"Is there a mod that..." & Requests

I have over 20 footwear items in my personal clothing mod for my custom body and none of them use the upperbody slot, they are all bodyaddon 3 and this works fine for me. Granted none of them are stilleto or extra high heels, some are just "normal" heels (PE Dress for example) and I remodel the shoe to match the foot as best I can.

 

I think the idea using the body morph method if it can be impemented would elimante the need for swapping bodies or using the current method of upperbody slot and allow the lift of the heel bones to match the angle of the footwear and I think as it was mentioned then the artist woudl insert the proper "angle" value in script to best match the footwear.

 

I still think its important to have the height (z axis) of then entire body model adjusted to match for the reasons aj said about head and hands.

First, is there a way to control the player's fall speed in FNV?

fall speed should be havok related and not controllable. Jet pack... I've seen that script but a long time passed, so I don't recall exactly, however I remember it was introducing a vector that pushed you high, it was making some math and then controlling the Z using SetPos.

I can obviously say something wrong, but if I had to do something like that the first I would try is this:

- If IsAnimPlaying JumpLoop

   - increase that game setting that decides the max height before taking damage)

   - checking my Z Pos and tweaking some vertical vector that pushes me high. It will be in relation with GetSecondsPassed so the framerate wouldn't change the result

 

However if JumpLand animation doesn't trigger at the right moment (as I suspect) it would be a huge problem.

 

I suspected right... This won't work because IsAnimPlaying returns unexpected values for all the jump animations

Just throwing this out there since it is two different games and all that entails; Skyrim's HDT physics takes everything into account; jumping, swimming, walking, running, sneaking and all of the weapon equipped equivalents.  I don't know if this is relevant or not since I'm not a scripter or animator.  I know the systems and language are not compatible, but maybe some insight from a Skyrim animator/script monkey who has also done work for FO might be informative.

ok is there a mod that makes creatures use humanoid skels so they can be dressed ect or can someone point me in the direction of how to add a new creature type? The goal is I want to replace the securitrons with androids without having to replace them manually in each cell with an npc type. All of this would be easy if I could just add a new creature type that uses a better skeleton so it can be dressed as I see fit. Thanks

I'm interested in something like that too.  I tried to replace all of the Securitrons on the Strip with android policemen like from the movie THX 1138 and it made the game crash.  It wasn't anything to do with my models or rigging, since I could add them as extra NPCs and they would work.  Replacing was the problem.

I know for skyrim I tried replacing a few creatures with different versions in the sexlab folders usually they worked but a few caused a CTD because they used/had different nodes then the actual creature had or I accidentally placed it into the wrong folder. Right now I'm getting ready to change out a bunch of them for some new creature testing.

The securitrons are a creature type which makes them a single mesh model for lack of a better term. Effectivly I can't just change them to an npc model that can be dressed in parts like wastelanders or player can. I was hoping someone out there had already run into this brock wall because as it stands the only ways for me to get what I want (which is sexy android style securitrons) is to replace them one by one like was done for the fakeplastictrees ede mod on nexus which would take quite a bit of doing transfering every script/placement etc of every instance of securitron OR find a way to CREATE a new "creature" "type" like has been done as of aliens and abominations (which I do not think were in the old code/geck before dlcs. I could be wrong. It happened before...once.).

 

As far as android policemen I couldn't say aa far as I know the only "androids" in fo3 or NV are just NPC's with mesh/texture/destruction modifications. I realise creatures are done the way they are to conserve resources (my game is so modded I wonder if I should build a new machine just for NV). But I really really hate the cluncky bots unicycling around the strip with their footballer shoulders. The don't fit to begin with and definatly not in my pervy game. If the tech exists in my broken lore to have a sexbot then the bot telling me not to dance naked in the fountain should be horning me up so I head into a casino for some good times not reminding me that the local police are made of the same stuff as the container for my can of beans.

The securitrons have their own skeleton if you found a hot/cool model that uses the securitrons skeleton you could just replace the securitrons with that model. Clothing so they could wear something would have to be hand done so that they would fit them and rigged to the securitrons skeleton nodes. Earlier I took the Randy savage dragon mod and took the mesh and replaced the sexlab dragon with the Randy savage dragon it was pretty funny. I named the screenshots *Snap* into a Dragonborn!!

 

My other post was asking Kendo 2 if their android policemen used and had the same nodes and skeleton that the securitrons do. If they didn't have everything the same that might be the reason why they were causing a CTD when used as a replacer but not when just being added to the game. Not sure though.

the problem doen't stop with securitrons though. if I can get a creature type that properly uses a player/npc model it would break things wide open for all sorts of mods. My fear is that it's hardcoded into the exe which is a level of time I'm not willing to commit. I know it's off topic but I've always felt if there was ever going to be a shadowrun game this engine would be the best place to star. Sadly they made that crap. So, we make this what we can.

No. Because FPT is actually a hands on solid replacement. FPT EDE is an "npc" with the scripts etc copied/replaced from EDE. This method would be fine if there was only one securitron. For example I could do it soley with the instances of securitronvictor without losing most of my life but it's not the intelligent way to go about it. basicly EDE was removed and FPT was placed in the spot with the same yet modded scripts. I barked up that tree before I started posting. Your on the same train as I am just a few cars back.

The thread's named "Is there a mod that...", I guess if you want to monopolize the topic your best deal would be open your own thread.

 

Coming back to your post, the way actors and creatures are handled is far too different, and as you say it's hardcoded so you can't change some behaviours. I don't know what you people mean with "replacing": I doubt that swapping the IDs from creature to actor is possible, I think it's more probable that the CTD comes because there are 2 different types involved, more than because of the skeleton itself.

This kind of work should be manually done via GECK, manually replacing every creature with an android custom race, no alternatives. This would also allow you to verify if they're referenced in some script or linked to something else, so you could properly redo that manually too. If they require specific animations, it can be done via script. It's not a 5 minutes work, but vanilla has just 50-60 protectrons in total.

The only alternative would be rigging a human on a creature skeleton but it's not the same, it still wouldn't allow to wear outfits, so you should rig different creatures with different outfits to have variety. Still, dressing / undressing them could be done with workarounds via script, but of course it's not easy like for actors and they would require their own "special outfits" to be done...

Pressing the F key will toggle your view between first and third person perspective. While in third person, holding down the F key makes it possible to pan in a circle around your character.

It was never released. I doubt she will ever release any of her of ME mods for a while. People were stealing and reuploading her mods and sending her rude pms which pissed her off. So now everything is private for her.

Except the fact that ME allows modders to use their assets from private use. In addition they allowed modders to upload some of their content (Not for NV) because they asked permission first. On top of that, tesvixen is sending a message to them for permission to publicly to release her mod. 

 

Why do you think they allowed their assets to be used for Garry's mod and content uploaded on steam workshop.

 

Well I'd guess not all of them got official permission but at the end of the day is that they don't mind.

Well anybody can really use anything if it's for personal use... Wasn't aware that Bioware/EA had given permission for their assets to be used in other companies games though. That's pretty cool of them.

 

My point was more alluding to the fact none of it is 'her' content, so nothing was actually being stolen from her...

The assets that you see with ME mods  wasn't just copied and dropped into FNV. There is substantial work required behind the scenes to get it to work properly in another game. The work to make it compatible is her's and it was disrespectful to just rip it off and upload it elsewhere. Things like that are reasons many other very talented artist don't release their mods publicly. I have plenty of unreleased mods but because I respect the trust I was given I will not distribute them.
