Bodyslide Clothes Building Confusion (slightly-NSFW)

Alright.. so I've been looking up and down at so many different videos, forums, and places ALL across the entire site and even YT to find any means to get this to work.. I've tried so many different fixes, solutions, and repairs and not a single one has worked so I'm going to try to as best as I can explain my entire situation.

The Issue: I am relatively new when it comes to trying to mod my Skyrim game, that said, I have almost NO experience with mods or properly integrating them. I have followed the mod installation instructions, and grabbed every pre-requisite as needed. Down below I will have a list of my mods I have. My issue lies in Bodyslide (presumably). While installing the Devious Devices mods (DDA, DDI, DDX) and a mod to use them (DCL), they constantly instructed that I "run bodyslide" and FNIS, before launching Skyrim to ensure they downloaded correctly. Each time, nothing seemed too wrong. After looking up what to do, I learned that apparently above presets (top-left corner of Bodyslide) that when you click on Outfit/Body, it SHOULD display options for your varying mod armours. This is not the case for me, I only have the default options available. Before I ramble on too long in the first segment; I have done ALL I CAN to try and follow the instructions given to me to a T. When playing with these mods enabled, I am experiencing my character being made transparent- their body forcibly being shrunk by an outfit, gear straight up not appearing, gear that DOES appear often times being clipped over by my characters skin.

My Understanding: So, with all of the above considered; here is what I have in terms of what I think might be causing this issue but I don't know how to fix. First; I am using the mod handler Vortex in order to allow ease when it comes to mod installation.. however, I think I made a discovery. When looking through my files, it was made evident to me that Bodyslide for some reason had two different locations; one belonging to my Skyrim directory and another belonging in Vortex's "Roaming" file location. I am not certain if this has any source of conflict; as this seems to only control mod load order (assessing this later in the post).  Second: Apparently, files from the aforementioned mods were supposedly meant to find their way to Bodyslide's folders on their own- but don't appear to have done so (as evidenced by them not appearing in the outfit/body selector).

My Mods (in order of loading (plugins only)): The following is my current list of mods (and default files, just in case), all installed via Vortex; Bodyslide included.

  1. Skyrim.esm
  2. Update.esm
  3. Dawnguard.esm
  4. HearthFires.esm
  5. Dragonborn.esm
  6. Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp
  7. SexLab.esm
  8. Devious Devices - Assets.esm
  9. SexLabAroused.esm
  10. Devious Devices - Integration.esm
  11. Devious Devices - Expansion.esm
  12. Deviously Cursed Loot.esp
  13. SOSRaceMenu.esp
  14. XPMSE.esp
  15. RaceMenu.esp
  16. RaceMenuPlugin.esp
  17. FNIS.esp
  18. RaceMenuMorphsCBBE.esp
  19. SkyUI.esp

Other Mods: These are mods not found in the plugins section, therefore not seemingly having a load order. I will avoid redundancies as possible

  • XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended
  • HDT Physics Extensions
  • Bodyslide and Outfit Studio
  • NetImmerse Override
  • Fuz Ro Doh
  • FNIS Data (I know this one is techincally above, but including to verify I am in fact running FNIS as instructed and re-deploying mods)

Help Needed: So my issue has been stated above, what I really need is any sort of knowledge on how I'm supposed to fix this mess, I've tried so many things and I'm just more and more confused.. I don't know if this is enough to help get an idea what is wrong but I tried to be as specific as I can be.

Though not what the point of this thread is, in what minimal time I've gotten to experience these mods (losing interest post-transparency issues), I also want to figure out how to get SOS installed- having already for so many other mods I've installed so far declined SOS integration preferences/add-ons to make them work. At first I didn't think I wanted them but it's become kinda jarring to see male figures just dry hump with loin cloths. If anyone could help me figure that out it'd be appreciated as well- though I above all else want the transparency to be fixed with my.. "armours".

As I use Vortex I tried to watch the Vortex variation of the video. Unfortunately, I know fully well how to install Vortex, install mods to Vortex (be it manually or straight from Nexus), enable them, and get them to work. My issue is bodyslide related, and while appreicated the videos did not help my issue.

As stated above as well, I know how to build the body- the issue is, the outfit/body tab (yellow 1) only shows the DEFAULT CBBE stuff, where my other mod armours are in fact, not there.

Same version :/ as I was saying, it isn't the presets that are an issue. You can make your own presets for whatever model character you want to have. My issue I'm having is the OUTFITS/BODY section is not showing anything besides the default cbbe stuff. So I CANNOT BUILD MY BODY AROUND THE ARMOURS THAT SHOULD BE APPEARING HERE.

did you set in vortex the target and the start in for bodyslide ?

I.. don't really get what you're asking here. I have my Vortex rigged to open bodyslide from within Vortex if that is what you mean

This happend, because DDA etc. don't know your Preset.

1. Select your Body.

2. Select your Preset

3. Top right -> Save as

4. Here you see all projects, incl DDA etc.

5. Select all projects you need, give the preset a name (you can use the same name)

6. Done. Maybe restart Bodyslide.

Followed up to step 4, after hitting save as there was only
1. CBAdvanced
2. CBBE Bodies
3. CBBE Undies
4. CBBE Vanilla

Nothing about any of my other projects that should be there :<

If I understand you correctly (and I apologize if I do not) I think that you are having the same sort of problem that occurs with invisible items. That is, you have not built the appropriate item in Bodyslide. If I am correct look at my screenshot below:

Spoiler

What you are missing in your yellow areas is that you need to click on the box I highlighted in red in order to bring up the rest of your items. In order to build these bodies you will have to tick all these groups "on" and then they will show up in your list.

We are getting closer, I did as you instructed and clicked on the magnifying glass (I checked both for good measure), what happened when I did is I got my above response to appear in groups

Only difference is here, there is a fifth ticker just labeled "unassigned". It is worth noting none of these are checked.

But you need ALL of them to be ticked including Unassigned. Offhand, I forget what it is but there is something in a commonly used mod that shows up in there. Tick them all and then go back to your list on the left.

P.S. Hello and welcome back to @Andy14. I've missed your sage advice.

All ticked, no dice. Outfit/Body and Presets identical to how they were before, I hit "save as" to see if anything new appeared there, no dice. I clicked on the magnifying glass, everything was still ticked with the exception of "Unassigned", which had seemingly unticked itself.

I apologize if this has been asked and answered. Are you using Bodyslide through Vortex? I am no expert on Vortex but I know if you use it and need to run tools like FNIS and Bodyslide you must use the version loaded into Vortex and not one that has just been uploaded elsewhere.

I do run both Bodyslide and FNIS through Vortex, and they have been both wired to load via Vortex (I can just, and do, just open Vortex and run FNIS and Bodyslide through there). I think that is what you are asking, yeah?

Then I would suggest, as Andy14 did, that you might want to try deleting Bodyslide and reloading it.

Okay, would I just, using Vortex, find bodyslide and uninstall? Will this harm my other mods?

Yes to find and delete Bodyslide and reinstall.

No, it shouldn't harm any mods since it is an external tool but you will have to rebuild your Bodyslides after reinstallation.

Fortunately I'm at home no so I can take new pictures. Here is mine when I load it.

Right now I only have one group chosen which is hidden because it is at the top of the list and I have used the slider on the side of the "Choose Groups" box to slide down to where the DD groups are. You should check all the boxes for all the groups including Unassigned) when you are first building Bodyslide. Since my DD stuff is UTD yours should also show the same 5 DDx boxes and 1 DDa box. Note that there is no DDi box since DDi has no assets in it which need to be built. Once you've clicked on "OK" you should be able to scroll through your armors and see something that looks like this:

At this point you can either manually build your Bodyslide with the sliders (my preference since it allows me to make NPCs look a lot different from one game to another) or choose your present. Then select "Batch Build" and "Build."

Thats the thing, unfortunately, even though I reinstalled, all I am getting is these three groups and literally nothing else ;-;; I have an idea how things  SHOULD look but just, nothing is showing up, at all.
(Sorry for not knowing how to hide stuff for convenience I am still learning this site's forums)
