Heh, glad you are alive. Hmmm. Will be interesting to hear what all has been decided. Maybe your programming buddy should get on the forums! 

 

And I guess what we really need to know is, we've been told that he wants the sex/rape to be secondary, but what does he think about it other than that? Is it a part of the game that he is going to be just as passionate about making, regardless of it being secondary? Or is it going to be "your part of the game" that he isn't interested in working on, that he "has to put in?" We need to know this! D:

Hey sorry just got home, had to assist my gf with moving her stuff around her house after I got off work. But anyway back to point, the debating part was actually pretty good. Had a chance to really discuss where the project was heading and what steps should be taken to see it through properly.

 

He also had a chance to look over my awesome code and said it was very "rough" and that he could fix it up for me. So long story short we will likely be revisiting the camera and such to optimize the code, and while we're at it, add in the first person view and the toggle to switch between the 2 cameras.

 

I'm going to start writing it all down now and will post the possible/likely changes here when I'm done. I can say though that it will still be a sex focused game like I wanted before, just with some added features/focuses to balance things out a bit.

 

Major changes btw to the story, art style (Still keeping the realistic look tho, so don't worry about that), and time period (this kinda goes with the art style though too, but I figured it was worth mentioning). My level designs are being put on hold until coding/feature stuff is closer to completion to avoid any possible conflicts that would require a mass do over of the entire level.

 

Also the initial goal has changed as well. Rather than immediately aim for the finished game, we will be focusing on a playable tech demo just to quickly test things out. This is to ensure that the games features are working properly before complicating things further with all the additional content.

 

But anyway, that was a big enough wall o' text for me atm, so I'm going to get started on writing all this stuff up for you guys.

Weirdly enough though he really wants me to switch over to a blog rather than this forum. I was kinda against it as I wanted this to be a more privately known game until I can get more done. Since large groups of people asking when it will be done would annoy the crap out of me lol.

 

Also I kinda like how personal forums feel, sounds lame, but I think it feels like I get to know you guys a lot faster. Though if you guys think it would be smarter to do the blog instead, I could probably be convinced otherwise lol.

Ok quick list time, I just got home now >: (

 

My gf just got a new place and she has been pretty clingy about me visiting her. I think she doesn't like living in her apartment alone (she's coming from a big family to all by herself so I understand she needs time to adjust), so she keeps wanting/needing me around lol. But anyway, like I said, quick list time:

 

Goals

1. As mentioned before we have some new goals here, will focus on working towards two tech demos:

-A feature tech demo, as in just a small area to test/show game mechanics

-An enemy tech demo, again just a small area to test/show AI

 

Time Period

1. New time period of the somewhat future, this will allow for additional sci-fi themes and mechanics that we think could help add to the exp

 

Art Style

2. With the new time period comes new clothing/architecture styles

 

Story

1. Story is shifting to scenario specific plots rather than one single overlapping story. This is just to help fit with the modular-ness of the game (no one story would properly fit every different outbreak type, different mutations and such call for different backgrounds)

 

2. Core characters involved in said stories will be similar/used in the many different scenarios just to help cut down on work involved. So view this as same characters, but different setting/alt time lines. Forgive me if I'm failing at explaining this part lol.

 

Weapons

1. Guns will still be in

2. Advanced guns/lasers will also be in

3. Heavy weapons that can't be stored in your backpack are also in, think something like a flamethrower/minigun. Ammo would be extremely scarce though, and it must be dropped to switch weapons. Would also slow you down while carrying them.

 

Armor

1. Now much more simplified, clothing will simply have a set health and once damaged enough, they will be destroyed. Still protects from rape until destroyed though.

 

Player Resources

1. Lust will work differently now, it also acts as resistance to rape. It will still rise as you get groped and such, and if it fills you open yourself up to rape from enemies. Clothing still needs to be destroyed before this can happen though. This state will last for minute or so before you start to calm down and your lust decreases.

 

2. Hunger/Thirst will be one bar. This is just to simplify things a bit, and to help cut down on searching for supplies. Will still behave like before for the most part btw

 

3. Infection will work similarly to before with each rape infecting you a little more each time, you will be able to reverse this if you find anti-virus medicine, but if the infection hits specific progress milestones then there will be no reversing it past that point.

 

Player Mechanics

1. Adding in some adventure game mechanics such as climbing, sliding, and such. Just to make traversing the map a bit more interesting/fun.

 

Level Designs/Scenarios

1. The initial levels will not be modular in their enemies. This is to ensure the tone of the level properly reflects the tone of the enemies that inhabit it.

 

2. Each level will be it's own scenario with it's own characters to choose and enemies to fight.

 

3. Each level will have unique player counts, smaller maps less people, and some with a possibly greater focus on pvp or co op

 

4. Some scenarios will be much more survival focused than others, and on the flip side of that, some may have a lot more action going on.

 

Enemies

1. Enemies are no longer going to be solely human, mutant animals/aliens and such will be added to the list of things that you should avoid

 

Objectives

1. Will work similarly to before, just more emphasized at the start of each scenario. For example some maps may ask you to reach a set point, and then leave it up to you to find a way to reach that destination. Multiple ways to accomplish the same task to help boost re-playability.

 

This will all be to just help you get started, as you in no way need to follow them to play. So feel free to wander where ever you like :)

 

That's it for now, as that should cover most of what I made a note of, and should I have missed anything I'll let you know. Will be updating the main post tomorrow to reflect all the current changes too.

 

Now with that I'm going to sleep (very tired atm lol), and here's hoping I can actually get some time to myself tomorrow :lol:

Still planning on adding melee to the weapon set? I admit I do like the futuristic setting you're putting the game in, granted I imagined a gritty L4D looking game only with more buttsecks and whatnot. I also like what you're planning with heavy weapons, I mean we are normal people, not Space Marines (though that'd be awesome). With armour, do you plan on adding proper suits of futuristic armour (*coughpowerarmourcough*), or just having regular clothing? I overall like the new way you plan on doing the game and I hope the new direct will benefit your design for the best.

Beyond that, I loved pretty much everything about the list. Except.

It's far more preferable to me to have some rape, especially primal, animalistic monster rape, to occur as "soon" as the monster can get it. Which means not caring about clothing. So how about clothing that will become ripped as it is damaged? And at a certain percentage of damage, it is ripped enough it still provides damage protection, but not protection from rape? 50% health or something like that. Or hell, make it player toggle able.

I'm probably going to make clothing with two parts(top and bottom) and depending on where the baddies grab at/attack it will be damaged accordingly. So you may still have your chest covered, but if your pants are off then the enemies can still rape away. That said certain things like oral and such will ignore clothing/armor.

 

As for the lust bit, I may have not been clear enough. You're not offering yourself to infected when it peaks, it simply allows enemies to rape you without as much possible resistance on your part. Though if that still annoys ya, I can see about getting a toggle I suppose lol.

Update March 20th:

Going to redo the entire front page for this, update the blog to attract additional people over there in them internets, and then design the menu scene a bit more later today. Finally, got a good idea for how it should look :)

Update March 21rst:

Ok finished updating the blog just now. Now to actually start working again, btw expect to see a lot more starting next week. I'll have normal work hours, and my programmer will be on spring break. Also new to this, is that I will slowly be passing all the programming duties to him, not because I can't do it, but because I don't like to do it lol...The benefit of this is that I can work on things that I enjoy like modeling and such. Sooo, long story short I'll have much more to show off in the near future ;)

Wow, read over the blog post. Absolutely great run down of all the upcoming features of the game. I like that there will actually be that variance, in armed enemies dragging, and non-armed raping on the spot. I think the only question I have is, any further explanation on those psychic powers mentioned in the story? How exactly are those going to manifest themselves in-game? I image mental attacks that increase lust level? (And no, I'm not bitching about that, if that is the case. XD)

Yeah I left it vague in the story, this was just to give me more leeway with where I could believably take things. Expect the unexpected lol. As for what powers they might be? (See below)

 

I want to make this more request oriented later on, so people would be free to suggest/request whatever crazy ideas they could come up with, and if I or a lot of people like them, then we could make said Outbreak a reality :)

 

Don't get me wrong, I have some ideas of my own for the initial Outbreak I have in planning (kinda got a hive mind style telepathy thing going for infected players objectives). I just would like to one day turn over some of the dev choices to the players, because at the end of the day, their enjoyment is really all that's important to a project like this. :cool:

Why is it that the modders/developers/community on a site about mods/games relating to sex (often nonconsensual), and thus pretty much under the radar are SO much nicer than 95% of the rest of the internet?  I mean, this is some civil stuff here.  Wisdomcube needs to take over as CEO for EA and save that sinking ship!

 

But anyway, back to your game.  Holy crap. I'm loving where things are going. I wish I had another year on my own just so I could more thoroughly enjoy the fruits of this amazing idea. Regardless, I have high hopes, and wish you the best of luck!

To answer you Erena; People who are more willing to discuss subjects such as non-consensual sex in a civilized manner without breaking into a speech about the horrors and how you would never allow it are psychologically inclined to be more tolerant and open towards a greater range of subjects that are lower in the 'controversy scale'. Simply put, where as more conservative individuals will sometimes even refuse speaking of sex or other matters, progressive individuals know it in their minds that a healthy discussion is simply that, and if they can discuss rape and other 'horrible subjects', with ease, then they tend to be more lighthearted individuals, capable of discussing anything... Or psychotic maniacs, but that's a small percentage.

I must say after reading the OP I was left speechless. At first I thought this game would have just an objective/mission based singleplayer, much like most H-games out there, but the OP indicates that you are your partner now plan on incorporating some amazing features and CO-OP MP! That's phenominal! Although I'll admit that I'm a bit worried that you guys are being a bit ambitious. Don't get me wrong here guys, I'm not saying that these ideas should be abandoned, I'm just want to make sure you guys don't run out of steam too early, especially since this game is being fueled (outside of your own drive to make this game) by the users here and the occasional donation. Argh, I don't want to sound like the bringer of bad luck or whatnot but don't over extend yourself! Always work at the pace you're comfortable with! I hope I'm just over reacting here though. But anyways, best of luck on this incredible project guys!

Personally... I am a big fan of single player games which have npc rape player (me).  But I do not think I will ever want anything like that in a multi-player game. Multi-player games and single-player games are only superficially similar, from  my point of view. 

 

(I think that Single player games invite the player to create a story in their imagination. But I think that Multi-player games depend on the behavior and attitudes of other players, instead. And... other things.)

 

Of course, if other people want this kind of game, then that is fine and great and everything.

Glad you like the concept, and yeah it may seem like we're grabbing at a lot, but believe it or not we have been scaling things down lately. Breaking down complicated/unnecessary features, and simplifying things where ever we are able.

 

Sure some features may get trimmed or pushed back as the Dev goes along, but I'm still confident that we can achieve this.

We chose to aim for the best we can accomplish and even do other things, not because it's easy, but because they are hard. because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too.

Sorry almost missed your comment!

You'd be surprised at how much some people can get into roleplaying and such. Multiplayer can also allow for great unscripted moments that I may not be able to properly reproduce. That said, I understand your fear of other people possibly ruining the exp, and will likely make all the scenarios playable with a single player. That may not be the optimal exp in this imo, but if you're able to enjoy it solo, then please don't let me stop ya later on :)

Update March 24th:

Started making the logo splash screens (the videos you see as the game is starting up, for those who don't know what I mean), for my awesome 2 man team.

 

Also was going to do one for Lovers Lab too, just because I figured if I was deving here, then they should get some recognition too lol. Soon found that I could not find a "logo" of any sort via looking around here and google, so I just made one myself lol. But anyway, I might get more into the after effects part of it later, but for now I have a simple little logo to use. Font is a bit too frilly by the first "o", but it looks good enough for me atm lol.

It's cute! I like it! It reminds me of Japanese games. Have the opening seem all nice and friendly with these cute, pastel colored logos, and then BAM, RAPE TIME MOTHER FUCKERS.

 

To go over-in-depth into it, I'd say the font gives a nice, friendly, laid-back, even welcoming vibe, while the the hexagonal background almost subconsciously let's the viewer understand that the site is intelligent, open and welcoming to technology, and forward thinking, with it's more futuristic/sci-fi look, as opposed to the more antiquated look of the letters themselves.

 

^ And yes, view that as only semi-serious. XD

Best laugh of the night right here.  And you're right, Wisdom, there doesn't seem to be a logo for Lovers Lab.  How troubling.  I do like what you've come up with, along with Nonsense's interpretation of it. :heart:
