hafertaler Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 If I remember correctly the trapdoor only exists if you use the Loli Armor Pack. I think you should be able to create the armor from the op (most of it at least) at every forge/tanning rack. You could also look at the "island" in Riverwood where the sawmill is at, I recall some urns having some of the armor parts. If the two options before don't work out you have to use the console, "help x117" should show most of the armors.

plasism Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Do I really need to start from a clean save to use this mod? I wanted a mod that changes the appearances of Children (becuz adopting potato heads is a torture), but not at the expense of starting over.Â
AwfulArchdemon Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 You not only have to start from a clean save, you have to start a new game. This is a custom race (very custom). If you want kids to look like human beings, use X-Vision Children. It sounds pervy, but it's just a kid overhaul. Also, it makes them killable, so be careful. You do not need to start a new game to use it, but I'd make a clean save just to be careful. Hopefully, you realize that a "clean save"Â does not mean start a new game.

Yes, I know it is "usable" with SL but it has positioning issues.
mjrocks Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Hair mods don't seem to work on this. If it does please help!!!
AwfulArchdemon Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Hair mods don't seem to work on this. If it does please help!!! Which hair mod(s) are you trying to use? I know the Apachii Hair npc overhaul works with it, if you are looking for hair for others, and, well...I think I got them ALL to work, actually. I use Apachii overhaul, Apachii Hair (just for your pc), and SG Hair, and they worked for me.
Demonwise Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I know I am going to probably state the obvious in a moment but here it goes. Is this mod pretty much dead? Almost every link posted on the first page is dead and it looks like there haven't been any updates for quite a long time.

Almost every link posted on the first page is dead and it looks like there haven't been any updates for quite a long time. The mod is dead, unless someone knows the form ID, and knows how to do this stuff and wants to resurrect it. The THREAD, on the other hand, still lives! Plenty of people still use it, and many more will. It remains largely compatible with all of the updates Skyrim and mods have had, so hey, if it still works, I say a new version isn't truly necessary. jiitek did a great job, and from what WaxenFigure says, he may return any day now, and his mysterious disappearance is nothing new.
brokenwing Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Any idea if there will be any texture replacers for the bodies in the future? The textures included are decent but shys in comparison to the standard texture mods for the UNP CBBE variants and it would be great if there's any WIP.
hafertaler Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 As far as I know you can use nearly any unp texture out there, like this one for instance:Â http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/36425/
keegan101 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 So I have encountered an issue whilst using the creation kit. I'll start from the beginning:  The mod itself is working fine for me, the race is in racemenu, the different hairstyles are all selectable (despite me not having apachi hair installed) So I used showracemenu to create a face I wanted for an npc, and used the SPF command to export the face. I then used wyre bash to convert COTS into a .esm file, and opened it up in the creation kit. I then created a new npc with the x117 race, and imported my face from earlier. All this works fine, except for an error message along the lines of: 'Empty TRI file in meshes/hair/etc.' In the charactergenparts tab of the CK, the hair is on HairFemaleNord08, but there are no other options. However, the hair showing in the preview window is not a vanilla hair. Since then I have downloaded and installed Apachi hair, edited my editor ini file to allow multiple master data files, and loaded them all together. The problem still persist... any help would be greatly appreciated, and any more info can be provided if necessary.  Thanks, Keegan  EDIT: I think that perhaps manually selecting a TRI file would help, does anyone know how to change the default path the CK takes to get it's hairstyles from? Oh and another thing: If I change the race to Nord, all the vanilla hairs are selectable. It's only in this race I have an issue...  EDIT: I found a sort of workaround for anyone else with this issue how stumbles upon this post from a google search... I managed to get some hairs working (no apachi ones but still high poly hairs from the base COTS) by dragging them from the objects window into the head parts section of the edit window. When selecting apachi hairs it makes the character bald, and most of the other hairs are positioned wrong, resulting in a half-bald npc... any help would still be appreciated.
suechan Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Hello, I installed your CotS mod and it works fine for me. But one thing looks strange... I gave my daughter a present... a yellow dress. Now she went to bed and I see her naked with invisible feet O.o  I deinstalled the mod and installed it again with NMM but she is still naked What did I do wrong? D:    Â

AwfulArchdemon Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I don't think that's true. There simply must be more to it than that. I've heard a lot of people complain that their kid goes buck nekkid when you give her a dress. I've also heard that giving her the dress and another gift in the same conversation works. Â However, I've never seen this happen before, and I've used CotS a lot of times, with a lot of different mods (I use different mods with every new game I start). I always use both CotS and X-Vision Children though, so that could be why. Might wanna give it a shot. If you do, remember XVC goes after CotS.
uguu123 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 cots - separate race, you can wear anything, like for any other.  original skyrim kids - have 3 (5 with DB) hardcoded outfits, they cant wear anything another  xvision is about changing outfit meshes and facegen data, same for cots, but cots have their own path to head meshes and other body parts thats why "special" version of xvision is required here
keegan101 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 You could try using the fashion designer mod to equip the child's clothes by hand. I've never had any issue with it...
emilyadler87 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Which mods work well with CotS? Â I am on my very first play-through and so far I have only installed CotS + the armor pack and the followers mod. I feel I am lacking a lot of general aesthetics and nuances when I compare my game with the screen shots people post. Which mods are recommend? Â (I am also running SKSE + FNIS + SkyUS)

(I am also running SKSE + FNIS + SkyUS) I wouldn't use any other race mods, but other than that, I've yet to see a mod that doesn't work with CotS.  Obviously, I'd recommend all the outfits lostdaywalker made. Anything ought to work with CotS.  OH! Don't use Racemenu (mod). That's incompatible. Don't use stuff that changes your looks, height, or anything that alters your PC's looks in general, though I believe things like Coverwomen and Better Females by Bella will work fine.  I also recommend Breezehome Children, if you want random kids roaming around your house...for some reason. Also, I always use X-Vision Children with it (load after CotS).

Nothing special about the one I use.  btw, No matter what I dress a kid in when using CotS with XVC, they wear it. Vanilla clothes, CotS clothes, anything at all.
keegan101 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Also, race menu mod is compatible for me, I just have to use it twice for it zoom to the right height. I don't use the height slider because it fucks it up, but the face stuff works great. I then export my faces with SPF command and adjust the height in the CK. I remember having an issue in race menu a while ago where it made COTS race really tiny, but then I put the killlable children mod after COTS in my load order and that solved it.
Albiuxas Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I don't know if this has been asked before, but in the screen shots for Ritter armor, what mod is the sword from?Â

Demonwise Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 yeah so for some reason all my children now appear to be weird half human half lizard kids. Their heads are fine but everything from the neck down looks like a custom Argonian texture and mesh including revers articulated claw feet. I don't know what I did wrong in the installation (if that is even the problem). I installed it using the NMM installer and had the issue and then I went back through the zip file and installed the meshes and textures manually. Oddly I can't find the mesh that the game is using for the children, the one in the zip file is clearly human.
