InsolentTedium Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 What constitutes for you an Immersive or Realistic Game? What Mods do you use to achieve this? Mine are: Archery Gameplay Overhaul -adds dynamic and more realistic Archery Aurochs and Wild Horses, Deer Expansion, Rhino's of Skyrim, Real Megaloceros of Skyrim -yes, I know Nirn is a fantasy world, but given the feel of time frame (in relation to Earth), such animals feel fitting. Basic camp Gear (or any Camp Gear Mod really) -this should have been in the vanilla Game Bells of Skyrim -Skyrim is a dangerous land, it makes sense there would be a warning system in Towns and Cities CACO -adds Water and the ability to collect and carry it, pick more than one flower when harvesting, antiseptics, etc... CBBE with Physics -women's boobs pounce, I'm a woman, I should know this Clean Up Your Corpses -depending on the character you play, this gives numerous options for reactions to death around him/her, whether that character is dark, heroic, caring, etc... Destroy the Thieves Guild -this should have been in vanilla Skyrim Dirt and Blood -adds blood/dirt to your character, as s/he traverses Skyrim, but Soap is no longer needed to wash it off and rain and swimming can also clean it off Do You Know Who I Am -for all you do in Skyrim, but no one is aware and treat you like a noobie? Enhanced Blood Textures -people bleed extensively when they're badly wounded or their head is chopped off Enter The College of Winterhold Without Joining -this should have been in vanilla Skyrim, not everyone is a Mage Experience Multipliers -I find it difficult to believe that a grown young man or woman alone has managed to survive up to that age of Game start with no prior experience. Given my personal interest in both Indigenous Cultures and Pre-Industrial age Civilizations, I know the no experience Dovah begun with is a load of hooey and impossible. Extended Encounters, Immersive Patrols, Skyrim Unhinged (or any extra NPC and encounter Mods) -Skyrim is an empty place, could wipe out all the civilians, etc...in the space of a few weeks if this were real life. Faction Fixes -Bandits throwing fits at Mud Crabs while you're filling those same Bandits with arrows? O.o Fewer Predators -Prey animals always vastly outweigh predator animals in the wilds, if this weren't so, predators would all be busy starving to death, especially given the average hunt success is only about 20%-30%...Plus predators are not generally psycho killing machines which Bethesda seems to think they are, Skytest seems to think the same despite their realism claims. Gallows of Skyrim, Justice, Skyrims Dead and Public Executions -Skyimr is a tough unforgiving world, on top of that is gripped in War, as all is showcased at the beginning of the vanilla start. Guard Dialog Overhaul -the Guards are idiots, this helps change that fact. Hunterborn -such skills take time and practice, plus an animal will provide more than one lump of meat and a pelt Hunters Not Bandits -yelling at a Deer won't help the hunt Immersive Interactions -this should have been in vanilla Skyrim Improved bandits -it makes more sense to me, desperate or violent people won't be rolling in the latest greatest Armors, or even matching sets and are smarter than the average vanilla Skyirm Bandit. Inn Room Costs -in vanilla it cost more for a Stew and a Mead O.o KJR's Height Adjustment (or other such Mod) -different races or species have varying heights and builds Lanterns of Skyrim -not necessarily realism per se', but is a realistic show at some attempt to create a more co-joined Land Less Sniper Like NPC's -not every Bandit is an expert archer now Leviathan Animations (or other such Animation Mod) -so your Dovah no longer stands there like a gorilla Light Weight Head tracking and Emotions -Dovah no longer just stares straight ahead, but actually see's the world and people around him/her Living off the Land -used to create realistic essentials for your Dovah, such as Bandages, Scent Masks and nutritionally dense foods, such as Marrow and animal Fats, plus more...And used beside CACO, with CACO's introduction of Antiseptics and such....No more Magic or Potion Healing in Battle, bringing the need to break from Battle and find a safe place to apply Antiseptics, Bandages, etc... to heal Maximum Carnage -battle is gruesome and creates gruesome wounds No Spinning Death Animation -no need to dance when you die NPC Mage Balance Fix and Less Magic in Skyrim -NPC Mages have a Mana pool, they can use it up. I also use Less Magic in Skyrim, makes Magic a lot rarer and more specialized. Obsidian Weathers and Seasons (or any Weather Mod) -Realistic Weathers and Seasons One With Nature -no more ridiculously and psychotically aggressive Crabs, Skeevers, Ash Hoppers, Wolves, Bears, etc... Paulicus Poison Block -if you manage to block and arrow or sword, etc... then you also block any poisons on them Relationship Dialog Overhaul -should have been in the vanilla Skyrim Sexlab Jail Rape -a cold harsh swift justice (whether fair or unfair world), Guards are going to be dirty Sexlab Solutions (depending on the kind of character you play) -cold harsh cruel world, many would take advantage, so can your Dovah now Sexlab Submit (again the kind of character you play, I use it for the persuasion/intimidation sex options, my character is not the marrying kind) -and again fits the feel of the Skyrim world, or just a persuasive b*stard and worse Simple Leather Backpack (or any Backpack Mod) -where does your Dovah carry his/her loot and other odd bods? Up his/her butt? O.o Skyrim Battle Aftermath -there's a War going on, why is there no sign of this? Skyrim Reputation -nobody has noticed what you're up to? Good or bad SL Defeat -truth is, in battle there is rape, it's life Smilodon Combat in Skyrim and Ultimate Combat -NPC's are no longer idiot arrow/sword sponges, they fight back with some brain matter Smithing Oils -I do use alchemical Poisons also (which are entirely realistic), I use this one primarily for a way to explain my Dovah's resistance to fire, etc... Sneak Animation -no derpy arm flay sneak animation Sneak Tools -I don't use the masks, Cowl or Shop...this is for some of the Arrows (the realistic ones) and the throat cuts Storm Lightning for SSE -violent Lightning Storms can be dangerous Stronger Swimming Animation -Dovah can simply swim Super Fast Get Up -when you're in danger you're not going to be rolling around on the ground for five minutes, you will MOVE The Choice is Yours -Dovah has choices TK Dodge -a fit and battle knowledgeable soul will dodge (I used to do Ninjukai Taijutsui, one of the first things we learned was rolls) True Storms -because real Storms happen Windy Grass -need I explain? Winter is Coming -Skyrim is a cold place, even for someone who's grown up there Honourable mentions to SOS, Wet and Cold, Frostfall and Footsteps, I don't personally use them due to keeping my scripting Mod's down to a dull roar, but I certainly recognize them for what they do and respect them. And Bandoliers, I don't use that because I'm vain about me Dovah ...and they use some of the same slots his earrings use, that's all I haven't found a single Survival Mod I agree with, none so far have been realistic, Realistic Needs and Diseases, iNeed, Sunhelm, etc...Stamina Mods, building muscle Mods, etc... I find they are all based on western city life experience...it reminds me of a Book I have, it's on Games Indigenous children of the America's used to play, the Author had to tone down a number of the Games for children to play today, as they would be too tough, dangerous and physically demanding for today's kids, I find that very interesting...that being said I think says a lot about what a human could handle in Skyrim that we as a general populace would not even be able to begin to fathom, same goes for stamina, knowing of people who once ran for days without rest and they could. Plus how long a soul can go without food without ill effects and how our stomach bacteria has changed and leaves us much more open to such things as the Food poisoning, etc... and what we can and cannot safely eat, I see the people of Skyrim and their lifestyles much more in tune with what once was in our own societies, rather than the now...thus no interest in these Mods. Finished my rant about what annoys me about the Survival Mods What Mods do you use to achieve Realism or Immersion? Gives me a chance to see if there's any Gems I have missed too

belegost Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 I used to strive for "immersive" in the past. I used to use only "realistic" looking armor and weapon mods, even toning down magic wherever I could. Then I discovered SexLab Framework exists and all of that went out the window faster than Nazeem saying "Do you get to the Cloud District very often?"

Cornoholio Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Hm. This is for fantasizing about after all. I don't like the whole "Slaverun Reloaded" fantasy thing (though as far as those are concerned that one is propably the best). I like my Latex, but "The Rubber-Facility" is over the top. I had my share of the full LOTR/Westeros modding experience, these days I go for game stability and things that go just a little bit beyond immersive realism. "Laura's Bondage-Shop" would be a fine example, or propably the best: Submissive Lola. Armors and outfits... I'd love to have something just a little less sexualized and loaded than the Book of UUNP, but it will do the job and works well. No "Milking the human cow" or "anime catgirl with floating hair and magic skirt, nya" things either, thanks. I want to keep the game running and "suspension of scenario-disbelief" going along. Dom and Sub explore their world, and thanks to mods for this game there is no such thing as chafing, dehydration or the monthly visitor. Creating a char that looks decent, finding a few followers to entertain (like Somolligs ones on Nexus), populating the world... Horrible Harrasment is fun, as is BakaFactorys population and dialogue. Of course adding in the materials, DD, cursed Loot for the key, LOLA, Dripping when Arroused (gotta love that heavy breathing)... You get the idea. It's a fantasy world, going over the top of realism is fun and basically the entire point of it. Everybody knows "Sunstone" here I bet... basically I allow Lisa to switch into Lisbeth at times in this game. Owner tattoo? You bet. Fetish maid? Meh, most I found are over the top or look like they came out of a cheap costume shop, and that's basically the entire problem I try to solve in m,odding the game. Turn it up just to the right number without going over the top. Creating a char that's beautiful yet realistic, but doesn't ever need to re-apply her makeup or go to the bathroom. I'd love a BDSM-oriented dialogue dynamic in this game. Lola comes close, but... internally debating whether to safeword for example. There's Lola's thought-dynamic and costumization in full splendor, and the custom confessions. That kind of thing. And since it's just a game you can have the domme reject the safewording on occasion, or exceeding the limit just a tiny bit. (and no, I am perfectly aware that this is NOT real life. I'm not a fucking rapist.) In the game you can ride the edge, you can visualize phantasizing. That's the point, at least for me. Oh, and I'd recommend playing this game with your partner, that opens an entirely new mental venue for the both of you. Unfortunately you cannot simply switch perspective here, setting up the game and mods for a dominant ionstead of a sub (at least in my experience) requires a total re-install. Sorry for the rambling.
chaimhewast Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 For immersion, I tend to go for things that make the world feel more alive or consistent. Looking over my current modlists, the mods I would say add to immersion are: Bathing in Skyrim with Monoman's patch - I like seeing my character getting dirty over time, and Monoman's patch lets washing via BiS apply to other ways your character can get dirty. Cathedral/Obsidian Weathers and Seasons - These give more sense to the weather patterns, and also means you can see snow in the southern parts of Skyrim during the winter months. Frostfall - Seasons - Similar to how the above mods make weather seasonal, this adds seasonal variation in temperature. Better prepare carefully if you intend to visit the College of Winterhold in the winter. Point the Way - More road signs! Very handy if you don't want to be constantly consulting your map or following a waypoint on your compass. Sexlab Auto Vanilla Voices - This automatically assigns Sexlab voices from Sexlab Vanilla Voices to NPCs based on their voice type. Sexlab Survival - Lots of stuff in this one that's there to make it harder for the player, but it has some immersive features. Most of them are related to sex (needs mods and Frostfall integrations), but it also makes it so you can't use your map or compass without a "map and compass" item (those signs from Point the Way come in handy!) and alters how much sleep you can get based on things like what you're sleeping on, what you're wearing, where you are, etc. YPS Fashion with Monoman's patch - Mostly because it lets your hair grow. Allowing other mods to play with that is just a nice side-effect. That said, as much as I love SLS's map feature, it highlights something I wish were possible in Skyrim - a map that doesn't tell you where you are. You either have a map that zooms to your location when you open it and has a button you can push to go back to there, or you have no way to look at it. Nothing in between.

Yes, I also pull up myself well short of the whole Westeros sort of experience, as you say, stability first and things that just go too far beyond, there are a handful of immersive Mods I like the sound of, but I can just RP without them, not needing the warnings (or scripts) in the background to tell me sleep, rugging up and hunkering down or drinking water are essential, I can RP such things myself. I certainly hear you on that. I prefer simple Mods, without too many add-ons or bells and whistles to achieve close to the same end without CTD's, only if it's something I can't RP without what the Mod adds, good examples being the Bandages or ingredients/harvesting amounts. I like Horrible Harassment myself (and Aroused,etc...) when I'm playing a female Dovah and a few other Mods here on LL that put her in a misogynistic world, where she always needs to be on guard and is never really safe, could easily be raped, enslaved, etc... When I'm playing a male Dovah (as I am now), then he becomes the aggressor, I don't bother with the enslavement Mods when playing him (his RP is a born Werewolf who lives on humanoid flesh, an extreme predator and fairly feral, a very amoral character, more wolf with a wolfish mind than man, his brutal), he certainly does combat rape though and stealth rape citizens on occasion. Yes, it takes and almost complete Mod rebuild for me to swap between characters also and on occasion a total rebuild, which I just had to recently do, because yes, my last game was a female Dovah. I haven't checked out BakaFactory, but I hear a lot about it, I need to check it out before I play a new game I think, I only hear good things about his Mods. I have never heard of SunStone, will need to see what you're talking about Yes, the costumes, clothes, etc...there is a revealing Armors Mod on Nexus I use for female Dovah's, I'm trying to remember the name of it, I don't use all the Armors in it and don't use it as a replacer, but there are a couple that walk the fine line between belief and disbelief, rustic and armor enough looking to fit, but revealing enough to say why would you? Yes, I like beautiful female Dovah's and handsome male Dovah's, but still looking realistic and more than possible. Hubby doesn't play Skyrim, he prefers his MMO, I think my Skyrim scares him too lol... I like tough combat that really needs to be thought through to survive, can't just sword and board your way through, needs patience and strategy, hubby prefers charging in with guns blazing ...He does like to see what I'm up to with my Game though and likes watching my battles and hearing my stories, he much prefers my feral Werewolf Dovah man over females I play though (he finds him fascinating) and if my Dovah's are having sex, hubby finds it titillating and comes and watches lol No problem on rambling, as you can see I'm prone to it myself lol...Thank you for such a detailed response, I really enjoyed reading it

Thank you ...You have me taking a good look at Monoman's Patches, Sexlab Auto Vanilla Voices and Sexlab Survival, very interested Yes, I love a good Weather and Seasons Mod too, I was using Cathedral, but then wanted to build a grim dark Game and so moved onto Obsidian, I feel both are high class Mods and love them both ...You have me looking at Point the Way also, I changed a lot in my Skyrim for the grim dark play, removed most of the Trees and added Northern Grasses, between them they have changed the world so much I often wonder where in the hell am I? lol...the world is unrecognizable now, more road signs would definitely help, I currently keep getting lost. That scares me about Sexlab Survival lol, but that would be for another playthrough, as I am playing an alpha male Dovah at the moment. I like Frostfall, but haven't used it due to the scripts, I try to keep scripts to a fairly dull roar, but yeah, I certainly respect Frostfall. For the bathing I use Blood and Dirt, it looks like to a very similar end to what you get with Bathing in Skyrim and the Patch. Thank you for sharing your list ...I think you have some gems there and has me snooping through them
Grey Cloud Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 My game is the antithesis of realistic or immersive in the 'traditional' sense. It is summer all the time. There are no changes in the weather. I don't sleep or eat. There are no dragons or vampires. Most of the vanilla quests etc. are turned off. Falmer, chaurus, draugr, Forsworn and some others are non-hostile. Combat is vanilla as far as I remember. I use Summermyst but I don't don't really do much with magic. My Skyrim is sun, sex and skooma. ?

Sunstone first I'd think. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunstone_(comics) https://www.deviantart.com/shiniez Taught me a lot, that one... a great many years back that was the thing that explained quite a few things for me and provided quite a lot of mental fodder. MMO never was the thing for me, other than world of warships( gotta love a good battle) and the like... but I do like my fantasizing. I might be male, but that's one thing I understand about women, fantasizing erotically is something that's really fucking enjoyable, especially while engaged. And manipulating those fantasies to something I can do to them is fun for me. As for the heavier ideas though: anything non-consensual is a complete turnoff for me... but to each his/her own.

? I often check out the "What are you doing in Skyrim right now" thread and so am not surprised at all at what you say here ...I have seen many of your pics Oh, by the way, I have been playing with the SSEEdit, I ended up dropping Hydra's Slaves, there was just way too much I wanted to change in the Mod, but I have removed content from other Mods using the SSEEdit and have been successful ...I'm about to go back in today as there is one Mod I'm using I want to remove an element from, plus am going to see if I can do anything to the vanilla Gauldur Amulet using SSEEdit, I want to change what it does.

I will show hubby Sunstone, he may like it, it's more down his alley than mine. I'm a very hetero female, ManCandy is my thing lol...I saw a BDSM act in real life once (long story lol), it did nothing for me personally, but I get why people like it ...I don't know Warships, I did play Battlefield for a time and have played ESO with hubby, that's his go to Game, but I prefer SP also. Nothing wrong with anyone fantasizing ...whether man or woman, it helps blow off steam and yes, very enjoyable ...My own fantasy's are not violent either, baut as you say, each to their own

There are a few mods I use but the main two are: Timing Is Everything https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38151 and The Choice Is Yours. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26359 (both LE) Skyrim Unbound is an alternative to AS LAL which allows you to circumvent the Helgen dragon thing altogether. The Helgen dragon thing is the one area of my game which I don't like. I could use Unbound but I like all the alternative starts and the character creation of AS LAL so I have to either give up on that part of the map (around Fort Neugrad etc.) or tip-toe around Helgen making sure I don't trigger the dragon. Just remembered that there is also Helgen Reborn but I can't remember what that does exactly.

A quick tip: It's easy to forget that the esp is edited and if you uninstall the mod the edited esp gets removed, so make a backup of the edited esp or copy it back into the mod archive.

I decided after reading about lazy users lol...I need to not be and just finished backing up the changed Mods ...Just a quick question please, I just went into my Mod Manager and copied the Mods and moved those copies to another file, is that how its done?

It doesn't stop the dragon quests, in fact you HAVE to activate the whole main quest in order to do anything with this mod, otherwise nothing happens. I've been using that for a couple of years, but these days it stays out of my load order. It was fun to go through once but that's it. The mid-quest slog you have to go through to finish it is not worth it once you know what's next. Plus it doesn't play all that well with Frostfall, plus the NPC's in there are plain ugly vanilla and I have not found any overhaul that would make them look on par with the rest of my game, plus it assumes you're always the good guy/gal. Also, I can't stand some of the voice actors, but that's me. It's an old mod that has never been updated or even completely finished and it shows. It was great 5-6 years ago, now I feel it's just meh.
