Update on that: While playing works like a charm with this thing, I couldn't get the Creation Kit to work, so went over to the other option mentioned by Aylis above, and with that it works. It is more work of course, but the results are solid.

YuFeng Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 (edited) There will be an update to the guide soon though if I'm not completely mistaken to include more up-to-date mods and stuff. Also, some mods in the list have been deleted from Nexus and aren't available anymore. And there seems to be another problem. UFO4P requires the NG version now and there are no older files to download. The game seems to run with the pre-NG version, but who knows what problems this will cause. Edited June 2, 2024 by YuFeng

In that case, the mods (others linked in the mod description) that prevent their quest starts when exiting Vault 111 might be interesting.

BodyGen isn't hard to configure, the configs in ZBG were merely examples but I'm happy to share the custom ones I use. LooksMenu's documentation for configuring BodyGen yourself is fairly complete too, but it helps to have some samples to experiment with. What ZBG also shipped that isn't as easily replaced is LooksMneu slider data for FG and BT body replacers. I'm talking to the author to find out if that could be shipped independently or merged back into the body replacer mods directly.

It certainly isn't too hard to do it yourself, but it is supposed to be a guide for beginners, so having something to download and shove into MO2 is needed. And yeah, the sliders are a problem indeed if we can't recycle them from ZBG. Edit: And it looks like deleting the mod won't save him from people who ask for help about it in the discord hehe... In third person view, I'm unable to click on anything and my cursor is right in the middle of the character's head. In first person, everything is completely normal. I figure this has to be a mod setting, but I can't find any likely culprit in the MCM.

In particular, they have a tendency to conflict with High Heel System, but can also create problems just on their own sometimes (especially if you accidentally install more than one).

I'm trying to get the list to run with the NG update, so I guess I shouldn't worry about it too much. There are a number of problems still, although it seems stable for the most part.

I know some mod somewhere isn't working or playing well with others, but my question is more why it's happening. If we get into the whole precombines and previsibines thing, I might as well start over because that's all black magic.

Are you using the new rebuilt AIO thingy? If so, try moving the Rebuild_Settlements_Previs.esp to the bottom of your loadorder and see if that worked. Edited June 14, 2024 by YuFeng

No promises but will probably finish it up within a couple of weeks. I'll definitely be making it a separate (and FOMOD-configurable) mod though, not baking it into ZIGS. Most of the support questions I fielded about ZBG were precisely because it included sample BodyGen configs enabled by default, so everyone who installed it to get LooksMenu support had the cognitive burden of understanding BodyGen dumped on them whether they wanted that or not (and usually figuring out how to disable it). I do like, and use, BodyGen. I do not think it's something anyone should use without some basic preparation and understanding though, and it does necessarily change how you approach things like initial body/clothing replacer builds, preset management, etc.

The way I usually handle that is to use Better Console to figure out exactly which cell I'm in, then load up all my enabled plugins in FO4Edit/zEdit and find that same cell's record. Look at all the plugins which are altering it and see if any are lowering or clearing the previs timestamp field. Then I play around a bit with making my mod manager reorder those plugins, usually putting the one with the highest previs timestamp after all the others. Sometimes it takes a bit of fiddling to get it right, and occasionally I end up with a nasty enough conflict that the only solutions are to either merge their cell edits in the CK or, more likely, just stop using whichever of those mods I like the least. If you identify a mod conflict that's unresolveable through load order adjustments, it also may be courteous to notify the respective mod authors in case one of them wants to make a compatibility patch.
