Grand Theft Auto V, commonly shortened to GTA V, is an upcoming open world action-adventure video game being developed by Rockstar North in the United Kingdom and published by Rockstar Games.The game will be the first major title in the Grand Theft Auto series since Grand Theft Auto IV (2008), and a continuation of the fictional universe that was introduced in that game. The 15th game in the series overall, GTA V is to be set in fictional Los Santos in the state of San Andreas and its surrounding areas, based on modern-day Los Angeles and Southern California. Renditions of San Andreas were previously featured in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, released in 2004, and the original Grand Theft Auto, released in 1997.

 

According to Rockstar, Grand Theft Auto V is destined to be their biggest open world game to date. The game will concentrate on "the pursuit of the almighty dollar". In a break with recent tradition, GTA V will feature three playable protagonists.

 

Grand Theft Auto V was officially announced on 25 October 2011, after much speculation. The debut trailer for the game was unveiled on 2 November 2011. The first demo of the game was revealed to press on 11 October 2012. The second trailer of GTA V was announced on 5 November 2012, and released on 14 November 2012.

A highly anticipated game GTA V is due for release on 17 September 2013, for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. Releases for the PC and Wii U are being considered by Rockstar, but have not been officially announced.

Wow it is looking good, I must confess me being a Saints Row fan and preying that the game would go back to it's roots; it seems like it wont happen.

But here I see this and it makes me think; man GTA V will cover several walks of life and the city looks amazing.

September 17th is going to be a good day :).

I only wish they could release it for PC but for now chances for PC version are the same as for Wii U....that is none.

And since there are rumors that GTA V might weight around 50-60GB (Since L.A Noire was 25gb ) they would probably port GTA V to PC for like 2 years...

That indeed is a shame as a good PC can run the game to it's full advantage.

I've noticed this being a trend lately btw.

A lof of developers are doing this (presumably) because of Pirates. 

Literally I've heard that PC gamers can easily pirate game (so can console but I would think it is a more elaborate process)

and they can not only take advantage of the Graphics to the highest level but also get all the DLC's For free.

It is quite sad, because for those of us who want to buy our games the legal way and do it on PC we lose :(.

Yep Dan Houser said the main reason they don't want to release GTA V on PC is due to piracy.

And rain cause floods, so lets do not build houses because they will be folded anyway.

They just don't want to release pc version and use piracy as any other argument.

Even 100k petition to make PC version was ignored so it seems they are really piss off on PC community.

Not profitable enough, you mean.

I would rather risk saying that they are poor at making games on pc. As you said before they did quiet poor port of gta4 before.

What makes them think that there is no piracy on consoles ?

And as for the 100k petition , only if those who singed bought the game for 60$ it would equal to six million $ , pretty profitable for a shitty port if you ask me .

And if they decide not to make PC version becasue they won't make their money then there must be something behind it.

Some companies release crappy PC port at day 1 just to get extra $$ so if R was all about money they would do the same thing.

CDPr existence itself makes that invalid.

 

I'm quiet sure that "piracy" is a smoke screen or simple excuse for R.

 

And when they release GTA5 I will do something even worse than piracy, I will borrow console and game from friend and finish it - without paying anything. Omg I'm so evil arrest me. lol

 

That would be considered by R masterbrains as lost sell of game, console, and service.

what a digs, without a pc they can't even create a game.. all consoles are build with a pc.. PC industry should stop selling there equipments to these types of greedy company. pc is what made rockstar. To say they hate pc now is like saying how am i suppose to build a new game next time. After san andreas Rockstar wen't downhill. And i never really liked GTAIV..

After watching that vid, this game is screaming for pc version. I hope they will reconsider and still release one after this one hits the sale.

 

I will never buy a console just for one game even less now it is for microshit(prism)

They will do that. Every year there are speculations about GTA becoming console-only game, but I think Rockstar would loose to much money on that decision. As far as I'm concerned R* is also paid by companies such as Sony and Microsoft to release their games on consoles first. As you can see every Manhunt, every GTA has its premiere on consoles first so more people buy them. Besides if the game is more optimized and more modding friendly than GTA IV, the new release will have a chance to continue the modding tradition of its preceders. I myself have started modding games from GTA. I remember the modding scene was huge, pretty comparable to our Oblivion/Skyrim one.

GTA V : Rainbow Six . I what i first thought of when i watched the gameplay. Also no hopes for pc, like red dead redemption, rockstar already confirmed that it won't be released to pc.

 

Unless someone ports or they need more cash lol.

Do you have any source that they wont release it for PC? Theres no release date thats all.....

 

Anyway GTA is way overrated for me, not that this is a bad game but none of these games are among the best games ever in my opinion.
