Devious Followers 1.72 SE (Lozeak's Oldrim port)

View File

This is a simple conversion of Oldrim's Devious Followers 1.72 by Lozeak

I basically followed an SE conversion tutorial, so I won't be able to provide much support but, as far as I can tell:

* no t-poses
* most of the gameplay seems to be there (even though I could not trigger certain events, but I guess it has more to do with my character not meeting the criteria)
* no odd crashes/behaviours since I've installed the mod (I have played several hours w/ the mod active with no issues)

The original thread (Oldrim) :

Original file :

All the mod prerequisites for Oldrim still apply here.

As I'm simply publishing a conversion with Lozeak's go ahead, any use of that work is subject to Lozeak's terms when it comes to the re-use of code, assets, and so on.

There is HKX converter in pack. Are animations converted? Had to run this exe file or not?

Thank you for doing this I know a lot of people have asked for an SE version and I'm sure they will appreciate it!

May as well say I can't support SE issues, which likly are none exsistant.

One issue when i did my own conversion of this a few weeks ago was that it doesn't seem to work correctly with SexLab Light.  You need to be using the full version.  Otherwise, the only other issues I've seen are for any of the items that require HDT support (as I don't know that there is a current HDT mod for SE).

Posted

Some items need HDT indeed and cannot be used "as is" using SSE.

Afaik, there is an SE version of HDT (or was at some point anyway) but that was only available on some kind of obscure chinese forum. As this removes a bit of functionality but does not break anything I did not look any further (plus, I'm not a modder, not yet anyways ;) ). DF isn't the only mod with that issue though, I think some DDs are made relying on the fact that HDT support will be active,. and thus these usually break when ported to SE. You have the same kind of issue in Cursed Loot with the slave collar quest for example, if I remember well, so that's not a bug from the mot itself, but rather from the limitations (or even absence) of the mods it relies on.

On the sexlab topic, well, it is indeed sexlab that is listed as a dependency, not the "lite" version ;)

Yep, I was only calling those two issues out so other folks that might run into them know they are "known" issues, and don't spend all the time I did trying to figure them out.

Small update :

After an attempt at converting the mod it seems that some things are not working properly but that are more mod related than anything else IMO, so I'm gonna try and look at the original page to see if it's SSE related or if it is a mod thing.

So far :

* Deals seem to work (regular & compounded ones)

* whoring out deal seems to trigger properly

* animations & such work fine as far as i can tell

What failed somehow / what I could not try bc of something broken :

* At some point my devious follower could still give me devices and add debt, but I could not talk to her about deals / debt & such (dialogue item just vanished). Looks like it has to do w/ my follower at the time (Serana) as I did not have any issues with another character

* I have not tried most of the situational events, mostly bc of the former bug but also for lack of time

* Forced weird potion deal is still broken (as in 1.7 : it can trigger at some point but then I'm locked in place, not able to do a thing). Regular weird potion deal works fine.

Just tested that on an "unmodded" save but with my regular mods loadout so maybe there's sth there but I did not have the time to rule out 100-ish mods one by one when I attempted the conversion ^^'

I finally got the time to take 2.01c for a spin and uploaded a conversion.

Long story short :

What has been tested and seems to work:

  • PC as barter
  • Vanilla (1.72) base deals
  • Petsuit deal
  • "Werid potion" deal (simple one is OK, forced one still KO)
  • Followers like Serana seem to do OK with that version
  • New compounded deals (though they sometimes overlap with vanilla deals)
  • Keys game

What looks broken :

  • Forced potion (as in v1.72)
  • enslavement & slave discard after meeting debt thresholds
  • it seems willpower does not budge (still at 10 after a particularly lengthy night being passed around in riften...)

I'd gladly look into events that can trigger based on willpower but I cannot really do this rn considering the last item I mentioned.

Hey all, anyone know what can be causing animation failure when i load this mod?

All characters, both NPC/Follower and PC loose all animation when i enable Devious Followers - I have have all the prerequisites, and have run FNIS multiple times.

Does it need specific version of the requirements? If so which ones?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I am having trouble making the mod work. It seems to be instaled properly and in game I get the MCM and the initial message of my follower (About the follower not wanting to be fucked over for money again.)

However I seem unable to add any debt. Preventing me from taking advantage of any of the features.

Even the add 1000 gold to debt checkbox in the debug menu of the mcm doesen't appear to be doing anything.
Which I find odd, because I would have assumed that button just sets a value to a variable. So since that does not work i must have missed something major.

Can anyone help me with this? I am at my wits end.

Kind regards,

Clown

what I can't seem to get working. Note I have not tried the latest update but it looks as if these problems should still persist.

errors with the mod, or something that wasn't updated

1. the slave armor is UNP so it doesn't work with CBBE bodies

2. the custom slave armor doesn't work at all, it either uses the default armor or a ghost of the default, I can't get it to accept any file I put in the folder (may be a fault on my end)

3. forced potion quest only seems to be triggered by dogs

4. the potion never does anything (as far as I can tell)

5. the third stage of ownership where your follower gives you an armbinder in towns, they do not remove it after leaving the town and even waiting. I even tried commands to force the mod to update. (not sure if this may be intentional as it is a loose armbinder that is easy to struggle out of)

errors on the games end that will require a more in-depth fix

1. every now and then at the beginning of the potion quest (about 7 in 10 times) and when being prostituted (about 2 or 3 in 10 times) the player character will lose all control and will just sit there, nothing will ever happen (can confirm it is not caused by another mod)

2. because DF by default treats the follower like a female, males will be marked as such by the game. all dialogue is unaffected but sex lab doesn't set the proper position and animations

errors from requirements or a feature that wasn't brought over from oldrim in the required mod

1. on the third stage of owner ship where your follower dumps cum all over you, no texture is applied and they will keep doing it every minute or so till you leave the town

2. the third stage of the plug deal with the sign, the sign is flat on the ground and the chains float in the air (this is a known problem with DD that has no known fix)

unknown problems or quirks

1. the follower will say "any lockable *whatever device* will work," but, it doesn't have to lock (you can manipulate) and you can't use anything other than what they give you. Not sure if this is intended or if it's an error in communication between DF and DD. Either way, you may encounter issues if using another mod that locks devices on you

2. when you tell NPCs that your a slut, they don't do anything. they just give a quick remark but never equip or do anything else.

other than all this, the majority of the mod works absolutely fine.

Sooooo :

@mnervik: Finally got around to try and port 2.02b

@Addramyr: Never had the issue. I guess that you triple checked FNIS doesn't issue you any warnings?

@ClownOfHonor: I tested the thing quite a bit a did not experience that, afaik debt seems to be working fine (like triggering gold control, for example), so maybe there's a mod that conflicts w/ this (although I wonder how, considering how that mechanic is specific ...)?

@EJX: Thanks for the feedback, though most of the gameplay related fb is not quite in my ball park (rn I just convert whatever I can without touching up the mod in itself). I'd gladly apply the DD fix you're talking about if you can point it to me, since I've been researching that a while and never found a solution that'd work on my end. I must admit that as this particular issue seems pretty common on other mods I might have let go of the problem as a "must fix" pretty early, thinking that it's just my DD setup that isn't up to snuff. We can most certainly chalk that up to my inexperience as a modder/mod user, that is true, but if you have material I can use, please send it my way ;)

Thanks to everyone for the feedback and sorry for the late response, didn't have much time to launch Skyrim lately, even less to delve into modding / converting.

xoxo

Inawen

Edit : also, about the potion, it only seemed to work for the "normal" quest (character gets "locked in place" for the forced one) indeed @EJX, and it has been the same in v1.7. As this should be mostly scripting that doesn't change from oldrim to SE (my guess is the evaluation engine is the same, as it'd make the most sense, but then again I'm kind of a noob in terms of modding so I might be wrong... and most of the tutorials I went through too I guess), if most of the scripting works I wonder how only parts of it would be messed up by the conversion process. I'd understand an "all or nothing" situation, but this situation sounds like it's not just a conversion issue. I'll try and look into it though

So, I installed this mod, and it's been 2 in-game days. The MCM menu hasn't registered, and no chat with my follower. Is there a trick to activating it in game?

Or is it just Leah.....

Posted

@StarphyreAFAIK you can use the debug menu in the MCM to do just that. I think I also encountered the issue and it was just a matter of the mod not starting DF with whatever follower you already have prior to installing the mod. If you send your follower away ("It is time for us to part ways") and then immediately re-hire him/her ("Follow me, I need your help") you should see a DF queue pretty quickly and then a "[Click me!]" dialog option that'll enable the various mod dialog options w/ your new mast... ahem... follower ;)

Edit: About the MCM option, you need to check it and then immediately talk to the NPC you want to as your DF and select the new option that has appeared and is prefixed by "[Debug]". Provided you don't already have a different follower, this should work fine.

Hey guys I just found this mod and wanted to try it out, however Im having a weird problem that no one here mentioned.

For some reason as soon as I install it and load up the game, my character's stand pose is replaced with a crawling one, on their hands and knees. I've looked through all the mcm options and tried resetting it and disabling it and re-enabling it but no help. Ive tried reinstalling, no go. When I reinstall (Im using vortex if that matters or not) I notice I get a conflict.

The conflict is with cursed loot, and it asks which one I want to be first and which to be last. It suggests I do it before DCL, I assume since DCL can overwrite things if needed. I also noticed DCL isn't listed as a requirement, tho I have it already anyway... but I couldnt find any install instructions mentioning any of this. Regardless I've reinstalled multiple times now, and I've tried setting it to be first and to be last. Each time I also have ran FNIS like I assume I need to do.

However anytime I load up my game my character is back on their hands in knees. I noticed in the mcm that there was a deal involving crawling around in town, so I tried to leave town. Still on knees. I went into a dungeon, still on knees. Ive tried saving in said dungeon, and reloading there, still on knees. For some reason, it only effects my standing/sneaking idle pose however. When I move around its on two feet as normal. When I have a weapon out, Im standing. When I put it away Im back into a crawling position. This doesnt seem to effect my first person experience at least, only the third person view.

Lastly, I know it's something to do with this mod specifically, since uninstalling this mod makes the issue go away and I didn't have the issue before installing this mod. In case it matters I don't even have a follower yet, or would it matter that I'm not starting a new game?

Any advice? Thanks for your time kupo

That is a first ?

Considering what you're saying I'd say that this could be a weird interaction between this mod and another one that is already installed.

I'm also using vortex, and I install DF using the recommended conflict resolution (DF before DCL), although I'm only using DCL 8.0... maybe there's something there?

The situation where you end up on crawling via DF is pretty far down the lane (it's not a deal that is proposed to you right away when you start, and you need to agree to a deal and either your DF forces a petsuit on you or you have to equip a very specific plug).

I see that your DCL name reads "converted" : is that the official release or a conversion you made on your end ?

Hey, so, I dunno if the original mod worked a bit different, and I don't know how capable you are as far as making your own additions, but would it be possible to add content that maybe relies a bit less on the player interacting with the follower, or NPCs first? I get that it's not meant to spam sex at the player, but at the same time, for those of us that decide to jump straight to enslavement via simple slavery for example, it would be nice for the follower to be more aggressive, and maybe do more things related to the player being enslaved.

Also, it gets kind of frustrating having one female option to randomly be selected via Simple Slavery. >.>

Thanks for the reply... as far as the converted 8.3, sure I can give you a link to that if you want. It was a port of the latest DCL made by @zarantha so... perhaps theres a conflict between the new 8.3 DCL and this? My question tho, can you think of any workaround for it? Is the crawl animation tied to some sort of quest that I could end somehow with a console command maybe? Or a way to disable the crawl quest until a fix is figured out? Any help would be appreciated, since I was wanting to try out the mod. If not I can wait until you can check it against 8.3 or until its officially released I guess.
