netweekr Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Seeing Purple: Downloaded the password protected CotS....... so far so good..... a bit disturbing..... but no more purple. purple? ...as in purple face textures when outdoors? ...if so can you pls help me resolve this issue, i been strugling with that issue for quite some time now I don't understand the problem. I use the dl link that LL gave me (a long ass time ago, right after jiitek made his -R.2.7.z). I've never seen this before. I've played CotS for a total of about 120 hrs, and nothing. Is this problem recent? Could there be something wrong with the dl link?? I have a fresh (old-as-hell) copy of the original, but I can't upload that big-ass motherf***er. Too gigantic. I don't want a membership to any uploading site either... i replaced some texture folders with the ones from R1 and my purple face issue is FINALLY FIXED!!! ...so much time strugling to fix that issue, thx for that reply it was of great help

If you're using MO, then this should be super easy. Just see if the problems come back, as one would expect, or if they're suddenly overwriten, and thus fixed. This would help yourself + others. This is MO. It kicks ass. It's what you use when relying on NMM is just costing you to much time, due to their servers acting up. What I wanted you to do, was add the head textures (nif files) from CotS to the new files you just used to fix your problem. Whatever you used to fix your problem, look for those same exact file names in CotS, and copy/paste them into your face. Then play, and see if the original faces turn purple, like they did before.

wimwinkle Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 All the boys have girls hair styles, I have tried deleting the boy hair styles from the mod and even all the hair styles but that only makes a few of the boy have skinheads the rest still have girl hair styles. Is there away to fix this or am I doing something wrong?

Then play, and see if the original faces turn purple, like they did before. ok, but i don't think thats what did the trick for me, so here's what i did: 1.- REMOVED my current "oriental" texture folder and replaced with the one from CotS version R1 2.- OVERWROTE FaceGenData and Female folders that are also in the texture "character" folder with ones from R1 (tested the game and saw my purple face issue was gone) Optional: 3: took my old "oriental-female" textures and i placed them back but making sure theirs no extra textures that are not suposed to be there acording to the files that are now in my new "oriental-female" texture folder wich i took from R1, what im saying is that if theirs 16 texture files in your "oriental-female" folder you only want to replace those 16 textures files and not end up with extra files somehow Now i have no issue and i'm still using basicly the same textures i had before, just wanted to give you an idea of how i managed to fix it, ill still try to do what you asked but i can't at the moment, so just give me a few days cause I want to do a full backup of my massive 31Gb skyrim with 250+mods before i mess my game files somehow.

I was just thinking that if your faces turned purple when you tried to use the R2 textures after your fix, then you'd know there's something wrong with those files, and might wanna redownload R2. It might be fixed for good now though (that's what I think). Putting the R2 tex's in now might not be a problem anymore. I'm only mentioning redownload because I never had that problem, and I've been using CotS R2 for ages now. Couldn't be the textures from CotS R2 doing that, but your fix makes me think...well, it confuses me, frankly. Don't worry about. At 200+ mods, you have enough to worry about.
Buggy Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 How do I make the NPC Children in this mod killable? Various killable children mods do not work. Disable that mod and throw it in the Recycle Bin. Next, install X-Vision Children. I know it's already part of this mod, but if you're not already able to (Ahem!...) kill them, this should solve it. There's also this... (...runs away...........) Unfortunately, Stranger Danger doesn't work. It makes the skin color of the head different from the skin color of the body. xvision and its hearthfire patch will make the kids have permanent underwear, which looks really ugly. Any other suggestions?

I really don't think so. No good one's at least. I'd be really surprised to see someone post a link to one here... My DB child is always naked . I don't know how to put her in clothes. I think I got an answer for this in another thread, but I can't remember which one. I've been on dozens of threads.

I was kind of hoping xvision changed every child regardless if they were not directly intended to be affected by the mod. I'm one of the people that thinks Skyrim is woefully underpopulated, i have a bunch of mod that remedies that by adding inconsequential npcs into towns and such, but kids brought by such mods become mounstrous apparitions (more monstrous than their default potato state of being) with CoTS installed. As much as I love CoTS, the issue I recently mentioned and the mod messing with my facegen just does it for me.

X-Vision needs to load after CotS. It will ask you if you wanna overwrite. Say yes.

Do this. I have had that downloaded for a while because I also have the Ningheim race. Should I Uninstall then reinstall it?
