All based on the same information.

And all without a shred of real evidence.

And all evidently without those behind it actually believing what they claim. Because if they did, they would only have to go to the courts to stop it.

The problem with Jason Schreier is that he doesn't understand that not every country has the same shitty labour laws as the United States. If CDPR indeed had "massive overtime", that would be a violation of the EU working time directive, which Poland has implemented into national law. The maximum number of average weekly work hours is limited. If it is exceeded over a period, then that has to be compensated with free time later, so that the average remains under the maximum.

not always, sometimes there are contracts that bind a worker to his job, can not be terminated so easily.
In case of a breach of contract it may for the employee, very fast, very expensive become "called one contractual penalty".

Not always, but when the employer behaves in a blatantly illegal fashion, it most certainly can. And it can get very expensive very fast for the employer when they do so.

yes and I'm German, I know the labor laws with security, 40 hours per week working hours + 8 hours legally allowed overtime.
only unfortunately, nobody is holding on to it, I know enough examples, where the working time was far exceeded, some cases even without overtime pay!
in my case, I have in the steel construction assembly worked, build up airplane halls etc.
My working time was 12-16 hours daily, also on the weekend!
my colleagues and I, we could not say we do not do that anymore!
what do you think would have happened then, quite easy, termination without notice.
and new jobs are falling from the sky "that was ironic", in Germany tens of millions unemployed! :classic_wink:

On what grounds? Abiding by the law?  Such a termination would have been null and void. The standards labour courts set for termination without notice are massive.

If you don't stand up for your rights, that doesn't mean they don't exist and cannot be enforced. Labour courts exist for a reason.

Even before the courts, the Berufsgenossenschaft would have loved to have a word with your employer about such issues. Because they'll have to pay if an accident happens due to overworking. But they can act only on things they know about, so if you let yourself be gaslighted into believing that nothing can be done, then nothing will be done. But not because nothing can be done, but fail to act to get something done.

Which is precisely why this whole rhetoric is so poisonous. It just contributes to gaslighting yet more people to not stand up for their rights.

Tens of millions unemployed? What are you smoking? Germany has all of 80 million inhabitants. Inhabitants. That includes everyone from a baby to a person spending their last days in a hospice, i.e. millions of people not qualifying as a potential employee to begin with.

The number of jobless people is just above 2 million. And please don't come with "Yes, but that doesn't cover a lot of people" - even if you quadruple the number, you're not even reaching 10 million, much less tens of millions.

Oh man, that was a pun :classic_laugh:, I know how many are currently unemployed, 2,33 millions.

I was joking around. there was a South Korean made Kaiju movie called "Yongary" and his name reminded me of it. It was featured on the first relaunch season of one of my favorite shows. "Mystery Science Theater 3000"

What is this thread man? I feel like, from reading the comments it's kinda like Bethesda vs CDPR? Or about CDPR's work schedules? Or about Cyberpunk and Witcher 3? Or Skyrim? Lmao where is this thread headed exactly? It started off as a Bethesda tweet i can see that much.

Crunch is universal in AAA and has been since the 90s. The reason you're hearing about it now is clickbait journalism needs it to survive. Crunch is bullshit and actually tends to adversely affect the people in it unless they have the mental discipline to deal with it, but as long as marketing and shareholders hold the cards it will be industry standard unless you're an indie and you make the rules.

Also this thread is garbage tier.

Well i'll be damned. So let me get this straight, cause i haven't been following these topics lately, CDPR is being accused of crunch, meaning, making employees work extra hard and stuff? And that's the news? This thread is so disorganised i'm not sure, is that the whole thing?

LL is like the Bethesda version of Twitter.  ANYTHING said negatively about Bethesda is met with hyperbolic sensitivity, strawmen and lots of crying.  Getting a rise out of the normies here isn't as easy as shooting fish in a barrel; it's as easy as looking at fish in a barrel.

The issue is western devs that worked in crunch for a month, maybe two max got hired by CDPR who works in crunch from right after feature hardening until ship, which is industry standard in eastern european countries, and so they probably had very little nice to say about it.

The other issues raised were your standard cult of personality issues that quite frankly aren't any different than anywhere else where leads have direct control over their project arm, aka anywhere but EA, Activision or Ubi$haft, so people that have only worked at those places where you are contractually obligated to be nice to everybody to keep your job probably had a nice chunky dose of reality delivered to them.

There are normies here?  I was laboring under the idea that we were all unnatural folks according to *outsiders*  Which I reveled in. :D
