To my knowledge the last rumor surrounding GTA V on the PC was, that Rockstar was looking for PC graphics programmers. Wether or not they release it on PC is unknown. 

 

Judging from the past, they've always ported the major GTA titles to PC.

They made an announcement when they first launched GTA V that there won't be pc version due to piracy. Seeing as they need a pc to even create console game. maybe pc markets needs to make it clear and charge these companies more for there pc's. that should teach them.

 

Anyway they did say they where looking to hire programmers but that is not really that they where going to release to pc. we only hope that is true. Since it was the pc that even made Rockstar in the first place. besides wasn't these companies the reason why copy protection where invented in the first place ??

 

Anyway it was kind of stupid announcement seeing that they pirate console too. so even if they don't release to pc they will still lose on console.. Let's see if they still release on console console games are way overpriced and more expensive then pc games.

GTA V : Rainbow Six . I what i first thought of when i watched the gameplay. Also no hopes for pc, like red dead redemption, rockstar already confirmed that it won't be released to pc.

 

Unless someone ports or they need more cash lol.

 

Do you have any source that they wont release it for PC? Theres no release date thats all.....

 

Anyway GTA is way overrated for me, not that this is a bad game but none of these games are among the best games ever in my opinion.

Already confirmed can anyone not believe that? THEIR REASON : PIRACY, A HUGE PERCENTAGE OF SALES ARE LOST FROM ROCKSTAR GAMES DUE TO PIRACY, RESULT RED DEAD REDEMPTION WILL NEVER GET RELEASED TO PC. AND THEY SAID, GTAV MOST LIKELY WONT BE SEEING THE PC. UNLESS THEY SOMEONE MAKE A DR-F*CKNG "M" LIKE DIABLO3's SO PIRACY WILL BE PREVENTED AND SALES WON'T GO DOWN. TBH EVEN IF THEY WONT RELEASE IT ON PC THEY WILL STILL HAVE A SH*T LOAD OF MONEY SINCE LOTS OF PEOPLE WILL BE THROWING THEM CASH AT THEIR FACES WHEN IT RELEASES, SPECIALLY THE NEW TRAILER, I MEAN COME ON 3 CHARACTERS AT ONCE, and a hint that COOP CAMPAIGN IS EXISTING IN IT. for me its not overrated, i mean who the hell grows up without playing vice city when they are young? gta classic for me = first sandbox city type game.

They used the pc to create the console game parts and files, that doesn't mean that bam you can just play it on pc since it was made on pc.

 

i bet on everyone that will post on this thread that even after years of gtaV's release no pc version shall exist , unless some pro genius guy ports it or emulates it.

They are lying, sites have onfirmed that GTV will be released for PC on 17th September this year. It's was confirmed when it was leaked yesterday.

 

The piracy reason is a cover up to the fact that they are having a hard time finding a graphics programmer to finish the job.

 

However if they are not lying then they have most likely just killed the series.

Rockstar has not denied a pc version and in fact they have Rockstar Leeds working to provide pc ports of their latest games. Meaning we will at the very least get GTA5 and maybe even Red Dead/

Well in that case it was Microsoft editing in, they have monopoly for xbox 360 maybe they just said this to have more sales on xbox 360 then afterwards it will be released on pc.

 

They have done this sort of things before, so it would not surprise me.

I won't be picking it up.  Every GTA that's been released after Vice City was just complete and utter trash, and I have no respect for the franchise anymore.  They're just trying to cash crop the series now, just like the CoD series has turned into.

If they were making the series an annual cash cow, they'd release a major title every year and recycling content from previous titles and were not going for a 4-5 years cycle. I'm not sure what your resentment is based on and I don't really care, but comparing GTA to COD is a very far leap that requires a lot of imagination.

They're essentially recycling the game engine that they've been using since 3, tweaking it for graphic capabilities and new vehicle physics, but that's about it.  They TRIED to add a roleplay style engine in san andreas where you could train stats and stuff, but along with the crappy generic "gangsta" storyline, but it failed.  And playing IV was like pulling teeth.  Driving and moving was, as mentioned in a previous post, a horrible pain in the ass, and the story in itself was in no way fulfilling.  I much prefer Saints Row III and IV over anything the GTA series has to offer.  They're not afraid to take a concept and go over the top with it, the only drawbacks I've found between those two games are 1) No personalized radio stations and 2) You can't freakin fly in IV, just glide.  Although DFA is pretty wicked :-P

Before you say "Oh, 4 was supposed to be a DLC for 3" no, it was supposed to be an expansion.  Not a DLC.  It's only because they reached about an equal amount of gameplay time that they made it a full sequel. 

Now onto the cash cow point.  

As I said in my prior paragraph, the engine is essentially recycled and tweaked.  They may not release annually, but they've been hyping the game for at least three years that I know of, which the CoD series is all about.  Hype.  That's why it's so popular, not because it's a good game series, but because it's rammed down our throats.  I miss the days when game development was more about making a good game than about makin money.  Commercialization ruins everything.

Driving in GTA has always been a pain in the ass. Didn't stop me from enjoying every GTA game so far though. And surely, the engine in IV is not the same as in III? I was also quite impressed with how they tweaked it for Max Payne III, and if that's anything to go by V will be awesome. In all, it's premature to complain about a game that's not out yet, or to just assume there won't be a pc version.

As far as I'm concerned, Vice City was the last GTA, all the rest are like Enterprise is to Star Trek.  You can slap the name on it, doesn't mean it's good.  Makes my life better ignoring their existence :-P

That is assuming you have rose-tinted shades on and play a PC that's practically 10 years old. Which you don't...

Gotta second this or at least part of it...Vice City was the last good GTA, SA was almost "ok", IV let's not even go there...

 

Tbh it's more of the same, but with prettier graphics...
