cleavagesweat Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 this is kinda coo coo. unless this is an urgent fix this is way too closely timed to the last update last month?Â
Ernest Lemmingway Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 99.9999999999% chance it's for the CC. (They just "updated" SSE, too)  "Who cares if our updates break PC gamers' games? We don't need them anyway! And it's their own fault for not submitting to our modding hegemony!"

Most tend to break as well when Bethesda pushes a new update. So if you haven't set Steam to only update when you launch the game, and you ended up getting the update, you can either rollback to the previous version (google), or you won't be able to play for a few days while waiting for all the mods to update. Â Things like CCCleaner, Better Console, Crafting Highlight Fix, LooksMenu, etc etc (mods that rely on F4SE), will need to be updated to the newest patch when the new F4SE comes out. So depending how fast F4SE comes out and how fast modders work/update their mods, it should only be a few days. A week at most. Â This is why you should always set Steam to only update when you launch the game. As long as you don't launch the game via the launcher in Steam, it won't update. You can launch it just fine via F4SE and not have to worry about the update. And then when all your mods have updated and F4SE is updated, feel free to update then.
Captain Cobra Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 Better Console was made version agnostic quite a while ago...

Synivali Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 Thank you @SpyderArachnid for the advice. I didn't know you could set that in Steam. Now... to roll this game back to the version I was playing just 7 hours ago.....
cleavagesweat Posted August 30, 2018 Author Posted August 30, 2018 FYSA - F4SE v6.12 is now available.
flutie Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26956Â handy little mod
cleavagesweat Posted August 30, 2018 Author Posted August 30, 2018 fucking updated this shit just for some gay-ass settlement horde CC crap??? trying not to hate beth but its sooooo hard these days. a horde mode? anecdotally no one fucking wants that. especially if the attackers use the same broken-ass spawn points that they released it with. totally negate the strategy of building walls since they spawn inside (sometimes dead center of the settlement). so now they have a mode to increase it??? so they are copying the battle-royale thing with 76 and they are copying COD zombie horde... why can't they just be themselves (or who they used to be)? fuck change... Â I really think they are out-of-touch with what people want.Â
Guest Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Just to be safe for me. I set the download times on my steam account to update games during the time I am sleeping lolÂ

I would go further, make a copy of both the .exe and put them in a safe area, then in your steam FO4 folder, make both .exe read-only.  @cleavagesweat, it makes you winder why they stopped the original cc to go with this. I believe this isn't to help the console players, but to force everyone to buy their crap. If we really think about it, there are more FO4 players on steam, then their own launcher, yet those are the ones that aren't forced.
Guest Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 thats what been doing lately as well. doing backups on the exe.
Zor2k13 Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Fallout 4 is so incredibly boring now... AWKCR gets "updated" many times a week because of bugs and it still has bugs. Just when I think I've got all my mods working then something stupid happens like one of the railroad secret stash missions no longer work even though the unofficial patch fixed that shit a long time ago but some other mod probably AWKCR brings the bug back again. As arthmoor says everything in fallout 4 is connected you change one thing and it affects a bunch of other things. Â We really need another game to play that doesn't suck AND is single player game I hate lag and crap servers etc.

Zor2k13 Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 I'm not getting F76 that game is just fortnite or similar with another name.
cleavagesweat Posted August 31, 2018 Author Posted August 31, 2018 hahahaha beth released a broken ass mod (see video)  OXHORN CC Review  he reiterates how beth said that the CC mods would be a lot more vetted vs traditional mods. to that I say... HA!

Reginald_001 Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Luckily I keep backups, but I had to invest 10 minutes into rolling back to my backups after somehow Fallout forced itself to update... (even though my Steam and the whole shit is offline and configured NOT to update automatically).

I just don't see them being less dooshy in the future, quite the opposite. ah well... what can you do.

And so far I cant even begin to explain how they can force through an update, when steam is offline and such. I have taken the precaution of ticking read-only on both .exe. So atleast the updates cannot be applied.
