slickyyyyyyyyy Posted July 6 Posted July 6 This may a stupid question, but what reasons would the mod have for not starting "a strange rock" when you talk to laura and Laura will strip the character but not apply a chastity belt when asked there? Im sure it's a simple fix but I am new to molding, any help would be appreciated!

List the installed versions of DD and FuzRohDoh that you got. Also fetch a log with DD logging enabled, and we might be able to tell more.

FuzRohDoh is 2.5 (latest patch from vortex) DD is Devious Devices NG 0.4.2 I can talk to Laura and everything, it just doesn't start the quest. Its like laura can't do anything to me If there are other ideas just lmk, sorry I cannot provide a log ATM

She gives you the objective to find a strange rock she's heard rumors of, and the quest doesn't start? This shouldn't be related to anything DD but to a borked game. As the main questline of this mod is quite finicky towards big load orders, try to minimise your setup just for playing this mod. You can skip the main questline in your "real" playthrough and pretend that you did it with this character, just in case a massive LO actually is the culprit. 1

You can skip the main questline in your "real" playthrough and pretend that you did it with this character, just in case a massive LO actually is the culprit. Yes, I go through the whole dialouge tree, she asks me to speak with Mona in Whiterun Temple and thanks, the she fades from the dialouge and no quest appears in my menu. So you think my load order is just too heavy? I used alternate start on a new save and went to laura and have the same issue on the new save as well. I will get home in like 5-6 hours and try and find a log/list that may be helpful incase there is an incompatibility i am missing

Did you get it off in the meantime or do you need a writeup of the standard procedure to get rid of DDs via console? Is it possible to adjust the punishment range for asking too soon? 2 to 3 days doesn't seem to bad on the default 2-7, but if you want a slightly different vibe or shorter durations, the 2 to 3 added can be rather harsh 🤣 Is there a way adjust it? I couldn't find it in the MCM. EDIT: Actually, giving it some more thought, maybe a scaled punishment would be more interesting (if not too much work), eg asking before the half point: +2-3 days, around the midpoint +1-2 days and if you're a day short a chance for another +1 or a cheeky remark that your early? Another counterpoint would be that in a good sub/dom relationship you can negotiate the rules beforehand 😉 It's not gamebreaking or anything, but it might make it a bit more of a fun guessing game (if you're too early you get a 'clue' to the actual duration), otherwise, you may as well always only return on the max days. In that case, I might even argue to the purpose of a range to begin with? 😅

Well, you *could* - but the guards would arrest you pretty quickly for "lewd conduct"... and that certainly wouldn't generate any positive publicity for Laura's shop! - That aside - I've encountered that sort of "begging to be locked up" (for an unknown duration!) in real life, too... the things I experienced twenty years ago with requests from (alleged) "rubber dolls"... yeah, "mental fantasies" meeting "real life."

Fair enough. It doesn't quite suit my tatstes, so I have been working on modifying the script to be a little more of a game of "guess when to be free". This should hopefully make it a little more fun to interact with Laura while belted and improve being able to roleplay around the deal a little better. Example: By default, if you'd like a shorter deal, let's say 1-3 days, Laura's script will still hit you with a 2-3 day extention. That punishment is almost longer than you initially set up in the settings. To me, that just feels wrong. If someone set a lower range, they probably aren't looking for a weeklong deal. The same goes for higher values. If you set the max to 14 days, you are probably looking for a harsher deal. The attached script changes how Laura's punishment works when you ask about the belt and to be freed. ⚠️Word of warning, this is my first attempt at something like this. Consider it an early alpha. It might be buggy and/or break your game. Installation is simple, just make sure to load it after Laura's mod (so make sure mine overwrites Laura's). No .esp or .esl, it only replaces Laura's script for determining how many days to add. It should be just as easy to uninstall. But you might want to make sure you're not actively talking to Laura and/or the Locked Away quest is wrapped up. So, how does it work? I use the maximum duration the player set in the MCM to assume what kind of deal you'd like. Below 4 days = easy mode: assumes you want a shorter deal. The days added are lower and favourably weighted. Below 10 days = default mode: assumes you want something close to the original, but with some grace as you get closer to the timer being completed. Higher than 10 days = hard mode - choose at your own peril 😈: assumes you want a harsher/long experience. Punishment days are weighted upwards and are more extreme compared to the other modes. When you get time added, you will see how many days were added. I might change this later, as I still need to playtest this myself as well, but I think it works better than a range for my intention. I also added a much needed grace period. So, if the timer is nearing it's end, you will be 'rewarded' for your patience with fewer extra days. On the opposite end, if you ask too early, I also added some logic. Being impatient means you will get more days added. As, clearly, you need to learn some patience 😋 ChibisLauraTweaks.7z
