I have a lot of mods installed, but I'm not sure which ones are are the trouble makers here. I know modding the game causes these sorts of problems, but I'm in so deep now, I need a little help on getting out of this hole. So thank you in advance, and I'm sorry! Problem: Game Randomly CTD. Usually after I've been on the world map for 5 minutes or in places with lots of water. The game performs well in smaller celled areas, like dungeons or tombs. Thanks in advance, I appreciate any support you could offer! Papyrus.0.log The most likely cause of your CTD is that you have the old version of More Nasty Critters installed. I know this because SexLab Nude Creatures shows up in your load order. Remove the old version and add the SLAL version by MadMansGun. If you are not in the habit of reading and following directions please make an exception for this mod. Doing it is not hard but it is particular and MadMansGun explains it well. He even has a separate install guide if it comes to that. Unrelated to your problem let me suggest a couple of other things to help with performance. Get rid of Realistic Ragdolls. It is included in your XPMSE skeleton and so you now have two versions running. Second, give serious thought to dumping the three Hi-Res packs and their update and replacing them with Vanilla Optimized Textures (found on Nexus). For my money it looks better than the Hi-Res packs and uses less resources.

The reason I ask is this doesn't seem to be a common *recent* type of crash. It was more common a few years back.

King-Crimson Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Another thing, ever since Windows 10 Build 1809 came out, DX9 programs such as Skyrim are finally able to use more than the ominous 4GB VRAM (i think it was 4060MB or something like that) limit Microsoft introduced as a bug since Windows 8. This allowed me to finally use full parallax textures and has increased the stability of my game from 95% to 99,9% with over 500 mods (esps merged) and literally all texture, weather and effects packs you can imagine. You should check if you're on Win 10 1809 (Type winver.exe in the windows start menu search bar) and download the official enbseries VRAM tester (Start the DX9 exe). http://enbdev.com/download_vramsizetest.htm The program will probably report more VRAM than your graphics card has, that is okay since it includes the possible virtual cache as well. Put the result of that into your enblocal.ini -> VideoMemorySizeMb= However, don't use more than 10240 as this has been reported to increase CTDs again. It should be old news by now but I can imagine that still a lot of people aren't aware of this so im posting it here...

I know this because SexLab Nude Creatures shows up in your load order. Remove the old version and add the SLAL version by MadMansGun. If you are not in the habit of reading and following directions please make an exception for this mod. Doing it is not hard but it is particular and MadMansGun explains it well. He even has a separate install guide if it comes to that. Unrelated to your problem let me suggest a couple of other things to help with performance. Get rid of Realistic Ragdolls. It is included in your XPMSE skeleton and so you now have two versions running. Second, give serious thought to dumping the three Hi-Res packs and their update and replacing them with Vanilla Optimized Textures (found on Nexus). For my money it looks better than the Hi-Res packs and uses less resources. I've implemented the above changes, but I'm seeing a skin texture change on my character and it's making me want to vomit. Any idea where it's coming from and how to fix it? Just re-downloaded and re-installed Fair Complexion and it's looking like it fixed the issue. Still tho... stuff of nightmares ?

Still tho... stuff of nightmares ? I hate to say it but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be seeing. She looks dirty and sweaty. Is that the issue? If you look at the "Show your Skyrim Counterpart" thread where people throw up their "perfect" character, many look like this. Without knowing what you are aiming for it is difficult to give advice. You may want to go into 3rd person view (as you have with your screenshot), open your console, point at your character and see what mod last changed her. While it isn't necessarily your culprit it can give you a place to start.

I up[dated windows, increased the vram, reinstalled NMC creatures (the RIGHT way), and removed realistic ragdolls and force. That REALLY increased the stability of my game. So Thank you! @Psalam would you be able to provide the link to the Memory Patch and Bethlni? I think I have the right version of Crash Fixes. You don't need the SKSE Memory patch as it has been incorporated into SKSE for a couple of years, has it not? As far as ENBs go, it depends on what sort of 'look' you want - dark and dismal; bright and sunny; realistic; fantasy; etc. Some are heavier on your machine than others so it's a case of finding one you like and your machine likes too.

While I think a great deal of him I would approach recommending Bethini in the complete opposite direction. Bethini was created by the people who brought us the STEP program and is designed to give people who don't want to become experts on .ini settings the optimal choices. I do agree that, in the big scheme of thinngs, it is better if you are comfortable with doing it all yourself but some people just want to play Skyrim.
