So I was searching for something on google when I came across an image of a very cute dress (no textures though) and after a couple hours wading through a Japanese board, which had among other things various pics of it in progress, I actually found a download link for it and did some playing of my own.

 

Top left is the original image, it's a slightly muddy dark blue, with grubby white trim.

Right of that is my White lace with pink trim version.  Did a less revealing lace this time with translucent white instead of empty space.

Bottom is my remake of the slave Leia chain version in gold chain and shortened (just thought I'd throw it in)

 

 

The original modeler had it made as a dress (and shoes and headribbon) to be worn and also as a mage companion - both found in the Orphanage basement in Riften.

I'm not wearing the headribbon because my character's head is slightly larger than COTS normal and the ribbon doesn't show at all on me.

I did a bit more playing around with some textures I had (when I inverted the pink it was an interesting green/teal color that I wanted to try on other patterns, then over a gold texture I'd found.)   A bit more playing and I did the trim in a moss green velvet texture I'd snagged, then decided to replace the green/teal with the velvet texture to match the trim and it came out pretty well.

It's all just cut&paste and color manipulation of existing textures, but I got a nice effect I think.

 

 

In fact I think this is the first one of mine that even approaches the texture quality of your stuff.

 

Tiled the gold texture, tiled the green texture, inverted the lace pattern to white, pasted over solid black, deleted the white texture to make  a negative, changed the black to cyan, then pasted it over the green, delete the cyan, copy and paste over the gold and there's a nice Moss Green Velvet over Gold texture.

 

Originally tried the gold as the trim but it wasn't shiny at all the way gold should be so I thought it would work better as a background for the green.

 

I like it anyway.

Nice.  I have that texture and I never would of thought to do that.  I just can't come up with things like that.  I'm envious of people that can create thing. I'm just a copy machine.

A completely blank armor, I couldn't come up with anything really since I have no idea how to actually apply a texture to a model in nifskope or anything.

(If i'd actually found this dress as the raw untextured model I'd originally seen, I could have done nothing with it, since there would have been no existing .dds to manipulate.

 

All I did here was take his original texture file and cut out the dress parts to make an overlay - later I did the same with the trim parts (collar, sleeve ends, tie, hem), color selecting the white and deleting it, then using the eraser tool to remove the "dirt" he had on them to make a second overlay.   Then it's just a case of setting up replacement texture files the same size and  pasting the overlays onto them, then pasting them back onto the original texture file.

I couldn't create a texture or a model to save my life - all I do is cut&paste.   Admittedly I'm quite good at it and can sometimes do things people who can actually create a raw texture wouldn't think of, but it's still just cut&paste. 

The downside of my technique is it requires you to have multiple GIMP windows open simultaneouosly and if you're working with 2k textures things can get pretty laggy at times under XP.   For this one I had the main texture, the dress cutout, the trim cutout, the lace cutout , the gold texture, the moss green texture and occasionally other textures I try (it was orignally a little more busy with a green lace over a different pattern black lace over the gold but I found you couldn't actually tell the gold was gold that way and green and gold looked better and "cleaner".)

 

I really need to go back to that site you linked to before (which is where I got the velvet and lace textures used here) and grab more textures now that I've figured out how to do slightly more elaborate overlays.

I always thought the "cups" are too big. Also the original is just glossy, and looks like plastic.

 

Excuse my ignorance, but could anyone explain to me how to find the Musketeer armour? I can not seem to locate it.

Lostdaywalker, I do not see an option for scaled at the forge. I cheated and just did the help musketeer and gave myself everything. A small request if you can do it. Can you make a larger version of the male hat? Maybe even 2 sizes larger? When wearing the ladys hat the hair clips thru the body, but the male hat doesn't change the hair you currently have and looks better. But I do have the issue with my hair clipping out of the top of the hat. Larger versions of the male hat would "fix" the hair clipping issue and you could do away with the female hat altogether. But it is no biggy, I am wearing the silverlight circlet with most of the light armor outfits you made.

Hi Lostdaywalker, thanks for the quick reply. I think wider and taller would work. Asis with the current hair I am using, it is almost wide enough, but my hair sticks out the sides at the top of the hat. Would probably be easier to add a photo. I will see what I can do about the photo and you can see whats up.

if anyone is interested. I D/Led and checked it out. You have to wear the full shirt for the pants to appear correctly and the shirt makes it appear you have larger boobs, but oh well, it's a good piece. None of those armors are actually armor though, just clothes. I love that you can mix and match stuff just like Lostdaywalker's stuff.

Oops.  I was rushing and forgot to answer the question.  Its already out there, and I have the jacket, so nah.  I like the old school (10 years ago) Tribal tattoos.  I should make some and put them on something.

That Scythe is out. I have seen it and probably have it. Its been re-textured, but I'm positive its the same. 

 

I'll take that cleaver though. Change the handle a little bit and shine it up.

1. Any animations work, scale of character is sometimes a problem.

 

2. COTS version 2 has both genders, no separate mod needed.

 

3. Get the Ashen Followers Mod, it adds some teens and with a quick change via the CK you can make them a playable race.

 

4. I never paid Nexus a thing and I download from them all the time. You can register with them for free, don't be suckered into paying for a premium account.
