i couldn't find the DL link for R2 at first thanks, does it fix the camera probleme?

also ashen followers crashes my game, i have adalia follower but ashen followers crashes the game.... uhh again my camera is too high and i cannot see the character so if there is a console command i can type in that would be great but i replaced with R2

[edit] yeah R2 doesn't fix my camera probleme, unless i did something wrong i didn't add the R2. fix yet so i'll try that, my ck is bugged for some reason so i'll just stick with the races i have for the moment.

[idea] i thought about this but it would be pretty awesome if there was a mod that had any COTS follower age to 18 after so long. it would have to be a script and it'd be a pain in the ass to do though so yeah just an idea.

You have to disable RaceMenuPlugin.esp. Yous still keep the new race menu, but that is not needed.

i don't have racemenuplugin.esp i have race compatibility.esp but thats all, but what i ment about the camera probleme is after chara gen i have to zoom out to see down to the feet but then i cant see anything in dungeons ie trip wires, and pressure plates. i tried typing in some console commands that don't exist for the camera but nothing. funny how a kid can adopt a kid lol

A completely blank armor, I couldn't come up with anything really since I have no idea how to actually apply a texture to a model in nifskope or anything.

I'll see what I can set up for you. All you will have to do is play with textures.  I think you are good at it and I'm curious to see what you can come up with.

Well that could possibly work.

The only caveat is that I'm mostly only interested in the more "cute" armors.

Got a good nights sleep (cat didn't decide to wake me in the middle of the night) and decided to play around with the rider dress some more.

Once I discovered that I could export a template of the texture from nifskope making overlays was so much easier.

I figured that since there were a lot of seams, I'd make use of them on the lower part making the inner pleat gold (kinda like a cheerleader skirt.)

I had a new sparkly green texture that I sangged off that site as well as some stained glass textures I wanted to try out.

So here's my new mage Poppy (who'll probably end up  as a Necromancer) modelling the new look.

Left side is just the translucent (50%) stained glass with gold trim, center is that texture over the sparkly green.  And I even did the collar this time. :)

5jwd.jpg

I'm not entirely sure I like the gold around the waist - I might go back and just have the lower seams in gold and not the waist.  The original plan had been to put gems in that gold around the waist, but once they were resized to fit the gem textures I had looked pretty crappy and like they were made of cloth so I didn't bother with them.   I should probably go back and put the stained glass overlay on the collar as well - not sure if it loosk quite right without it.

I wish I could get metal and gem textures actually shiny in game like they should be.  The gold in the seams looks ok, but the bit around the top doesn't look quite right to me.

You ever think of doing a dress with a regency waist (I think that's what it's called)?    Gathered tight right under the breasts and falling loose from there to maybe mid-thigh or knees.     Maybe a scoop or v-neck, with puffed sleeves like you used on the forrest mage outfit.

Could be cute, formal and kinda sexy and actually sort of fitting for Tamriel clothing - citywear anyway.

LDW ?

That poly count has to be outrageously high, but sure.

I dont know, Check your load order?  Something is changing the height after the COTS.

Nice work.

Poppy Huh?  Tapping the vein at such a young age. So sad.

I think I know what your talking about. If you notice, all of the skirts are short. Weighting then is an issue. Skirt bones are really inadequate for the job. They either tear in the back or stretch and twist in the front.

Is he running racemenu perhaps, that screws up the camera height (sets it back to default) even with the camera fix that's part of COTS.

The good news if it is that is disabling the racemenu mod pute the camera back where COTS put it.

Poppy was just because I wanted a kind of light fluffy name for her - the better to contrast with her being a Necromancer (same idea as a Slayer named Buffy.)

I did a search for redhead names and that was one that popped up and was the fluffiest of the lot.

RE: the dress,  Something like this

http://www.cloistersinspirations.co.uk/Regency%20Dress.jpg

only cinched in a little tighter under the breasts, and only mid thigh length instead of full length, since that's cuter and full length gowns are really suitable for adventuring in. :)

The upper part like those, but more this kind of length (or slightly shorter.)

A ribbon around the "waist" just under the breasts with a bow in the back, perhaps small bows on the puff sleeves - be very cute.

i don't have a race menu mod, unless it comes with COTS, by the way ashen followers crashes my game, installed nexus mod manager last night and i am loving it.

the reason i have two COTS races is because i didn't delete R1 but i'm gonna install it with nexus then uninstall it that problem is fixed, umm also i've been using console commands so maybe thats my problem with the camera but it could be my computer is two years old.

Create duplicate of Skyrim.ini and save it somewhere else or just rename the copy something like SkyrimORG.ini

Open Skyrim.ini with notepad

Drop these lines at the bottom for 3rd person (Copy / Paste)

It takes a while for camera adjustments to register when done via the ini. I recommend the Enhanced Third Person Camera mod if you want to mess with that.

So I tried a few more things with the rider dress, trying out some texture embelishments I'd snagged.

Used a different gold in the "creases" to match the color of the bolt-on ornamentation.

Unfortunately, while the texture itself looks good, and it looks fine in nifskope, once you get int he game there's an odd bend on the front of the dress I'd never noticed before, but which is VERY obvious with the ornamentation.

Oh Well, it's all good practice anyway.

is that poison ivy's new look? lol jk looks kool

thanks i'll give the ETP camera a look

[edit] blender would help but youd be doing alot more work

[edit] do i past that in the skyrimprefs.ini or the skyrim.ini?

[edit] save file dosen't load with that so i'll try the mod

Well since the Rider dress has that bend in it that precludes me doing more intricate looks, I think I'm done with it.

Went back to that Japanese model I snagged the other day and made a new look for it, suitable for Poppy's potential future as a Necromancer.

Silver web over black velvet with black satin trim.

It's truly amazing how much you can do with cut&paste and some color changes (I had no silver texture so I whitened a gold one I had.

EDIT

Went back and played with a few more things and came up with this.  A skull/flower/heart pattern in silver over the silver webbing.

Not entirely sure if I like it, but it is a bit more necromancery.

looks kool, xocyll.

the camera is still at head level but now it's centered

[Edit] looks better to me xocyll, if only i could use the CK or Blender

Everything I've doing is using the Gimp (Gnu Image Manipulation Program)

I used Blnder briefly with VTM:Bloodlines but never got the hang of it really.

Since I "upgraded" to a newer version it won't even import or export nifs anymore.

I can't model or create a texture from scratch, I just play with existing textures.  Literally eveything I do is cut&paste with a little color manipulation - anyone could do it.   Without someone else's work to start from I could do nothing.

I figured out what bugged me about the newer texture - the web went behind the skull eye sockets making the skulls indistinct and the outline hearts just get lost and became clutter.

So I redid it, this time putting the skull/flower/heart texture onto the black velvet, then trimming out the hearts and black around the skulls/flowers making sure the eye/nose sockets were still black, then overlaid that on the silver web on black velvet texture.

Looks a lot cleaner to my eyes now.

Not perfect but I think it will do.   Still a little cluttery where the web meets the flowers (and runs behind them,) but not offensively so.

what you could do is copy and past the textures together as a single texture, but otherwise looks great.

[Edit] If some one could direct me to an FAQ or something as to why ashen followers crashes my game that would be kool.

That's basically exactly what I do.  I make overlays from the original texture for an outfit, then paste each cutout over the texture I want there instead.

For the other stuff I take a texture like a spiderweb, create a cutout from it, then paste it over the texture I want it to have (in this case over silver) then delete the cutout color leaving only the silver web - the same with the skull/flower/hearts texture - I made a negative then slapped it on a silver texture giving me the skulls and such in silver.

Paste the web over the black velvet, paste the skull/flower texture on top of that, then slap on an overlay to snip out only the bits I need in the spots I need, then it's just a case os pasting those together with the trim bits which were a cutout placed over black satin and you've got one single texture.

It's actually really easy to do, just a bit finicky sometimes creating the overlays.  Once you get it down though you can do some pretty neat stuff - once you get some textures to use anyway and there's a site with loads that was posted a couple or three pages back, sharecg or something like that.

I actually had to create the silver web on black one a second time because I was trying some additional stuff (by pasting, exporting and seeing how it looked in nifskope, then if it looks bad, just undoing the action to remove the thing I pasted in - except GIMP crashed leaving the only save with the ugly thing I'd been trying.

So I had to stitch together the web texture, make the cutout again, the paste all the bits together again - only took about 30 mins the second time since I knew exactly what to do (and that time I saved the web cutout so I could use it again later and saved the main file to a backup so I'll always have it.)

Have you read the thread. I had tried it in the early days and it was having some issues on its own. I did not like it and uninstalled it.  I know its a long thread but your answer is probably in there somewhere.

It wasn't the split exactly.

If you compare the front and back shots and the gold trim I added, the back is straight and the front right is straight, but the front left of the skirt the texture bends oddly.   As though instead of sloping down evenly it suddely sticks out at a much sharper angle, then continues down at the old angle again.

Not really noticible with subtler textures but the gold accent made it very obvious.

I'm thinking about trying out some ideas on the "Penny" musketeer outfit - at least the core of it, since one of the textures I have has fleur-de-lis which I think could look good on it.

Damn this retexturing thing gets addictive.
