GR Inari Ears & Tails SMP SE v2.3

an extensive rework on the mod


V2.3:

  • hair with tips ears/tails - added 12 color options for the tips
  • tail bodyslide - added a custom slider to shorten the tail - removed 3ba sliders
  • ear bodyslide - added slider to adjust the size and placement of the ears
  • adjusted the names of the tails for better viewing and list ordering 
  • mod installs as a FOMod with options for the tip colors - bright or dark colors

 

V2.2:

  • textures are now 4k
  • rebalanced the colors of the red and orange ears to better match the tails
  • new normal map for the tail
  • new spec/alpha applied to the ear and tail normal maps
  • spec values in the NIFs rebalanced for the texture adjustments
  • tails wont have the yellow/green spec most visible with ENBs
  • added the big tail, 3 tails, 5 tails, and 9 tails to the ESP. all color and hair color options available
  • SMP XML for the tails fixed and have collisions
  • ear fur has been centered on the ears and now include a zap slider to remove them if wanted
  • keywords added to the entries to be enchanted as if a helmet and jewelry
  • fox pelt added to the crafting recipes
  • sell value, based on crafting cost, given to the tails and ears so crafting xp is earned while crafting them
  • ESP is now flagged as light so it doesn't count towards plugin limit
  • the only asset that wasn't adjusted in some way was the ear SMP XML

I've used the newest version posted here with CBBE body but my tails are inbetween my character's shoulder blades. Is there any particular reason as in have I done anything wrong or am I missing anything? Is there a way to fix this?

I Use it With BHUNP and it works totally fine. Any Chance it gets a Racemenuslider für the extra Armor Slot? Some Mods Strip it even if you have it disabled in strip settings.

I made some racemenu sliders for this and thought I'd share here, it requires spaz490's version of the mod to work. In my testing all physics and collisions are working correctly. The slider is in the body tab (see picture). 

 

1.0:

  • Only the single hair color tails.

Update 1.1:

  • Changed texture path to match spaz490's latest update. Only white tips are available in racemenu. 

Update 2.3.1

  • Added support for male characters.

Update 2.3.2

  • Fixed issue conflicting with High Poly Heads and RaceMenu expressions tab (I hope). Thanks to irhygin and darkmad29 for picking up on the issue. 

Update 2.3.3

  • Added FOMOD installer, you can now choose what colors show up in race menu. 
  • Updated the elin race patch to support the ear sliders (included in the FOMOD).
  • FC Tails patch included in the FOMOD. 

 

I used the same method as sandant25 in their nexus mod FANTASY CREATURE HDT SMP RACE MENU TAILS II - maching body texture at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) to make this so all due credit to them. 

If Gromilla or spaz490 request I'll remove the post and files. I had to disassemble, rename and redistribute their meshes and edit the .xml files to get the tails to function correctly.

Unfortunately not. The base mod uses female bodies, all I did was some redistribution of assets for use with race menu. Fixed

the base mod, mine and gromillas version is set up so males can equip the tails and ears. should be able too set up your racemenu slider for males

I've updated the mod to support male characters for all hair color tails and ears. I had to duplicate and rename meshes to make them behave.

You'd have to make a patch for the custom race in xedit and patch the races.ini files. If you're interested in trying the steps are:

  1. Open the tail and custom race mods in xedit. 
  2. Copy the relevant tail records from the RaceMenu patch into a new plugin, name it whatever you want (e.g. InariTailRM-ElinRace_Patch).
  3. Add the custom race mod a master to the new plugin you created.
  4. Go through each of the tail records you copied and add the custom race as supported.
  5. Once you've saved and exited, move the new plugin into an empty mod folder (in mo2 you'd right click and click create empty mod).
  6. Copy the races.ini files from my patch (InariTail_Racemenu v2.3.1\meshes\actors\character\facegenmorphs\InariTail_RM_2-2.esp\sliders\human.ini for the ears and Racemenu.esp\sliders\human.ini for the tails) and add the custom race so the slider will show up for it.

It's easy enough to do if a bit tedious, there're several helpful xedit patching videos on YouTube.

It should be at the bottom in xedit under “valid races”. You need to select the dropdown menu there and change it to the custom race (HeadPartsTeraElenRace or something like that). You should only need to do this for the forms that actually appear in racemenu, their names all start with “foxtail”.
