Solarus Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 ive been trying to get dual sheath redux to work with this mod but it doesnt work right so i tried to figure out how to change it myself but it seems like you need a model editing program because nifskope cant do it and i cant get blender to work can someone give me advice or can someone make a xp32 maximum skeleton scaled for this mod? it gives the race curvy hips and stuff that i dont want
CrunchButtsteak Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Okay guys I've had this problem for a while now. No matter what I do, the 1st person camera height is always default. I even downloaded the new fix in post #569 and yet the camera stays the same no matter what I do. is there any way to force it through the console or something?

Try disabling the RaceMenuPlugin.esp, if you haven't. I know having it enabled causes problems of this sort.
chan Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 i have a issue with the first person view, it stay at the height of the normal skeleton, even if i had installed the one in the CotS archive or the one i've found two or three pages earlier. it's quite disturbing to have a character that is nearly the half of a npc height in third person view and nearly the same in first view. Can you help me ? Edit : i even tried the mod "The joy of Perspective" without any result Thanks a lot. Spicycat Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I just posted an edited skeleton that should be compatible with the x117 female skeleton, but that is basically an edited xp32/Chesko skeleton with all that that implies. Here're a couple of screenshots from my current game after I dropped the skeleton in: Edited - Ok, I'm an idiot for testing this on stairs. The skeleton is hovering! I guess I need to work on this more.
Spicycat Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Ok, I fixed the hovering issue! Also, it's compatible with the Dual Sheath Redux mod, found at http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34155//? Here's a screenshot of two staves sheathed on my back: This is only the female x117 skeleton, I haven't edited the male skeleton. To 'install' it, I renamed it to 'skeleton_female_x117.nif', then copied it into my data tree, replacing the ones in data/meshes/actors/characters/xvisionc/character assets/, data/meshes/actors/characters/Oriental/x117/, data/meshes/actors/characters/character assets/, and data/meshes/actors/characters/character assets female/ So far everything seems to be fine.
Spicycat Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I tried to make a version that's a little larger, in line with the children in Whiterun, but when I did I found that Braith got scaled up to almost as tall as an adult. >_< So if I release a scaled-up skeleton, would someone like to go through and edit any child that suddenly pops up in height because they're being scaled up from the normal x117 skeleton?

The proportions are the same as x117, yes. It also has points on the skeleton for things like the belt-mounted quiver, dual sheaths, and apparently dismemberment and disembowelment. Yay. Also staves and shield sheathed on the back.
Spicycat Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I uploaded the male version of the skeleton at http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/175-xpms-chesko-skeleton-x117nif/ This is one I haven't tested yet, since I don't have a male Child of the Sky to drop the skeleton in on. If anyone would like to test this for me, please let me know how it works for you. Edited - I'll use it in my game anyhow, maybe the children in Whiterun will use it when I replace the normal skeleton_x117.nif with the new one.

That worked, but for some odd reason the PC is always shorter. >_< Also, the NPC I'm using to compare heights is missing her hands when I do that. I don't really know enough about what I'm doing yet... I used scales between 0.66 and 0.69, depending on the original scale in the CK. I'll try again with smaller scales, maybe 0.45-0.5, and post how it works.
Spicycat Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 No, 0.66 to 0.69 looks right. 0.5 is wa~ay too small. I can't get the hands to show up, so I'm going to just give up for now and enjoy my dual sheaths and stuff.
PixelShooter Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Ok, so, I have an issue. I don't know if this is solely the mod, or if its a combination of conflicting mods, but.... When I talk to NPC children, they seem to look "down" to me in 3rd person mode, like, their eyes divert towards my character's chest, even though my character is roughly the same height. I tried a re-install, as well as clearing out the entire Skyrim folder before re-installing, but that didn't seem to fix anything. I'm not a modder and all this modding stuff is FM (fricking magic) to me but I use the ones I like. If I understand you correctly and if I recall correctly, in the old thread that has been locked for comments there was a comment that if you stood too close to the other children when talking to them, they would look down at you. I checked this out way back when I installed COTS and COTS2 when it came out and it did happen that way. If I backed off some, they would look me in the eye. Not sure if you are standing too close but that is the only time this happens to me.

waspdeath Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I'm never good at understanding what is causing what to change in this mod. I haven't used Yune as a follower-- I'm not partial to that hairstyle; besides, I like Nila's "Teddy Shield." But, the last time I visited the Sleeping Giant, I was appalled to see that Yune had apparently been afflicted with progeria-- she suddenly had the face of a ninety-year old. If possible, I'd like to cure her. I don't have to see her often, but I feel sorry for her. I am also unclear on how the orphan in Whiterun changed races, and acquired a distinctly un-childlike visage. To make matters worse, she appears to be the doppelganger of another dark-skinned girl in Solitude (I think it was Solitude... I'm still not that good keeping some of these cities apart). I'd like to change her (Lucia?) back to her original race, face and hairstyle, if that's possible. I'm never good at understanding what is causing what to change in this mod. I'd like to change her (Lucia?) back to her original race, face and hairstyle, if that's possible. this has happened to me as well. i thought i fixed it, but apparently not. some of the children NPCs appear to have adult heads. some of them don't. NPCs out in the wild (like bandits and forsworn skychildren) never have this problem and a skychild i create never has that problem. it happened ever since i got Dawnguard. frankly, sifting through 200 pages of out of date posts to troubleshoot what is going on has been a headache. with Jitek gone, you don't know the innerworkings of the mod and the "fixes" i found all involve manual work with a risk of breaking the Nord race (they appear to be tied.), it's like navigating a maze. until Jitek returns, i will either play with it as is or remove it later. (it also causes dark face issue with nord races.) This issue is most likely caused by a bad load order. Make sure that "xvisionchildren.esp" is loaded before "YChildren of the Sky.esp" in your mod load order. Also, you'd generally want those two mod files much lower in your load order (i.e. near the bottom). I'd recommend using BOSS to manage your load order: it's a masterlist that analyses what mods change/add and will set the load order for the least clashes between them. You can get it here. Another possible issue is that you aren't using the proper "xvisionchildren.esp" for what other mods you have installed. There are different versions that are required for if you have Hearthfire, or if you don't. Both options should have been included in whatever you downloaded it from. I hope this helps you two! can you be more specific on the proper xvisionchildren.esp part? better yet, where did you obtain yours? i can't even remember where i got mine. i got it not intending to get this mod. i discovered this later.
Elwin Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 As for the followers, take a look at these, it includes 3 boys to follow you and they are standalone. You can find some gear here as well.I'm still looking for a fix to war paint, eyeliners and lips color mesh missmatch, they are not centered, and i don't know how to fix that, any suggestions?

chan Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 The 1st person view will only go up to the vanilla size if you are using a BBP 1st person skeleton. The 1st person skeleton in this mod will drop the view back to the correct height. Make sure you have it installed in the correct directory.
Meng Yi Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 well, i have checked the installed skeleton, even using yours in the right location. JerWA Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Too many replies to address them individually, so take this if you want. This includes an updated XPMS skeleton (just like the original, just a newer XPMS base) with the same proportions but 1 scaling like the engine expects. This requires both CoTS and XVision to be changed to scale properly in-game, which is also included. This fixes: First person camera scaling (auto adjusts to player height regardless of what you set it to) Character not looking at the camera during creation Characters not looking at the camera during dialogs Character being too short to see during creation A bunch of unneeded records have been removed from the ESP A lot of hair assets marked as unplayable have been returned to playable A lot of eye assets that were marked unplayable for other races (limiting what you could choose when creating another race) have been returned to playable, for CoTS race as well. These changes impact no other race, so it also removes some negative impacts to non-CoTS races as a side bonus. Known issues where I left off: The ESPS require 1.9+ and DAWNGUARD. My fault, I was using the updated race compatibility (which I highly recommend). I've posted these only as a temporary thing for people to muck around with, not a "real update" to the mod itself. Still waiting on jiitek for that. Weapon placement is not perfect, there is some clipping. It's not hard to fix, I just haven't put any time into it. This does not fix sitting height as that's an animation change, not in the ESP or skeleton. I don't think this fixes horse riding height either, though I think that IS in the skeleton or ESP so might be something that can be looked into. This does not touch the male skeleton at all. There are CoTS specific eye shapes that will only work with CoTS eyes. If you want to use other eyes you have installed and they are not lining up with the eye sockets, change eye shape. This is confirmed to work for tons of add-on eyes. This does not separate the player skeleton from the children skeleton (the female skeleton from CoTS is used for both). Feel free to download this and take it apart to work on your own updates or just take the bits you want if you don't want the accidental dawnguard master. CoTS R2 - SkeletonPlus Update 001
Joespud Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 all of the children in my game seem to either be missing clothes or body parts and hair. Mostly their torsos and their hands are purple. I added the recent children of the sky mod and gear mod. was i supposed to ad another mod?

MidbossVyers Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 3 questions. Does this mod need any race compatibility mods, and if so, which ones? Secondly, I know there was this problem with x117 races in Oblivion, but does this mod have any problems with clipping while wearing helms and/or circlets that don't completely "change" the head, such as the Masque of Clavicus Vile? Finally, has anyone made a Savior's Hide for this body type?
