Ok a little cut-fu and paste-jitsu later we have this.

Nice work.  That mesh is in so many parts due to me not having a clue what the hell I'm doing.   Mistakes in the early stage leads to " how the hell am I supposed to unwrap this?"  It was my first time using freeform mode.

Check out http://www.sharecg.com/ for free tile-able textures. And google's image search will find just about anything.

Your work so far argues that you do in fact know what you're doing. :)

Thanks for the link.  I generally hate registering on all sorts of sites, but this looks like it might be worth it.

That velvet textures pack might be just the thing to try on your Rider dress next. :)

I was actually using google to find images and that's how I found the original rose lace patetrn I used, I was never on the shutterstock site at all - just snagged it from google, removed the watermark, patched the holes, cut, paste, resize, colorize etc.  Which, while not exactly legal, was harmless since it would be on my computer only - once it got shown and other people wanted it though...

I like the Pinkish Rose/Green leaves effect but it just doesn't *pop* the way the other texture in all red did so I did a bit more tweaking.

Couldn't get them the same shade of red (since the leaves are one shade of green but the rose is at least a dozen shades,) but close enough I think.

I figured since it would be all red the larger roses would look better resulting in

And then though, hey what about larger rose patterns on the sleeves/stockings resulting in

screenshot110r.png

Which I, at least, think *pops* quite well (and as a side "benefit" reduced the sleeve/stocking texture sizes to 1024 from 2048.)

In regards to the dagger size in your other reply - I've never seen the anime (I'm assuming it's an anime) that this Rider stuff is from so I have no idea what's involved, resizing etc - it was just a general comment on daggers in Skyrim being shortswords in reality and some up into the broadsword/longsword range.

I use the one I do because it's the smallest one I could find and it's still huge  (Fang of Haynekhtnamet mod.)

If the blade is longer than your arm hand to elbow, it's a sword in my book.

Oh and while looking through my older screenshots I found this pic which had my edit of the Forsworn skimpy armor using feathers for the loincloth effect (feathers from the original forsworn texture.)

sashaskimpy.png

Originally one long feather in the back, later 4 or 5 (i forget) but mini-skirt short.

Just thought I'd throw that idea out there since no one else seems to have done anything like that and it might inspire a real artist to do something. :)

A loincloth, skirt or even a full dress of feathers could look really nice done by an actual artist.

Having done the dress I took a shot at doing the rest of the Rider set to match

screenshot112g.png[/img]

Unfortunately I'm not sure what you did with the arm pieces - it's as though the entire sleeve is colored from one tiny stripe in the texture so I could do nothing with it, so I rose-d the armlets instead.

The boots came out fairly nice, but there's a very visible seam for no reason I can see, and the collar on the dress seems to be completely untextured now

Since I have no idea why it's heppening or how to fix it, for myself I think I'll just snip the collar off the model.

I've been reforming the Diamond Armor mod released on the Nexus (found here) to fit the x117 body. I don't think I can release it for legal reasons (the meshes and textures aren't mine), but I would appreciate some critiques on my work, as I'm still very new at editing and making 3D models. Keep in mind that I'm not done yet: The weights aren't painted correctly for one and some animations cause clipping of the different armor layers, as you can see in the first pic:

The tattoo is something I made a while back. It's not my texture either, I just painted it onto the x117 body texture from another body texture posted on the Nexus.

You also may notice I'm using some other armor pieces, such as the body straps seen underneath the armor, and the navel piercing. The sword and shield are both added by a mod on the Nexus called The Gemstone Collector. which I HIGHLY recommend if you're into many different kinds of gems and armors made from them. The author used all real-world gems, and even added descriptions on the that explain what they're composed of, and what kind of environments they're found in, and other interesting facts!

Is it just me, or are there very few light armor head pieces?  Some of the light armor perks want a 'full set' of light armor, and I can't seem to find anything to wear that is in the 'head' slot instead of the 'circlet' slot.  Am I missing something obvious?

---

Edited to add link

I'm no good at making new armor pieces, so instead I edited the perks to not require helmets.  I uploaded the file to http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/170-armor-perk-fix-no-helmets/

I'm using Uncapped Perks from http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=7015 and so I also made another edited perk file for the uncapped versions at http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/171-armor-perk-fix-no-helmets-uncapped-version/

If you use these, add them after anything else that modifies the perks.

Thanks, Spicycat! I've been wondering about that too. Perhaps x117 versions of vanilla helms are in order. I've used the Light Imperial Armor x117 for my PC, but I don't recall seeing a craftable helm for it.

I wonder if it might not be worth making a 'head' slot tiara that just has all the material keywords, in a light armor and a heavy armor type.  The 'matching set' perks use material keywords to determine if you have a set (if materialKeyword >= 4.0) so we wouldn't need more than that.  The only real problem with that is it wouldn't really match any special armors in looks.  I'd love to have a skimpy silverlight circlet that was colored similarly to the armor and that used the head slot, for instance.

there many variants to get full set:

- assign "helmet" keyword to any part, even on pants

- make "armored" circlet

- make invisible helmet  (without AA)

This already exists.

KD Circlets, various designs, craftable, some are regular circlets, some are light armor and some are heavy armor.

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27064//?

I think they were originally created for Oblivion (I vaguely recall having them) then ported over to Skyrim.

Does x117 actually _need_ special helms for regular armors - I was under the impression that the body is smaller but the head is regular size (unless you've further tweaked it.)  I know I've worn regular versions of hide, glass, elven, steel, iron and other helms and they looked fine on my character.

My preference is still for an armor circlet though - what's the point of getting just the right look for the character's face/hair and then covering it all up?

Posted

That's true, uguu123.  I guess I could just add the helmet keyword to the cuirass that I want to use.  The perk edit I made because it involved less editing overall, since it doesn't have to be applied to each armor individually, but there isn't any reason that the armor couldn't be modified as well.

Hello Lostdaywalker i would like to use your work in my mod here -> http://www.loverslab.com/topic/17290-update-052313-npc-replace-for-yii-techniques-labors-children-of-the-sky/

I have regroup in one big archive many of your Meshes and Textures without the .esp's for the npc clothes replacement. Do you autorise me to make it downloadable in my post ?

Feel free. Take what you need. I don't mind.

Using NifSkope Right click, Texture, Edit UV To see the mesh. The arms are clones of each other and each band is a clone of each other. so they are all in the same place.  Not sure why you can see the seam.

I'm pretty useless in Nifskope - I can just maange to select, block, remove to snip something off.

Since with the cape and the hair I can't really see the collar anyway I just snipped it off.

RE: the boots, I think it may have been the fact that I was in bright sunlight that made the seam show up so clearly - might have been shining at just the right angle to light it up.

Speaking of Nifskope, it's odd behvaior actually resulted in a new, serendipitous texture.

I snagged a bunch of stuff off that site you linked to, including some dress for some power model I guess (I just wanted a texture from it) and some lace textures.

Tried the sparklered texture on the rider dress and it looked OK, but not great (would look better with brightness and contrast bumped up.)

Then I stitched together one of the lace txtures and tried it, but since my system is behaving badly and Skyrim savegames can take up to 10 minutes to load I just looked at it in nifskope.

Whereupon I saw something rather odd - it was showing the current lace texture, but putting it over the previous redsparkle texture (I'd erased and overwritten it then saved the dress.dds from gimp.  I guess it's because it was a transparent texture (lace) but the dress isn't defined to be translucent so it shoved something else under it - I really don't know how it decides this stuff.

Anyway, it looked pretty good so I experimented, uped the brightness and contrast on the redsparkle texture then overlaid the lace pattern on top.

End result gives this brocade effect which I think looks quite nice indeed, although maybe more fitting on a more formal dress.

screenshot116x.jpg

The dress I'd snagged had several different colored versions of the texture - the red shown,  blue,  gold, pink, purple and a dark green - I think I must try the green next - goes better with red hair.

Love the puff sleeves on the Forrest Mage top.

Figured out transparency and redid the Rider dress as I'd originally wanted - White lace (new texture that's actually 2 lace textures I snagged off that site you linked to, overlaid one on the other.   For good measure I then did the Forrest Mage top in White lace (Had to remove the belt and bag though.)  That collar and those puff sleeves look _really_ good in white lace.

Keep up the great work. :)

Hello and thank you very much for the CotS clothes!

I downloaded the DragonWear pack and installed it correctly. I experience a problem though: when go to the tanning rack in Riverwood I can only see some boots or gloves but no actual dresses. Are they available later? Is there something wrong with my load order? Hope you can help me.

Thanks in advance

Fireball Scroll and Lightning Bolt scroll. For some reason it does not show up unless you have one. Never figured out why it does that. It started doing that after one of the updates quite some time ago. It has something to do with your level and have you had access to the scroll in the past.

I'm looking at the picture trying to figure out what the hell are you talking about.  Then I see it. :(  It's sweaty body. Get you head out of the gutter.  :shy:

Could someone kindly post a mirror download for "Yes Its a Dress" aka Khaleesi's dress? That one link is not working for me on MEGA (all others I tried were working), and it does not work with JDownloader either.

The dl link is down now. lostdaywalker took it down momentarily (I'm pretty sure), but I still have the info, if you want it via strait-up upload. If there any problems getting it back to Mega, I mean. The only thing Mega usually requires is that you use Chrome to dl. Wonder what happened?
