Ark of Truth Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Well this is just OTT. CONTAINS MILD SPOILERS!! BioShock: Infinite Violates Religious Beliefs, Valve Offers Refund It's a joke! They can get a refund for being religious but you can't get a refund for a game which does not work.
windpl Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Bwahaha, he bought a SHOOTING game, so what his religion conscience allow murdering people but he can't fucking get over diving in water. To the asylum with him I say.

windpl Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Spoilers : Im so sad now that i just finished the game and learned elizabeth is anna T_T Why do you have to die Dewitt T_T why!!??!?!?!? I don't get why so many ppl says this game sucks. Because this should be one of the patch not only one. You never wondered why you were given a chance to make a choices and then, chose making was cut off so sudden. Game even was advertised that you will influence the game - industrial revolution popups anyone? Aadvertised trailers have nothing common with game. As someone said few post back dev team changed, I suppose there player decision making ends. So half baked game, was patched up the add some half ass drama and ppl are brainstorming wtf is about this game that it is soooo complicated and hard to understand, - it isn't, it is just not finished. Original concept of BSI was that in some way player was shaping Elizabeth, and end game would depend whom she become.

They can get a refund for being religious but you can't get a refund for a game which does not work. Man these people would have a fit if they ever played Grandia II or Xenogears. Anyway, I think Valve has always offered exactly one guaranteed refund per customer and then after that they become all obtuse and unhelpful. Maybe that's why this guy got a refund so easily.
Angrybird Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Boring, I don't know what it is about Bioshock games I just can't play them and I don't really know why.
RitualClarity Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I am conflicted. On the one hand, I just beat the game last night and I really want to discuss the ending. On the other hand, with the huge amount of negative reactions I'm seeing in this thread, I fear my exaltations of how outright amazing and beautiful a game this is will fall on deaf ears. Or this being text, blind eyes? I won't insult you by suggesting you don't "get" the game, nor will I harangue you for having an opinion that differs from mine (heavens forbid!). But the level of hostility found in this thread makes me wonder if it may simply be a waste of my time to post my opinion. Anyway, I'll leave it up to you guys. If you want my opinion about the game, like this comment. If more than five people like it, I'll say what I think. Otherwise I'll spare you the block of text. You started this thread. You deserve time to state your opinions. I have changed my opinion the last couple of weeks after others have talked about the game. I have also read some wikis and think it will be a great addition to my gaming library on one of the next games I get. It looks good and thanks to some of the links that were given and what RL individuals have told me explains away my concerns with the change in style of game play. Those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” — Bernard Baruch I personally would enjoy a difference in opinion on this game from individuals that truly enjoyed it and why. I appreciate differences in opinion and have no fear of it. My concerns with the game was and is based on the massive changes made to the game from what it was before. I am skeptical that the producers have been able to create a great story behind the game. Beautiful graphics only go so far. That being said feel free if you are still passionate on the game and what to tell someone PM me if you don't want to post here. I assure you I would look forward to your or anyone else giving praise to this game especially if it comes with some descriptions and explanations. I have yet gotten this game however it is still a contender for the next game I get/play.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Personally the game didn't impress me to much and the ending let me down like ME3s ending did.

I have yet gotten this game however it is still a contender for the next game I get/play. To be perfectly honest, I just don't possess the mental strength to defend my position on this game anymore. There was a time when I'd have been very vocal about my disagreement. I'm sure I could quite eloquently explain my stance on what I feel makes this game great. But the thought of getting into a debate over it just makes me feel really fucking tired. I'm vastly in the minority here, and from what I've seen of people's opinions I know it'll just be more of the same. I'd rather just live and let live, and play games I love. I love this game. If that's not good enough for you, go fuck yourself.
Mailamea Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Whats bothering me is why did Dewitt, or Anna say "I love you" before they drown him Like a father daughter moment, where booker or anna/elizabeth says i love you father thank you for everything, lol
windpl Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Whats bothering me is why did Dewitt, or Anna say "I love you" before they drown him Like a father daughter moment, where booker or anna/elizabeth says i love you father thank you for everything, lol Because it is paradox like in movie Looper, Dewitt(plyaer) wasn't that evil Dewitt yet but supposedly he was his source what is total nonsense I won't dwell on it beacue it is so incoherent. I told you this game is incomplete.
Queen Bee Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 Logic, you just told ritualclarity to go fuck himself I'm telling everyone that has a problem with my opinion to go fuck themselves. But whatever, I've lost interest in this thread, I'm out.
windpl Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Suit yourself, actually your opinion is most common one - only few dislike new BSI.
Mailamea Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Replayed the game and early on the heads and tales part already explains everything lol. + that moment you realize the choice on the bird and cage when replaying the game . lol
RitualClarity Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Logic, you just told ritualclarity to go fuck himself Yea windpl, I noticed as well.. I actually wanted to here her thoughts. I respected her well thought out post on other threads and looked forward to some insight to help confirm that this game indeed is as great as I think it is. I hope that anybody that read that post can see that I meant only the greatest respect for her insight on this. Suit yourself, actually your opinion is most common one - only few dislike new BSI. There are many individuals I know in RL that think this game is awesome. Some of these individuals have the same taste as I do when it comes down to games as well. So yes windpl I agree that there are many that actually like it. I am currently playing through another complex game right now and can't take this one on as well. I like to play through until I become board with a game before moving to another. I will most likely wait until it is on sale.
thk1 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 While all this is going on, please consider this simple fact that I've learned to live by: The internet will always, (and I do mean always) be more vocal when it comes to people hating things. If you like something, your voice will more then likely be drowned out when it comes to a comments-on-a-forum ratio. So, the next time you're reading about how, "Bioshock Infinite sucks" or "Game of Thrones is a boring show" or "air is the most useless thing on earth"... always keep that fact in mind. That said however, people are always welcome to nit-pick and dislike things based on their tastes since their opinions are their own, as are yours. Heck! I'm pretty sure lots of people are angrily disagreeing at me right now about how the internet isn't an angry place.
Queen Bee Posted May 12, 2013 Author Posted May 12, 2013 *Sigh* Logic, you just told ritualclarity to go fuck himself Yea windpl, I noticed as well.. I actually wanted to here her thoughts. ChancellorKremlin Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 I think this thread could have done without the "Go fuck yourself" part, but whatever. It actually makes me want to play the game even more. Starting Bioshock I today (yes, I absolutely MUST play them all. In order. Alphabetically. With tea breaks. And no toilet breaks. Maybe not that last part.) Oh and QB, just so you know, by the time I've finished with it (I'll give you about a month's headstart ) I hope you'll be recharged enough to discuss how awesome/mediocre/terrible that game was, together with detailed and careful analysis of all the undertones, ramifications of your choices (or lack thereof) stylistic presentation, gameplay and quality of writing/dialogue. ... so, you know. Bake cookies. And bring wine. I love wine.

I'm telling everyone that has a problem with my opinion to go fuck themselves.Pay more attention. I have paid attention Post 109 is the original post not a corrected clarified post later made. I have no problem with being told to go fuck myself if it is legitimate intended statement toward myself in the normal act of posting but posting and later claiming that it didn't happen is mind boggling. I love this game. If that's not good enough for you, go fuck yourself. Started as a post in response to my post. Anyone that doubts it can read that post. Everybody can decide for themselves. @Queen Bee Please don't post any response to my post here or elsewhere on LL and I will do the same. Thank You.
gregathit Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 That is enough. The hostility towards one another stops right now or warnings will be issued. If you are willing to post your opinion, then you need to be willing to have that opinion criticized in a civil manner. If you can't handle that, then don't post your opinion. It is that damn simple. No person's opinion (including mine) has anymore validity than that of anyone else.
ChancellorKremlin Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 So I just had my first little twist in Bioshock (the 1st one, not infinite - not there yet!) and wow, it just blew me away. I'm hoping the rest of the series are just like this. I also like how the game gets progressively darker and darker. It started off a little goofy and silly before I realised wow, is it just me or is it getting dark in here lol. I can't wait to finish this one and play the other two. I'm also pleasantly surprised at how long the game is, something a lot of games aren't these days. What's Bioshock Infinite like in regards to length and replayability?
windpl Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 apox 14h of play 0 re playability, although there is 1999 mode when you beat it, something like new game+ I wasn't fond of BS1 but 2 blew me away. BSI is closer to BS1.

BSI is closer to BS1. Well, I finally got around to beating BioShock this morning. Have to say, I loved it. One of those "classic games". I've already got 2, and will be playing that soon. I'm eager to see how BS2 improves on this, and I just positively cannot wait for BSI.
windpl Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 BS2 was a nice surprise, so nice that it left impression. Recently I have learned that new UFO "The Bureau" is made by guys that made BS2 so my expectation for this game(ufo) changed from "crap" to 99% I'm buying it.
