I don't know. Can't be that you have something overriding her data so it must be something with the hair itself, but those sorts of problems tend to crash Skyrim. You're playing with SE, right?

I have tried again. Now the lines came. Must be a hiccup of the engine. 

I Liked how the Jarl has a urgent business.

I remember hearing that line from the original mod and then nothing happened. I made sure to do something about that.

I was referring to the MNC port for SE (current;y 12.0.6).  If MadMansGun is making changes to MNC for oldrim it may take a while to trickle into the SE port (which I think Pfiffy handles).  I could be way off base, I'm sure all of this will be sorted in time.

I'll be duplicating the full (only have part of it now) fix with my 0.2 so that shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't want, let alone ask, either of them to release a new version just because of this. Obviously nobody else is using the BareHuskyCompanionRace so it can wait.

Tried the 0.1.1 file (from post 140), with a female character, worked fine, but had two issues:

  1. Bailey was invisible (this is probably just something on my end, I will figure it out for the next beta test).  Only mentioned in case it is not just on my end.
  2. Male moaning heard upon re-entering the mansion.  This was mentioned previously by another user, but thought I'd mention it.  It may have been after getting the time extension, in which case it may just need to be changed to a female sound as this is when Bailey and Theana are busy upstairs about to be discovered.

Feedback:

-the new backstory dialog was well written and seemed to fit with the character/story (good job)

  1. In AMP when you obtain the horse there is a bunch of crude banter from the blind salesman, I found it funny (everyone else is so 'classy' by comparison), hope you can keep some of that low brow humor in AMX.
  2. From the first page I see you want to include some faction that does not approve of the mansion or its activities.  In the Oblivion mod "Bitches Gone Wild" (I think that is what it was) there was a point where a faction in Corrol had a problem with the PC and the shop in question.  Sort of a morality issue if I recall.  The quest required you to 'deal with it' by obtaining a special staff, then doing some stuff in public to stir up the townsfolk, then finally 'converting' over the problem faction/NPC's using the spell from the staff to force all the problem NPC's to be bred by the towns friendly dogs.  Or perhaps a quest to obtain support from some of the other Yarl's at some point (sort of a "friends in high places" thing) which makes the faction go away.  Converting the faction somehow is probably better for role play though.

That really shouldn't be the case... Can you open up the mod in xEdit and confirm it has an override for an Armor Addon?

The mod won't even try to set them up until you've entered the building. Does it happen consistently? Did any scenes start while you were outside? Perhaps one you're not aware of? Check the console to see if SexLab put up any debug messages that indicate a scene was starting.

What I had in mind was similar to that: people complaining, some sort of public disturbances, and winning over of the unbelievers. And I'm sure there will be dogs.

 

Ah, but now that I know there's a mod out there that did the same thing, I'll have to find some aspects to change...

Hey tasairis great work on bringing the mod back. I have played through what you have so far.

I like your story and monologue, I know you felt it was to long but I think it gives better story over the original.

Only had 2 issues, the one you know of with baily missing his junk, and the other is a dialogue issue. I have silent voices and I didnt have this issue on other nps or mods in my game, however It could still be on my end somehow. Anyways when talking through their text lines the text disappeared if I didn't manually click through them fast enough. So they would finish the one line and I couldn't see anything else they said until it came to my response.  This didn't always happen but more often than not.  Both Theana and the jarl had the issue when reading their lines.

Also lovers bitch from oblivion was quite different from this story so I wouldn't see an issue worth changing anything over.

Wait. The jarl actually has 'jarl business'?? That's probably the explanation for the voice I'm hearing when I return to the Mansion. Since he just sat there in AMP, when he says "Now leave.", I just leave. Never waited around to notice him. I'll have to pay more attention to your subtleties.

 

ETA: Confirmed. I was carrying the jarl's audio back to the mansion.

First I would like to say that its a great idea and I love the changes you proposed. Normally I like to play male characters and many times I have to go out of the way to create a new female to play adult mods, the ability to make followers take the player place with the animals is something I hoped for but never tought I would see. Keep the good work.

Even if I play a female character I think it's great that the male characters are also thought of.

Even though I wonder how it works with a male char when you get Baylie with Thaena.

Do we get to see a homosexual scene or is it said that you like to watch sex with animals? I can't imagine Baily changing sexes suddenly.

 

It doesn't really matter, I was actually getting at something else.

Since I have already told you that I intend to cast the mod in my mother tongue, it would be great if you could write sentences that appeal to both male and female players, but split it into 2 strings even if they have the same content.

Something like, "Welcome home, friend."

The word friend here, for example, can address a woman as well as a man in English, but in other languages this is not possible, so you would need the same string twice!

In my language I would have to write:

For a man: "Willkommen zu Hause mein Freund"

For a woman: "Willkommen zu Hause meine Freundin"

I would solve this if only one string is present so: "Willkommen zu Hause mein/e Freund/in" And that doesn't look so elegant!

It's just a regular SexLab scene. Maybe this is a good way to reproduce some sort of timing issue with SexLab? Like if the scene starts playing at just the right moment as you leave the cell...

PSA: Animations with female creatures don't seem to go as reliably as those with male creatures. A combination of animation tagging and how SexLab isn't the best at handling female creatures. For example, I know that I have a few male person + female creature animations, however SexLab doesn't want to select them during scenes. I'm looking for workarounds that don't involve me having to search for and remember available animations, not just because whatever I do won't affect other mods (eg, using Aroused Creatures to start a scene).

 

So the most reliable experience is going to be scenes with male creatures and at least one female person. YMMV.

Yep. Fuz do/ silent voice. I have the most recent one however SKSE recently updated an im not sure its working as intended anymore. Ive stared to notice a couple other mods start to blank out lines too.

Dialogue is written to be as flexible as possible. Sex actions and scenes will be a bit more prescriptive about what you can do.

#1 (MQ00): When you talk to Thaena about Bailey, you can say more or less whatever you want about your own experiences. However as a general policy, AMX won't let you use the "fuck me" popups with same-sex creatures - FCf animations aren't common, and MCm animations are spotty (see my previous post). A female character will be able to take a turn with Bailey or ask Thaena to go again, but a male character is restricted just to the latter.

 

This is done 50% for the purposes of storytelling and 50% because of technical issues with male creature animations, but I may stop caring about this in the future. It's not full gender equality but I believe male players have a reasonable path forward. Also note that this sort of approach is used in male-only creature situations; if I can support female creatures then I will.

 

After the quest is complete and Thaena has given you permission to "borrow" Bailey, the limitations are removed: male characters can interact with him and get the "fuck me" popup.

 

#2 (MQ01): The dog seller has 3 male dogs and 3 female dogs.

- "Fuck me" popups: opposite sex only, 1-3 dogs as available

- Follower with dog dialogue: 1-3 dogs as available, only uses opposite sex dogs

- Follower with player dialogue: 1-3 dogs, only uses opposite sex (to follower) dogs, followers go in position 0 (except when female player + male follower)

 

As such,

- A female/male player can do a "fuck me" with 1-3 male/female dogs

- A female/male follower alone can do a 1-3 male/female dogs

- A player plus a female/male follower can do 1-3 male/female dogs

 

Dialogue here, and across the board, does not care about gender - . Quests do care about whether you and/or your follower performed the assorted tasks.

 

After the quest is complete, those limitations are removed: male/female characters can interact with male/female dogs and get the "fuck me" popup.

Hmm. I don't think I'm using anything that runs afoul of grammatical genders... except for second-person pronouns like "you" and "your". Lots of those. Is that an issue?

I'm sticking with 2.0.17 for the time being. 18/19 didn't introduce any features I or my mods need to make use of (AFAIK).

Okay.

 

So obviously I'm a week late on v0.2. There was a bit more work than I thought, but honestly I was mostly delayed by a few IMPOSSIBLE FUCKING BUGS.

1. A required quest alias refused to be filled. The quest started anyway. stopquest + startquest would fill it just fine. Took me a couple days to realize that my "clean save" actually wasn't, and was tainted with an early version of my v0.2 changes.
2. SexLab was refusing to support female creature animations. Logs said I had animations. A day or so before I discovered that incorrect tagging was at fault. Easy to workaround.

3. And the most insidious one that I lost my WHOLE FUCKING WEEK TO was that the Papyrus compiler won't let you create variables that shadow (have the same name as) properties, but totally will let you name function parameters that shadow properties. The behavior is to forget the local parameter and use the script property. And the only reason I discovered this was (1) when I went into the compiled PEX script to find out what it was doing and spotted some unexpected type casting that (2) was because the property and variable just happened to be of different types, and the way I was using the property just happened to be possible with the property's type as well. That's the second compiler bug I've found.

I just want to add that your doing great working with everyone despite the loads suggestions and requests on here.  You originally wanted to improve and restructure the original story with a few new twists and adventures. While working and trying to accommodate everything else just remember its your story the way you want to be written. Making this stuff is hard work, I wouldn't take onto much so your head doesn't explode trying to bring all this together. We will appreciate any content your able to create. ?
