I spend an hour and a half trying to remove a virus I got from one of the websites linked to for the mod. EDIT: I don't know what happened, but the first time it gave me an executable, next time, it gave me the actual file. Seriously, just upload the file to something like mediafire. Save people the hassle. Nexus won't host this and they're not real nice people there anyway. They are also a competing site so why should we post there? This was one MediaFire but they went all strange on us and deleted most of the mods from LoversLab including this one so alternate sites were required (something you'd know if you'd read the thread) and those lesser known hosting sites are lesser known because they are trying to hook you in some way. When people blindly click though prompts without examining what they are doing they will indeed get crap loaded onto their system. What you needed to do was uncheck the "Use Download Accelerator" option because that really just installs AdWare on your computer and then downloads the file. Not using their "accelerator" means you just get the file. What you installed wasn't technically a virus but it does come close, it certainly isn't just an "accelerator" as advertised but that's the price you have to pay when you are forced to use less common hosts. Now you know what happened and why. I never accepted the "accelerator", nor did I see an option to disable it. And as for that first site, it wouldn't let me do much of anything before trying to force-feed the .exe to me.

From the OP: [iNFO] - Adds a race - Sky Children. - Changes all children NPC to Sky Children. - The mod is mostly standalone - some vanilla character creation assets like morph, hairs and brows get replaced. [READ THIS] [HOW TO] - Install this mod manually: - Just drop the data folder out of the Main folder to your skyrim root folder merging /overwriting existing files. - The data structure should look like this afterwards: ...\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\xvisionchildren.esp ...\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\YChildren of the Sky.esp e.t.c. ...\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\Meshes\... ...\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\Textures\... e.t.c. - Make sure the .esp`s are activated in your launcher. - It is recommend that the Children of the Sky .esp`s are last in your load order. After that you can apply any of the options. These are mini mods to modify the main mod even further to your liking. Install them just like the main mod - always copy the "data" folder to your skyrim root and overwrite. OPTION - Flat Chest - flat chest for females. OPTION - Prepatched Slider Colours Version - enabling much more colour tones for skin, hair, lips and warpaints. Essential if you want for example lightest skin colour OPTION - Sitting Height Fix - correcting the players sitting height but female adault NPC will sometimes sit to high. OPTION - First Person Camera-Height Fix - lowers the first person camera-height - permanent change for all races - remove file to change height back. OPTION - Female Children NPC Original Cloth - use this if you prefer the original cloth design. OPTION - Hearthfire Addon - use this if you have the Heartfire DLC installed - changes the new Heartfire Children to Sky Children. OPTION - Female Player Voice Replacer - replaces the female player voice with a younger one suited for the Sky Children. OPTION - Additional Female Player Voice - enables additional female player voice suited for Sky Children - which you can enable /disable ingame via spell. OPTION - Ui Sound-Fx Replacer - replaces the ui sound fx + some weapon sounds /impacts. OPTION - Music of the Sky - replaces the game music with classic RPG tunes [sample included]. OPTION - Default Female Texture Set - this female texture set gets installed by default - clean face - default details. OPTION - 2cnd Female Texture Set - an alternative female texture set - rougher face - fuller lips - alternative details. OPTION - Female Basic Animations Replacer - replaces female animations - Fight + Magic, Highelf Idle, Move + Jump. OPTION - RaceCompatibility Fixes - Dawnguard ... - use these vampire /transform related compatibility fixes if you have the Dawngard DLC installed. [REQUIRED] There are several situations where it is best to start a new game for the mod to work properly. For example: - PC /NPC appearance maybe wrong - relations: reset race, clean save, location of save, mods you have /had installed e.t.c. - If you have the Dawngard DLC installed and want to use the Dawngard RaceCompatibility fixes - they may not work right without starting new. [KNOWN ISSUES] - If using OPTION - flat chest no weight slider is supported. - If using OPTION - flat chest or males always set your weight to 0 (minimum) to avoid getting a neck seam. - If using OPTION - First Person Camera-Height Fix and move close to NPC children they will look down instead looking in your eyes. - OPTION - sitting height fix is a "dirty fix" - sometimes you will see female NPC`s sitting a little to high. - If wearing male vanilla armor with naked neck /arms there will be a little gap. - If using Ashen Followers v0.90 together with Children of the Sky -R2 there is a small problem where male adaults using the wrong eye assets in character selection screen. - Character selection screen height is wrong - read the Notes and Personal Recommendations for the best solution to this. [NOTES AND PERSONAL RECOMMENDATIONS] - I do not recommend the use of modifications that add much additional hair if you dont really need them. You will get laggy /crashy character selection screen and freeze /ctd if using "showracemenu" [this is a general problem and not related to Children of the Sky]. - The character selection screen at game start is to high for CotS. I recommend to just pick one of the presets and modify your chars appearance later via showracemenu. Example: play through helgen and find a good place in terms of lightning - while in 3rd person - open the console and type without brackets: "tfc" - hit enter and move your camera close to your chars face - type "showracemenu" - and edit your char to your liking. The light in helgen is not good for skin /character creation that is why I dont do it there. If your game freezes after typing "showracemenu" there are several things you can do: - Deactivate hair mods. - The showracemenu command works best when theres not much going on ingame for example: - Inside a building, when naked, when no one follows you, with as few NPC in background as possible e.t.c. - For a better visual experience I recommend to use a shader engine like: SkyRealism - ENB Evolved: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23765 - Personally I recommend a clean install and a new start with R2. - I also recommend to use OPTION - Prepatched Slider Colours Version - the presets may look slightly wrong without it. - If you want to play a none Sky Children character while Children of the Sky is installed I recommend to deactivate "YChildren of the Sky.esp" otherwise you wont be able to select certain character creation assets. Edit: figured it out. use the xvision esp from the optional hearthfire folder from the main file. do not use the .r2 esp fix for hearthfire.

If jiitek is simply bored with working on this, I hope it can be given to someone else to continue development. I am really happy with this mod now but I would like to see it work well with other race mods installed (and existing races), like Monli for example. Does anyone know of any mods that add more eye options and maybe other face features as well, like mouths and noses, that work well with COTS? I tried "the eyes of beauty" from nexus and they just don't line up right with my COTS characters.

Highly recommend using TES5Edit by ElminsterAU [http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25859//?]. It is very easy to install in your Skyrim directory and will detect many conflicts that cause games to crash on startup. Using TES5Edit will have you up and running within a few minutes rather than waiting hours or days for help from a forum.

Elwin Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Hello, first of all, thanks a lot for this mod!, I've been looking for something like this for a while now in the *cough*Nexus*cough* without success, it's good to know that's not the only place to find mods I'm having a minor issue though, when I make a male child when i go to the "lips color" option on the "showracemenu" option the colors seem out of phase, like the color of the lips are slighty to the left part of his face, same thing happens with war paint and eye liner, anyone have had the same issue?, I've even tried with different texture mods, but can't make the color fit the mesh.PS: sorry for my bad english.

By outfits do you mean childrens clothing for NPCs? (e.g. not armor and such for yourself) You'd have to set it in the ESP, any change you make in-game will be undone as soon as they respawn (like when the cell reloads). There's another mod, unrelated to this one (or at least not specific to this one) for changing NPC clothing that others have reported works with CoTS NPCs. Read a few pages back in the thread.

However when I use it on other children it does change. Anyone know how to fix this? Are there any files I need to change around, from the regular mod to the follower mod or something?

Check this thread for armors/clothing for this race: lostdaywalker has made countless outfits for Children of the Sky, and he's not done yet.
