What whould be the pros for making it a requirement? If the changes are to expand/improve the mod even further, then we can't complaing about it. The only con I see is people who don't have dawnguard won't be able to play it or it can delay the progress of the mod. Either way its up to you, we are more than grateful for more improvements.

what Jampr said, and if nothing that's planned that requires things from dawnguard i dont see a reason to make it a requirement. i have dawnguard, and the town spawn vampire seem to be working with SD.

I'd say hell yes, make it a requirement. But what exactly would that mean for SD? And to anyone who doesn't have Dawnguard DLC yet, buy it. Those 20 bucks are worth it. As a matter of face, I think I saw it on sale at Steam today for 13.

I hate Dawnguard and all that vampire shit. :@

So go ahead and please the majority, I don't care.

Will have to find another mod to play. :sleepy:

Perhaps you could tell us exactly 'why' it would be a requirement?

Just yes or no is a little vague. Are there assets you want to use? Fixes in Dawnguard to the game engine that you would like? What?

Otherwise, just locking people out for the heck of it doesn't really seem to serve a purpose.

I don't see a reason to, maybe add in a plug in to base SD as you continue to improve and stabilize it. I just without information for why Dawnguard would be required, I can't say yes to it.

voted "yes",

because I think, Dawnguard may add some nice features for a vampire-slave quest, serve as "vampire-cattle" for example, and, Dawnguard has this nice special menue for vamp-lord form, where you only have access for the special-abilities.

Such a restricted menu could be usefull for a slave, too.(?)

Keep a version for vanilla and make a dawnguard version with some extras.I just jumped off the ps3 wagon and I'm havin a blast.

Ah, welcome to the lair of madness then my fellow mod user.

And I'm gonna wait till we get some more info on why Dawnguard would be a requirement. I could easily hit "yes" because I got it anyway but if there's no benefit from making it then why should it be a requirement?

As one fellow modder to another I would recommend you have both a non Dawnguard and a Dawnguard version.

However if you are not going to use any of Dawnguard's features to improve your mod then don't do it.

What's the point of the poll if he isn't going to use features from the add-on.There is no logic in implement Dawnguard if dawnguard features are not going to be used...Of course he wants to use Dawnguard features. He just wants to know if Dawnguard ,as a prerequisite,is going to affect badly the popularity of the mod, since Dawnguard has to be procured separately from vanilla Skyrim and thus, resulting the mod not being available to everybody.I voted yes cause I own Dawnguard (I also going to buy Dragonborn too along with every expansion Dlc that adds content).Best solution if possible is to have the separate module Dawnguard add-on for the vanila SD

First time post, just found this mod and had fun with it.

What is it about Dawnguard that breaks so many damn mods without a relevant patch? In the end isn't dawn guard just a mod/add-on? Did Bethesda make some Dawngaurd exclusive fixes that modders require for certain things? Sorry I am honestly confused about this.

I Think The REAL question you need to ask yourself jbezorg, is how much work would it take to do both? This is YOUR mod and if you believe it would take too much time out of Modding SD just to make it work without Dawnguard, then don't do it. That and ask yourself if Dawnguard brings enough content/changes that it would improve your mod in the long run to warrant it as a requirement?

Personally I haven't played much of Dawnguard because it annoyed the hell out of me. Mainly this dialog that ran through my head at the start.

Mr. Expert Vampire Hunter: "Would you like to join the Dawnguard?"

The Player Character: "Wellll... I don't know. You do know that all vampires have orange glowing eyes now? Right? And I have orange glowing eyes? Sooo... that makes me a, what?"

Mr. Expert Vampire Hunter: "So you'll think about it then?"

However.... I'm currently working on finishing the vampire portion of SD and adding Dawnguard allows me to take advantage of the extra content for this portion of the mod. Animations and actor dialog to start with. There is some cool stuff I could add.

But overwhelming majority would be needed though and about 75% isn't close enough to do so. Cutting out a quarter of the users isn't worth the resources I'd gain.

This poll is more along the lines of initial market research. The amount of people who say they want the change would then determine the necessity of checking to see if the change is feasible.

e.g.: 100% of the people polled said they would not drive a car made out of balsa wood. So there is no reason to even consider checking the feasibility of building a car made of balsa wood.

I would say yes only if there were 2 versions made. Like version 1 has everything that it has now but version 2 would add to version 1 where version 1 left off for the dawnguard part. Otherwise there will probably be many that will be left out as they will not have it and making it a requirement would either force them to buy the dlc to use the mod or they will stop using the mod and look for something else instead.

I remember when I would see cool mods for oblivion and go this looks awesome and then see the *this dlc or that dlc is needed* and then hitting backspace to look for things that didn't need them.

Yep. Or Fallout.

If SD was just about vampires then it would make sense to include Dawnguard. Since it isn't I wanted to get a feel for how often the mod is used.

I voted 'no' because I don't have Dawnguard and am not inclined to get it. But if you feel most inspired to focus on the vampire thing and develop SD for Dawnguard, then I probably would get it just to run SD. :)
