I was a bit perplexed by the *.fomod format of the extender too, so I tried opening it with WinRAR. My quest was immediately successful.

You only need to use a mod manager to install the .fmod format. It will install correctly the first time and every other time you install it.. :D. NO need to extract to follow the tutorial. The tutorial was created at a time when the extenders were manual installs.

Added the bit with the .fomod. Pride mentioned that older versions of FOMM or NMM might have problems with .dlls so I'll leave the old description up for people not using the newest version of FOMM.

It shouldn't .. try redownloading the mod.

I just downloaded the file (from CK's new link) and tried it .. it worked perfectly. Well at least installed that is..

In anticipation of FO4, I reinstalled FONV.

Any suggestions on best body & armor replacer pack to go with Sexout?

I used to use body by race but I guess new better ones are there now?

Great guide Bruce, good jpb man. May want to consider adding the basic Load Priority for the core Sexout ESMs too. Its something I trip over on occasion still. Every time I upgrade I always seem to get them out of order and have to dig through the forums to find the right clues lol. Might be a nice addition to the FOMM section, after installation?

Might be a good idea however I would suggest anyone having these issues to install LOOT and run it once before staring their mod manager to play the game. It does a pretty dam good job with the mods and so far works great with Sexout Mods. Haven't ran into any problems and none with the main core files. ;). This can solve the problem with Sexout load order as well as any other load orders that come up. Great first line tool to use before posting a thread that the game CTD.. :D It is also much quicker than running FNVedit for those very complex game setups.

Thanks, but I'm not quite sure what you mean?

There is only sexout.esm, and all other included optional plugins are .esps (like SexoutAmra or SexoutPositioning), which cannot be loaded before an .esm. If you use any current mod manager (aside from NMM), it will tell you right away if you have a missing dependency or accidentally put your mods in the wrong order.

It always boils down to:

...

Sexout.esm

SexoutCommonResources.esm (for mods that require it)

other Sexout/SCR dependent .esms

...

sexout esps

...

Since most sexout mods are pretty much script-only, it makes no difference in which order you load them, unless that specific mod requires to be loaded before or after mod x or y.

Ah I see. I was under the impression that after Sexout.esm and SCR.esm, the esm order was important in regards to the other optional SexOut ESMs like Soliciting, preg, slavery, etc. Though I suppose they would be out of scope for the guide since you're only focusing on the core Sexout framework install.

No worries.

If you use pride's FOMM, Wrye or MO you should always be able to see the necessary dependencies. For instance, that you should always load Tryouts or the Store after Sexout and SCR. There shouldn't be other load order concerns, like overwriting vanilla records and making sure that one mod has precedence over the other. In that case, I'd always refer to the individual mod descriptions. In any case, like you say, that would be out of the scope of this guide.

Hello I'm having some problems and i can't seem to find anything wrong with my installs or mods... I've just started setting up Sexout and have been reading and following all guides and instructions... My game works and has dialog to engage in sex but there are several options to start sex - One the actors just stand facing one another or inside one another and you can hear sex and when an orgasm is achieved there is a squirt but no animations?

The other text to engage sex seems to work the actors and scenes seem to work fine...

Does anyone know what this could be I've searched all the trouble making threads and have tried most fixes...

This is my load order if it helps

Hello people. First off i wanna say good job on the guide, secondly, i would like to ask a question. How does one install Nx properly as when i downloaded it, it came up as a file ready to be installed on the NMM/FOMM. Any suggestions?

Yes...

Use NMM or FOMM to install it.

That is it.

Or check out the OP and in a spoiler there is info on manual installation. It isn't advised for those that are new to modding however if you understand the folder structure and how to do things like this you shouldn't have any problems.

Introduction

This little guide will cover all the basics in order to succesfully install the SexoutNG framework. There will be some pictures to clarify things that might not be clear to some or are sometimes overlooked. This guide assumes that you have succesfully installed the Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) and know how to extract files from an archive. It is possible to install the framework with the Nexus Mod Manager as well, but I strongly recommend sticking with FOMM.

I. Download the required files

This one should be obvious, if you've read the requirements section of the SexoutNG OP.

SexoutNG Data

SexoutNG Core

NVSE 5.0b2 (it has to be version 4.5 or greater, older versions are not supported)

sxcvL5R.jpg

NVSE Extender 16 or higher!

Astymma's Compatibility Skeleton (as of SexoutNG '94 a compatibility skeleton is included, which means you don't need to install an extra skeleton)

The Mod Configuration Menu

Since we are going to use FOMM to install Sexout in this guide, you need to choose "download manually", when downloading the skeleton and MCM from the Nexus.

02nexus.jpg

Once you are finished, you should have the following files (the version numbers may change):

SexoutNG - Core 2-10-94.fomod

SexoutNG - Data 2-10-94.fomod

nvse_5_0_beta2.7z
NVSE Extender v16.fomod
The Mod Configuration Menu-42507-1-5.7z

Optional:

SexoutNG - Bodies 1-1-1.fomod (Install the bodies, if you don't have any male/female nude bodies installed yet. If you already have nude bodies installed, the game will always choose yours over the ones from sexout)

II. Installation

First of all, extract all the 7z archives in their own folders.

We will start with the SexoutNG main files. In order to install them with FOMM you need to copy all .fomod files to the location of your FOMM installation into the following folder: data/falloutnv/mod. (for instance D:/FOMM/data/falloutnv/mod.) Every other fomod goes into that folder as well.

(Alternatively you can select "Add fomod", instead of "Create from folder" in the package manager and add the files that way.)

04locationfomm.jpg

Start up FOMM next and click the package manager button.

05packagemanager.jpg

You will see something like this:

06packagemanager.jpg

If you have other fomods installed, they will appear here as well. In order to install them you need to either select them and click activate or just double-click them. You should see this message and the box next to the file name will be ticked.

07success.jpg

If it asks you to overwrite files, because you are upgrading, click yes or yes to all. Do this for all the .fomod files you've just downloaded

In case you want to use astymma's compatibility skeleton, instead of the skeleton provided by Sexout:

Congratulations, you are now halfway done. Next up, we are going to install the rest of the files. If you haven't already extracted the skeleton files, you might want to do so now.  Since this mod already has the right structure you can convert this newly extracted archive into a fomod as well. In order to do this go back to FOMM's package manager and select "create from folder". Navigate to the extracted archive, like shown in the picture and click okay.

08converttofomod.jpg

Now you have a new fomod in your selection screen. Just activate it like the rest and you are good to go. If you have a body replacer installed, it might ask you to overwrite files. Choose yes or yes to all. If you are going to install a body replacer, after you've installed the skeleton, make sure to reactivate the skeleton fomod.

09converted.jpg

Since the the NVSE Extender comes as a .fomod archive now as well, the installation process is the same as for the the Sexout Core and Data files. Move the archive to your FOMM/data/falloutnv/mod folder and activate the package with the package manager.

Lastly, we need to put NVSE itself into its right place. To do this you need to copy the contents of the NVSE archive (all the .dlls and the nvse_loader.exe) into the main Fallout New Vegas root directory where the FalloutNV.exe is located. Do NOT put them in the data folder and do NOT install NVSE with FOMM. You don't have to copy the src folder from the NVSE archive as it only contains the source code and isn't required for NVSE to run.

11nvseinstall.jpg

Now you're done with the installation of the SexoutNG framework. In order for it to actually do something, you need to install one of the various Sexout plugins. There is a lot to choose from in the Fallout/Sexout download section. Read and follow their installation instructions carefully, as they often have requirements of their own.

In case you downloaded a compilation, you should still read the requirements of the individual mods, since some of them cannot be included in compilations. As a matter of fact, you can probably save more time by reading requirements and instructions, as by just downloading a bunch of mods and praying that it works. Troubleshooting a broken game also takes longer than spending a little time reading up on vital information. 90% of support topics in this section are due to the fact that people didn't take that advice.

ALL of the images are dead. I want to install this but I've always felt it was too complicated; Sexlab ended up being easy (Skyrim). Any chance these images could be replaced to help guide installation??

Posted

The pictures are in the attachment. They might be a bit outdated, as might be the guide. If you can install Sexlab "easily", this shouldn't be that much of a problem, pictures or not.

Edit: Updated pictures in OP.
