That makes no sense honestly. Not trying to be a dick, but they don't usually come after modders for one. and 2) Even if they did, it would be a DMCA. They won't go straight to suing over a mod. Now, for a fangame or something ripping off their IP and trying to sell it, oh ya, you'd probably be hit with a lawsuit. But the DMCA would come first. And usually the suing only comes afterwords if you don't comply.

 

EDIT: Also, you should NEVER EVER reach out to the company in regards to mods. This is the wrong way to go about testing legal waters. You put yourself on their radar. Plus, companies usually hold a "eh, they are doing it, but let's ignore it." approach. Essentially, they passively allow it. Unless they have to directly step in because legality becomes a concern. Or you are completely misrepresenting their brand.

Same, I was thinking in the same way as start, but Japan has some wired news about they arresting a game modder a few months ago.

I also wanna do MHWI modding and from CAPCOM they are totally fine (ignore type of response), so I’m good with it.

But Atelier Ryza is pretty new game and there is not much people doing it besides us, and those modder on twitter are being careful as well, such as the original brown skin mod maker, he’s in concern that company will get triggered if he release the mod.

 

So I really want to make sure this is all fine

I think KT doesn't care tbh. More lewd mods, more people will play it, more attention. Nothing bad about that for them right? xD. At least, that my opinion.

Are you based in Japan? If so, that makes sense. Which is the reason why Japanese modders are being careful. But if you are based pretty much anywhere in the world outside Japan, especially the U.S. You have absolutely nothing to worry about.

But these day premature sex is getting increasing attention, and it is really hard to distinguish in some case whether this character is safe to go UNFW (IMO Ryza is fine, at least not like Loli or child).

You have to either download a plugin for photoshop or convert the files to PNG for editing and convert back to DDS later on.

And I’m using photoshop as well.

I don't output with Photoshop, I just save them as PNG and convert them using image converter (becuz I am totally newbie using PS, not sure how to output DDS setting lol)

In the end I had to use gimp, because I didn't get photohsop to open the  dds with alpha, with gimp you just have to make sure you save with bc3 dtx5

 I might actually stop making the chocolate mod because the original maker on twitter didn’t seems to be happy about it, and I do respect him as this was his thought at first. I’ve tried talking to him, but not sure what he would think about this. I wasn’t plan to do the chocolate ver. at the beginning anyway. 

 

In the mean time I will maybe attempt on modding other costume, but I would mainly start playing the game haha. 

 

Also the reply from the company says they don’t accept any falsification or duplication of the original game, I took that as like a soft ver. of no ?

 

and I still can’t find what exactly the age was Ryza. I will stop if her age is stated to be <16 yo etc.

You aren't stealing anything. It's kind of weird for someone to want you to stop. It wasn't the first tan gyaru mod, and it won't be the last. Idk. That just seems kind of stinky to me.
