AwfulArchdemon Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Heeeellppp I have been trying to get this to work and it's fine until I click on the race to become one, or when I load another save it CTD idk what to do. Do this. I have had that downloaded for a while because I also have the Ningheim race. Should I Uninstall then reinstall it? Yeah, I wouldn't have another race mod installed while using this one, especially considering this is already a custom race mod.

I use MO, and it wouldn't install properly, so I had to turn CotS into a bunch of mini mods and install those all individually, since the package comes with every option, and you can't use ever single option at once.

FencerB Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 · Hidden by BruceWayne, July 26, 2013 - No reason given Hidden by BruceWayne, July 26, 2013 - No reason given This mod needs killable/rapeable npc children. I've tried to get this to happen with the sex addicts mod and it does not work. I installed a killable children mod and this allowes rape of CotS R2 npc children but it messes up the npc body types. I end up with npc children that look like that player character on the left in a screenshot published by chinpoppo seen here on page 89 post 1764. http://www.loverslab.com/topic/3030-yii-techniques-labors-children-of-the-sky-r2-upd-0902/page-89 I was hoping someone knew how to fix this so that the non player children in children of the sky r2 look like they do in screenshots on page one and not messed up looking like that pc on the left in the screen provided by chinpoppo. The npc children of the sky r2 children need to be killable and rapeable but not have missmatched body types. I also encountered floating hair on the boys when using the killable children mod. I never had these problems with the R1 version of Children of the Sky.
billabo Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Can anyone tell me what music is used in the replacer? I'm wondering about one specific town one, and not the Final Fantasy track. Unfortunately I can't open the files and find out which file is the one I'm looking for... but I really want to know what the music is from! It's really great!

Sorry, the author has been MIA for while. I don't know where he got the music from. All the sounds are pretty great though. Just remember that even if you installed using NMM, you'll have to manually uninstall them, or you'll always have them.
Honesty Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Hot damn .. people still having issues with this mod ...? I honestly don't see how it's any kind of difficult to install. I should start directing people to this (my) specific post: 1.) !!!!!!INSTALL MANUALLY!!!!! 2.) Download CoTS and the update which adds Hearthfires and fixed hand-ness. 3.) This should be obvious: If you have hearthfires, replace the esp; if not, then don't. 4.) DO USE all the scripts it comes with, EXCEPT for the vampire and werewolf ones. If you have UFO, or UFO+Unofficial Skyrim Patch, it means to use these scripts as well, just not the ones mentioned. 4.5.) (... You CAN [and have to] use the vampire script (and werewolf I am assuming) if you would like to transform/become these.. however except some papyrus spam and/or plausible crashes.) 5.) Do not use any other custom race with this installed. 6.) Move xvisionchildren and COTS down the load order list. Should be near the bottom, but not at the very bottom. 7.) The Grey Face/Purple face "bug" is not a bug in itself; the .esp is looking for a folder/directory that it can not find, resulting in this shade of face. I don't have the nerve to search this topic, but you'll find your answer somewhere in here ... good luck : / 8.) If you have done everything correctly so far (new games/installs are recommended! For near-perfect non-fuckedup-ness) you should not be getting any CTDs or crashes at Startup nor when chosing a skychild caharacter. 9.) "Oh my geerd! NPC adults are all fine, but when I chose a nord character my face is messed up!!!!' <----- Disable CoTS if you want to play a big girl - this should be common knowledge in itself. If they still look "messed up" you can fix this by playing with the eye-depth sliders and whatnot to return to normal. 10.) Thats about it! Try to follow these directions. If there is even one or two things (maybe three!) you are ignoring out of pride, or whathaveyou, then it's your own fault(s).
AwfulArchdemon Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 I got my version packed nicely with MO-style .rar'ing. You install what you want. I get it @Honesty (don't get mad ). I wish I could upload a bigger file without something like Mediafire. I'd have posted each version, full compatible with MO, and instructions on how to make it NMM compatible, AND the manual install instructions (the README) a long time ago! JIITEK, COME BACK!!

Strayacunt Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Is it possible to just apply the CotS assets to NPC children? I'm not interested in the playable version, nor any of the player character changes. Basically I'm just interested in changing the potato face vanilla children, along with the clothes.

I'm not interested in the playable version, nor any of the player character changes. Basically I'm just interested in changing the potato face vanilla children, along with the clothes. Yeah, I don't think so. Most people will tell you to only use the xvisionchildren.esp if you just want the NPC replacer. But that doesn't work. It still replaces vanilla assets with the Children of the Sky ones. I found deleting the femalehead.nif that CotS installs, helps a bit and keeps your textures intact, but something still is replacing the head mesh somewhere else as well. And if you delete the CotS folders and files, and just keep the xvision stuff for the children, it messes up a lot of other things in the process. So currently, no. Even if you only use the xvisionchildren.esp, CotS still replaces vanilla assets whether you use the playable race or not. I've realized this when playing a Nord and having CotS installed. I didn't use the CotS race and only the children replacer, yet it still overwrites my vanilla races. Instead of having a natural "blocky" style face that the Nord has, it was all rounded and "chubby", regardless if you use the CotS race or not. Someone mentioned awhile back (cause I asked this same thing) that there was a way to remove all the files that overwrote the vanilla files, while keeping the children intact. But when I tried that, it just messed it all up and didn't seem to work. So unless someone does a new version of this mod, or Jittek comes back, kind of have to deal with the CotS race overwriting everything whether you want to use it or not.
rossignol Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Or, just use the original xvision mod from Skyrim. Not exactly replace children with CoTS, but will still replace npc with better looking models. Check on nexus.

I wouldn't use the one from Nexus. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/37478/? That adds more kids. Must have the original! Nexus version won't work with this.

I tried a lot of things with my limited mod knoledge, and unfortunately I was unable to have the mod changing only npc faces/clothes without touching all other races This is really frustrating, as the mod in itself is really good, but I guess I have to uninstall it and use xvision.
AwfulArchdemon Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 is there a patch for Children of the Sky to use for Dragonborn DLC? No. I don't think so, at least. It doesn't matter though. There's what, ONE kid in Solstheim? Edit: What sort of patch do need? Something not working? Mine worked fine in DB dlc...
WaxenFigure Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 is there a patch for Children of the Sky to use for Dragonborn DLC? Actually what you want (from your cross-post in the other forum) happens to have been linked in the post right above your post in this forum. It's not a patch to COTS though, it's a patch to the xVision mod which is what fixes all the potato headed children but it fixes that last potato head as well.
BBWolf128 Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I just got skyrim about two weeks ago and all of these various mods and load orders are more than a little bit overwhelming. I am not actually having a problem installing Children of the sky itself. I installed ApachiiSkyHair_v_1_5_Full Then I installed Children of the Sky - R1 then Children of the Sky - R2 I don't know if it was necessary to install R2 over R1, but it worked. The real question may be what else would you want or suggest and in what order do I install and load it to get it to work. UFO looks interesting. So does the extra choices from UNP. There is the utility - ShowRaceMenu PreCacheKiller There is - EnhancedCharacterEdit. Do I need this with UFO or do I need something like it? And all these other mods AshenFollowers0.93; b1-3 YChildren of the sky - NPC replacer; BreezehomeChildren; - Children of the Sky - Follower [bETA]; AdaliaFollower; x117 Bandits and Forsworn v1b2r2. Then there is the gear Children of the Sky - Gear; - lolilabs_armor_pack_v1. Downloaders and installers and such. Though I would prefer to manually install. Please help a guy out who just wants to set this up right the first time and then spend a few hundred hours playing the game.
