TBH you can just make it nonplayable and call it a day. It was never meant to be worn by anyone (or anything) that isn't a JAVELIN.

They're only fit for JAVELIN, yes. No other races are supported.

I mean really. Big-ass robot and all they do with it is dig a hole.

 

I think they just fell in love with the idea of the BoS making a robot to take out the institute which they hate because... it makes robots.

 

Sexing up the bots is possible but doesn't AAF do that?

I think that might have been about giving dicks to JAVELINs? Don't think you edited the custom "synth" nude body you made for AMELIAs to also work on JAVELIN, so that might be it.

 

Otherwise, I guess it might have been about giving dicks to the actual robots (Robot Workbench ones maybe?), but if so... why tho. :classic_huh:

and don't the npc javelins already have dicks?

Or at least they work in my version. I had to make it so Nick didn't swap skins when he stripped. But the Institute javelins should work fine.

Yeah, just checked and I noticed you gave them an edited body that has the "modesty plates" by default but which are replaced by the actual dong when the "Erection" morph is applied. I don't use AAF so I have no way to apply that morph on NPCs, so I didn't notice it was set up like that and figured the undies were perma-on, lol.

(Side note, you seem to have added 3d straps to cover the "painted-on" ones right above the shaft base but those are actually lacking textures; dunno if something else could be conflicting on my end but I'd check it on your end just in case).

 

Speaking of JAVELIN, though... I've got 2 questions/requests for them.

 

1) Think you could give them an edited version of the Gen1/AMELIA nude body instead? Honestly I like the "irising" opening and more synthetic/robotic look much, much better than the human dong JAVELINs have right now. The modesty plate is also cool but it could always be kept over the opening itself (with an optional zap on the BS files for it (which I'd take care of doing) so users can remove it if they prefer the "exposed opening with peeking-out tip" look from AMELIA/Gen1).

 

2) Is there any chance you'd consider morphing their heads to match any of the existing FF4 races (possibly Lykaios)? You'd have to also refit hairs and items/gear, but TBH there's not that many of the former and the latter you already stated you fully intend to refit for FF4 races so the work would be done either way.

 

Morphing Selachii to fit (roughly) FF4 Lykaios proportions has turned out pretty damn nice and has opened my eyes even further to how bad the FO4rehead is; I feel that misshapen head is what brings JAVELIN down even though they're really cool otherwise, and it makes sense they'd be close to the actual FF4 heads since they're Gen2s, just like they have more humanlike heads than Gen1s in vanilla. There's also the bonus of them being able to use any Lykaios-fit gear too. Maybe even hairs as well.

 

I'd do it myself and in fact I've tried but I have yet to be successful here; I might still try again in case I can make it work, but honestly you're probably the best suited to do something like that. :classic_shy:

Sure, those changes are possible. TBH I was just keeping as much of the original JAVELIN gear as possible, which is why I kept the modesty plate. I'm pretty sure the straps ship with textures but they were a late addition so I mighta messed something up. I wanted something to tie the dick back to the body and I was getting a seam where the original straps were. 

 

I'm not sure I actually did that dick texture--I think I picked it up from somewhere. No? 

 

Reshaping the head is certainly doable. When I tried to refit the helmet to the furries it was surprisingly intricate given the different head shape and reshaping the head might have the same problem. Issue is that fur can pretty much run anywhere but robot seams have to run in straight lines or smooth curves, so it has to be more precise. Probably I'd have to go the full monty on them: Cut the head in half, convert tris to quads, join seams, and do all the work on the half model. Then dup, mirror, rejoin. 

 

BTW I just shortened Nick's muzzle and broadened it slightly. I thought the very long pointed muzzle wasn't working for his character. If you like the idea, could do the same for the rest of the JAVELINs. Give them proportions more like lykaios or fox.

Just checked the files themselves; the textures in the original path ("Textures\Anubis") are the same as the originals so they have the straps painted on the body UV. But, the ones included under the FFO directory do have them removed from the body and painted on the schlong UV itself (which is where you 3d straps map), so looks like I'm just a dumdum that tested the original textures instead of the FFO-specific ones.

The (human) dick texture JAVELINs use right now was actually included in the original mod; Liger doesn't seem to be too keen on working on genitals for her creations, but I guess she figured those would be requested eventually and having it there was better than empty/bugged texture there so she did paint it.

 

TBH the texture itself is fine, it's the fact that it's loaded on to a 100% human flaccid dong that feels jarring, considering how "synthetic" they feel otherwise; the "synth tool" schlong you made for AMELIAs looks like a much better fit for the whole aesthetic they're meant to have (at least IMO).

Honestly I don't think changing muzzle length or width alone can solve the issue (although they may be able to help a bit). It's the FO4rehead itself that's wrong, so the entire head dome + eye placement + snout shape would need to be redone IMO. Which is why I asked about this, lol.

 

As I said I do think the result would be worth it (like it turned out to be with Selachii) and also more fitting with FF4 as a whole, but I understand it wouldn't be exactly easy (my first quick attempts already failed miserably), so it's your call on what to do there.

Both should already have those, at least the ones included with FF4 as synth replacers. (If you're talking about the standalone playable races, those would need to be patched to use BD's new bodies instead).

The way chargen skeletons and bones work in the game means stuff like this is bound to happen even if you did everything right. Ignore any such weirdness. The real issues come if you still get bugs like those (with parts of the body "floating" in place or stretching weirdly) after completing chargen and when you're in normal gameplay. So check if it still happens then; if not, it'll be safe to ignore.

you were right. though for safety, I did manually reinstall my mods, and manually moving the meshes into the mesh folder gave me underwear, and I am running script extender as admin. now, how would I remove the porn mags so I can play this confidently while other people are in the house?

Don't pick up mags.

 

Also too I could be convinced to do a fully SFW version at some point. People have asked for nevernude bodies and I'm thinking of furrifying the raider displays as nude bodies. Doing a SFW variant would be more important at that point.
