Random Crash/Freeze please help

I keep getting random game crashes when opening my inventory or looting bodies. It is completely random it seems, as I can sometimes play for a little while between crashes.
 
Some crashes happen while just walking around.
 
Also it keeps freezing frequently as well, the type of freezing that i cant close it and have to restart my computer
 
I have tried reinstalling the mods multiple times, and can't seem to find the cause of any of this

It sounds as if you have two issues, the inventory crashes and the random crashes. I'll take the random crashes first because it is probably easier. If you are using the most recent version of MoreNastyCritters this is a know issue. If you go to that mod's support thread, MadMansGun has posted what your option are to deal with this (I'm just using an older version).

 

The looting bug is likely due to a mesh issue with one of your mods. I'm not familiar with all of yours but look through what might be changing things that are commonly found in treasure chests and on dead bodies. Eliminate those mods one at a time until you find out what is causing it.

 

Please post your results since it appears that there are other people interested.

Its happening before i actually get into the inventory most of the time, and sometimes its in my own house or in the middle of whiterun and for random crashes, so im not sure if its the creatures mod?  i will look into it some more,  you have helped me a bit last year with a similar problem,

 

the game sometimes crashes when i hit escape before i even get into my actual inventory,  and i have gotten into the same chests that i have crashed on upon reopening the game

 

I have also added a "Bashed Patch" as i read that helps with a lot of stuff lol

I did what was suggested to fix MNC and that mainly consisted of just fixing my papyrus setup??  but right now i want to figure out these random crashes because thats the most game breaking thing right now.

 

   ALSO SIDE QUESTION: does making a bashed patch reduce the number of plugins on my mod organizer? i feel like i have less than i began with  but i could be wrong??

It's unlikely to be MNC at fault as you are not using version 12 by the look of things.

I just downloaded the first 2 of the 3, since i already got my enb setup. i will update after trying these out

 

so just untick bashed patch and rerun the game? meaning it doesn't fuck my plugins after the fact?

 

UPDATE:

So upon running the game it came up the crash fix thing saying

 

" WARNING: ExpandSystemMemoryX64 must be set false in enblocal.ini or you may experience additional crashes!"

 

So i went in and made that fix and will give the game a go

Apparently i dont have my SKSE memory patch installed,  even though its in my data folder  the SKSE.ini.    it says i can use my mod organizer to add  "forcesteamloader to my SKSE startup options"    hmm...  im not the best at all this  so how do i do that?

My point about the bashed patch is just a general trouble-shooting one. You don't add more factors when you are trying to solve something. This is doubly true with bashed patches as they are user made and therefore only as good as the user that made them (no offense). Personally, I never bother with them.

While you are there, double-check your ENB, and especially your ENBlocal.ini, is configured correctly for your machine.

You are on your own with this one. I don't use MO.

when i open the game and get to the main menu i get a warnign saying the skse memory patch isnt installed to the game, and it tells me to add the -forcesteamloader to my skse startup options.  and tells me i can disable the warning

 

but i have the skse folder and ini setup correctly in my skyrim game data skse folder...

 

Google told me to set -forcesteamloader  as a argument in MO and i did that but i still get the warning on the main menu

 

 

UPDATE!  im an idiot

 

 

i had my skse.ini  saved as   skse.ini.txt    so that parts fixed 

 

 

So i should wait until i dont get crashes before remaking my bashed patch?

yeah im still getting crashes..  also it seems to crash everytime i fast travel to a city directly  and the last thing in papyrus says

don't get the logic of that

 

obis add obis faction to npc banditnord01

npc replacer replace headparts of npc banditnord01

 

what you call bash patch, it's just an esp that have both as master, with both edits

to reduce the mod x overwrite mod y, so you are missing mod y (you won't crash because banditnord01 don't have obis faction, you won't crash either because npc replacer headparts are overwrite, and game generate a head instead of loading head nif)

unof patch come with edited playervampirequestscript

mod x overwrite unof patch edit of that quest (if nothing overwrite unof patch in your load order, the save is your last esp)

if someone think savegamecleaner can fix that mess...

it will delete leftovers from the mods you forgot to reinstall, their edits to skyrim.esm or other master will stay, so that change nothing

 

 

script try to do x before doing y, x can't be done, script will try forever to do x that can't be done, freezes are that most of the time

 

crash looting bodies, game pick loot from leveled list bearloot, wolfloot, banditloot or whatever

if a leveledlist is empty, it's a ctd (you no longer have mod x, but save still have mod x leveled lists, that no longer exist)

if you pick an ingredient for an armor, it's a ctd

if you pick y from x, that pick x from y, don't know (but there's an error for that in errors.txt)

 

you have something that mess with memory, with a warning because badly configured?

saw some blabla about those memory things being problems with skyui

 

doubt that have anything to do with his mudcrab looting ctd

he use requiem, it's not last in load order, bet he have a mod that overwrite some of it, and the result is one of the ctd options

well i made a fresh save??   and im not the smartest so i dont udnerstand all the papyrus reading mumbojumbo..  what do you suggest i do??

when you saw problems, instead of fixing them, you have reinstall everything to get much more problems since you didn't reinstall everything in the same order (file order matter as much as load order)

 

how about checking mod x work, before playing the new save, and kill it too when you mess around randomly to try to get mod x working?

 

that's the purpose of... mod manager, you install x, it don't work, you add masters y and z you forgot, still don't work, you try differents versions, still don't work, that messing around it's just those mods folders for now, get that working, and once it work, rename folder modx to _modx, and check next mod, and when all mods are check and working, the messing around is over, and you can start a new game, with that messing around done so what is put in the save, should find what it above in load order

 

until you install mod z that edit something, but you check mod z is working before going on with your save, and if that don't work, you mess around, and if you can't fix the mess, you forget mod z and go back to save before installing it (that's the only way to not have leftovers in the save)

 okay.. well haha  any way you could help me out finding a good install order then? cuz the mods only show the install order for that set of mods  rather then all the ones i have,  and i have no clue what i should be doing here

that doesn't exist

 

you install, check the result in game, and there's something to fix, you fix it, or you get rid of the mod, that's all

No.

Get the base game installed and configured correctly and make sure it works and is stable. Then add mods, either several at a time and check the game still works or, install what you want and do any twiddling after that.

Install order? Use common sense plus watch what is overwriting what.

Loot will sort your load order.

If you have a copy of your previous load order then yes, why not? It will also help in not forgetting  something. Just remember that it is only your plug-ins and not your mods.

People put too much importance on install order. It's great if you never change any mods but what if you do change a mod? Does it mean you have to uninstall everything down to where the new mod will go and then reinstall it all again?

x like mod a more than mod b

he have put it above b in that masterlist

you run loot, mod a win the load order over mod b, because x like it that way

how about choosing that yourself, you pick those mods, don't rely on someone else to choose what you get from them in game

 

the only purpose of loot, it's to put master of mod x above mod x, and that's all

you need a tool for that? you are using skyrim launcher?

that mod is for the lazy ones since mod managers like nmm or mo that put an icon near mod x when it's above his master (that let others decide for them what the game take from his mods)
