Thank you very much for creating this mod, I love it, finally I don't have to look at those ugly potatoe faces the original kids have.

I tried a skychildren to see how it is and I found it...a little bit pedo, but it's worth it, my son and daughter don't look like their faces are melting anymore :)

I know jiitek has real life issues, but I hope he can upload R3 sometime soon... From his lasts posts he seemed to be almost done with it.

Hello :) don't laugh, I'm newer to PC gaming (I'm a converted diehard consoler)...anyway, I have everything working great, found the Osare vendor at coc qasmoke, but I can't find any of the armors in this DL in the game. They're downloaded and installed through the Nexus Mod Manager, but they're nowhere to be found. What am I missing? Is there a store/merchant in a particular town that sells the outfits exclusively? I scoured both the old 128 page thread and this new one and haven't seen this question. Any help would be awesome! Thanks so much!!

 

And big thanks for the great MOD...I played the game to death on PS3, then heard that this makes the game a little more interesting :) I'm amazed that this level of modification is possible...you all make it look so easy ;)

 

First off make sure to unzip the Children_of_the_Sky_-_Gear.7z, and add those individual .rar(s) to NMM. (otherwise NMM will install them in the wrong place).

 

I couldn't find them in coc qasmoke (I just used it for the first time to look for the gear). What I do is type in console: help 'name of armor' [e.g. help cute (for cute knight armor retouch)]. Then take note of the 8-digit code and type: player.additem 8-digits # (#=amount). 

 

Hopefully this works, I can't tell for sure since my character is a boy and most if not all the gear is for girls.

I try to play as a sky-kid, but every time I swap my gender to female, the game crashes. How do fix?

 

I have Hearthfire DLC. NO other mods that conflict with Children of the Sky. That I know of, at least.

Thanks, Eshier! That was it...i didn't even think to look in the master zip file to see the format of the armor files. Worked perfectly! And now to find more armor ;)

You may not have the same problem as me but go into your data folder and find actors\character\Character Assets\hair and copy ones that aren't in a custom mod folder (like apachii and what not) into a backup folder (just move it back if this doesn't work) to test if any hair that replaces default ones are doing it. I think Cots comes with some? correct me if I'm wrong. ^^;

 

 

 

 

Nope, No luck. I even removed ALL hair in that area, and replaced everything in Textures... still no fix. The NPC faces using COTS are all dark, while the bodies are standard skin tone.

MY ORIGINAL PROBLEM SOLVED .. I was a dummy and forgot to copy one script (OrientalRaceController) ... everything fine now.

 

 

I present you with YOUR SOLUTION TO YOUR LOLI CAM/HEIGHT SETTINGS!! A lot of people still think it's either too tall/doesn't get any shorter/doesn't work anymore ... well, here is the stuff you need:

 

I provided a .txt document with the camera settings you need to add to skyrim.ini, you must add under papyrus/water settings:

"[Camera]
fOverShoulderCombatAddY=0.0000
fOverShoulderCombatPosZ=-40.0000
fOverShoulderCombatPosX=15.0000
fOverShoulderCombatPosY=0.0000
fOverShoulderPosZ=-40.0000
fOverShoulderPosX=15.0000
fOverShoulderPosY=0.0000"

 

and I also provided a true, loli-1st person skeleton, which needs to be placed in meshes>actors>character

 

 

Once you have added these files, zoom out, go into combat mode, swing a little bit, put away fists/weapon, go back into first person, and zoom out again. You should have a nice camera setting/position and all should be well. Shouldn't have to do this again.

 

Warning however, if you play as a non-kid, you will still have the low first-person camera height and the 3rd person camera fixes ... you will have to delete the camera section, and remove the skeleton file from 1st_person folder.

Do you have the newest version of Race Compatibility mod? It can prove to be especially important if you have any other custom races (if you do you can also try to put CotS on the bottom of mod list). I don't have any other ideas but somehow it sound to me like a case of wrong mod order. Also, if you use any kind of mod that may modify race menu sliders you may try to put it above/below (depending on where it is now) CotS, Race Compatibility and Apachii.

Thanks, HDS - problem solved. I forgot to move a single file over. I hope everyone sees the First person/3rd person camera settings and skeleton I posted as well. This skeleton is from a while back, when it was completeloli .. before Revision 1? Anyway, this was the only 1stperson skeleton I was ever happy with. Other releases were too tall or didn't work at with latest updates.

 

This skeleton is eye-level with your girls/boys eyes. You can go into 3rd person and see for yourselves :D You'll be about under a nord man's nip's in first and third.

when i give her the normal girl dresses she gets naked or half naked some times and changes to random skychildren clothes other times :(

I don't want her to wear the same clothes for every >.<

Hm I assume your problem's different from mine then. Sounds more like a face tint issue rather than the greyface thing I had. Does it affect only cots? or have you had a mod affecting children before? you could try just moving it around in the load order. My face issue after getting cots showed up on redguards and elves as well so it's probably not similar. Sorry for not being helpful after all ^^;

Hi, I would like to add this mod but before I do I have a few questions. Before I ask I will say I am running version 1.8 not 1.9 , I have all DLC and no installed 3rd party races. Also I have no intent ever to actually play as a child and would like to add this to an existing game as I just managed a full playthru yet after 4 attempts (thanks for that Bethsoft, bastards!).

Anyway rather than stumble around in the dark trying to get this mod up and running so I can get a few more interesting followers based on CoTS, I thought someone might be nice enough to make suggestions as to which files to install based on my aforementioned build, preferably the Modder but I won't turn my nose up to any knowledge. Thanks in advance.

I spend an hour and a half trying to remove a virus I got from one of the websites linked to for the mod.

 

EDIT: I don't know what happened, but the first time it gave me an executable, next time, it gave me the actual file.

 

Seriously, just upload the file to something like mediafire. Save people the hassle.

Of course you can just install Children Of The Sky and then disable the mod (don't load the esp).  Then you get the updated children but you don't get the additional race.

Nexus won't host this and they're not real nice people there anyway.  They are also a competing site so why should we post there?

 

This was one MediaFire but they went all strange on us and deleted most of the mods from LoversLab including this one so alternate sites were required (something you'd know if you'd read the thread) and those lesser known hosting sites are lesser known because they are trying to hook you in some way.

When people blindly click though prompts without examining what they are doing they will indeed get crap loaded onto their system.  What you needed to do was uncheck the "Use Download Accelerator" option because that really just installs AdWare on your computer and then downloads the file.  Not using their "accelerator" means you just get the file.   What you installed wasn't technically a virus but it does come close, it certainly isn't just an "accelerator"  as advertised but that's the price you have to pay when you are forced to use less common hosts.

 

Now you know what happened and why.
