NVIDIA GeForce TRX 2070 SUPER

Anyone had any luck getting Skyrim SE to run with a NVIDIA GeForce TRX 2070 SUPER graphics card? I'm about ready to give up. It was running fine before, but since I got the new card, it doesn't boot at all.

I dont think your graphic card is your problem. Please do a clean install, install latest card drivers and try running before you are installing mods / enbs / skse.

I'm with Numen13 here, although we are assuming other games are running ok and only SkyrimSE is the problem?
What does Skyrim do? Not start and application crashes or CTD on start or CTD when you load up a Save?

Get the latest DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and follow the instructions to remove your old drivers cleanly.

I had issues with an RTX2070s a few months after their release (back when they still cost less than human Kidneys) but I had stability issues that I put down to my old hardware (I returned the card) it never had any issues running any games. Even so, it's worth checking that your motherboard (namely the PCI-E version) and PSU meet the requirements of the Card.

This is LE tech support.

A humble request for admins: Please, if possible, change the appearance for Skyrim Special Edition to something flashy so it can be distinguished from rest of the forums... Obviously it easily missed somehow of late...

I'm not an admin just someone tired of SE users who can't read to the end of a list.

i will assume that the old card is still in your Skyrim.ini, that or the Skyrim.ini was updated with settings that are not compatible with your enb settings.

I only ask because I have not found even a single person anywhere who uses the latest GeForce cards with Skyrim. Not one. And they’ve been out for a year now.

Also, I had this excruciating experience with Steam customer service: When I told them Civilization Beyond Earth didn’t run on my machine, they assumed it must be my fault and had me uninstalling and reinstalling things for hours before I persuaded the witless customer service representative to ask someone who actually knew whether their game was compatible with the latest GeForce cards. The answer was no.

Also, I can’t get past the startup screen, but I did get a message telling me to upgrade to the 1.5.16 version, which is four years old.

No trace of my old graphics card in the .ini, just standard hi-res settings. Skyrim doesn’t recognize my GeForce card, it says so.

I do not use ENB. I’m told it is very buggy.

No, it's not buggy, just read the tutorials on installing ENB and sort your ini's with BethINI (it will also configure your ini's for running with ENB).

You'll find at least five users here using 3090s with LE and it runs "fine". The quotations being there because only one of them is using a strong enough CPU not to cause a bottleneck, so if they were properly built configs, Skyrim would run even faster.

There are also two SE users and their Skyrim runs fine as well seeing as they are making regular patreon begging ads with them.

ENB runs fine on either platform.

You haven't the faintest.

It's obvious you have the internet, I don't understand you couldn't find it...

Nice there you ask "sir what magic do you use to start the game?"

They probably told you that just to get rid of you.

That's not a message, it's a 2017 news. I can also see it if I go to the News section for Skyrim SE. It's in no way a message telling you or me to update.

Is this what you're referring to? There are several pages of unresolved issues.

That's a preset. Not ENB as a whole.

The problem is not the RTX 2070 super, Skyrim SE, Civilization BE, the poor people at tech support who you talked to for hours, or ENB being buggy.

My apologies for wasting your time. Having uninstalled all my mods, I finally persuaded the game to run with my graphics card. I had been misled by my considerable experience with modding Fallout. I see that modding Skyrim is survival mode.

You went over to the dark side then? ?

Meh. Since I literally had to start from scratch,  I thought I'd give it a proper try.

SE runs great. Not one crash. Haven't had any issues with SL, or anything else. There are some SE mods I'm trying out that hadn't been on LE , so I'm having fun.  But;

TBH, stability isn't a selling point, as my LE install was incredibly stable. And I'm still not sold on the visuals, LE simply looked better. So; I'm not sure I'll be sticking around.
