Didn't want to bother him tbh, he already moved on to other projects. I think it crashed in about 4 cutscenes in total, but because of the aforementioned back-to-back cutscenes it was more annoying than it should have. I think all of them were:

- Aqua waking up in Destiny Islands (Aqua mod caused the crashes)

- Kairi sitting in a tree with Sora sharing weird fruit (Kairi mod caused the crashes)

- The one where you are in the Keyblade Graveyard and see Xenahort with his mob of hooded people (I'm pretty sure both caused crashes)

- One cutscene after the final fight (I just uninstalled both after it crashed because the final fight is way too long)

Also, because I didn't see any reports of crashes in this thread I supposed it was only happening to me and just dealt with it.

Is definitely something I would like to fix, issue is; I'm pretty clueless currently as to what would be the issue, I assume is some material stuff but I've been having so much issues with that in the past and I don't know if I have the energy left to go back and figure out a way to fix that for everything.

After I'm done with the current Guilty Gear Strive mod I'm working on I will go back to KHIII and test some stuff out, but I can't really promise anything right now.

Irastris probably has some idea, or people on the KH discord. As far as I remember it has to do with the game either swapping cutscene models with gameplay models, or just every model pertaining to a character needing to be swapped. Either way, somebody on the Discord will probably be a lot more helpful since custom model swaps/materials seems to be mostly figured out there. Could also try PMing people on the nexus who have custom model mods up, like the Richy guy who has the KH2 Sora mod up. He uses a whole custom model/materials for KH2 Sora and it works in cutscenes and stuff. I'd ask him first.

 

Sorry if any of this is known already. I just wish there was someway to help.

Huh. I had nothing better to do so I tried testing out the Aqua/Island thing since I figured it would take the least amount of time. I never got a crash during the cutscene. For reference though, I had only the Aqua mod installed, nothing else, with both pose/arm-fix paks. Tested all 3 main files with and without the oily skin addon and never got a crash. I only checked it through the theater cutscene viewer (Return to Light is the name in the viewer) though since the saves I have are nowhere near the gameplay part. Dunno if that would even affect anything, but yeah.

I just tested it myself too and it doesn't crash when viewing the cutscene from the theater, but I can assure you it crashed for me there xD I tried the cutscene in the Keyblade Graveyard and it worked too. It doesn't seem to crash at all when viewing any cutscene from the theater, so I can see the cutscenes I missed with the mod, although I haven't tried the ones after the final boss. One thing I didn't notice is that I forgot to reinstall the "spaghetti-arm fixing mod" when I removed the mods the first time, whoops (I was wondering why it was so weird in the latter cutscenes, dunno if that could have anything to do with the crashes but just a fyi). Ah, just in case the crash always displays the message attached so it is most likely what @zai_ said it was.

Same happened to me. Figured they are just busy with working on the commissioned stuff but then patreon releases happened after so... Guess they moved on ?‍♀️
