when doing the Apollo mission when you have to go back to Nisha, the Nuka-Tron puts you outside right by Nisha.

she is just outside arms reach and visible where you appear at (she can be mistaken for a regular raider easily due to the helmet she wears).

Thanks, I found her my way. But it is really funny how I actually saw her it was dark weather and I thought it was a normal npc. Thanks!
