Yes there is such function. You should read the readme file included in this mod in the "Expendable Recruits" section.

I appreciate the response and the direction! I see in the readme that it says there is a bribe functions etc., but I do not see any such options in my game when interacting with npcs. Does it show up automatically or do I need to activate it in the MCM? Or maybe I need to place it lower in the mod order (I use MO2)?

There is a force follower type option in the mcm. If you get an npc under your crosshair first then go to the system tab in the mcm and scroll down, look to the left there are force follower and marriage options. However... It only works if the person has a supported follower voice (RDO will add more voices here) and they are a uniquely named actor. There isn't a general, make any person in the game a follower exactly like AFT. NFF doesn't override with its own systems like AFT does. NFF is more like EFF in that regard.

Question about updating:

I have SE version 2.7.6 from Nexus, unfortunately I did not get the chance to update your framework before you pulled it off that site (and now my mod manager is permanently reminding me that a new version is available while it really is not, but that's beside the point).

Would it be safe to update on an existing save by just uninstalling the N-version and installing the LL one from here? Is the .esp name the same and are there any significant differences which I should be aware of? I am about 400 hours in a completionist playthrough, would rather not lose all that progress. Thank you for the best follower mod I have ever come across in the past 8 years.

Is the max 10 followers at once a hard set limit or is there a way to improve it? Reason why I haven't tried your mod yet is because I never heard of it except for a few weeks ago and secondaly because EFF can handle a lot of people at once.

I wanted to ask about the NFF feature to make a follower sell items to a nearby trader. What variables are taken into account in calculating the amount of gold made from selling the items?

I use Trade and Barter mod to modify barter rates, so i'd like to know if this is taken into account. Is the speechcraft of the follower also taken into account? Can I get a better selling price if I give the follower enchanted items (like amulet of Dibella) to boost speechcraft or raise prices?

Once I've started to use this mod when it was on Nexus it's been a permanent part of my load order.

The only remaining question I have about this mod is what I'm doing wrong. The disable idle chatter doesn't seem to work, and I'm still hearing "I am your sword and your shield. I am your sword and your shield. I am your sword and your shield. (x infinity)" Or is that not considered idle chatter?

I'm having a strange problem with the No Player Damage to Teammates feature. If I attack a follower with any weapon then everything works as it should and no damage is dealt, but when I use spells then I deal damage to the follower. I checked using basic spells like Flames, Frostbite, Spark. None of these spells is modified by any other mod. Any ideas how I can fix this?

EDIT: I tried to test if the same problem will occur when I have only the most necessary mods loaded (USEEP, SKSE, Bug Fixes etc.) and still the situation is exactly the same i.e. weapons do not deal damage to followers but magic does. I am of course using the SPID version and not the old plugin. I'm curious if others also have exactly the same problem?

I was going to download NFF from here, but I'm confused by all the download options. Can you place a brief description section above the fold that says what each download file is? I know what the *SSE* file is, but not what the *UNI* files are.

Uni means universal.
It's a universal fomod installer for LE or SE.

Some how NFF has conflict with Slavetats and MHIYH. Everytime I select this two nods, NFF will stop working ( but the menu is still there, its just not working and cant recruit any followers).

I had this issue too. But put NFF at the last of everything. Before smash and bash patches.

Hey Netherworks. How do I get followers to stop attacking npcs (IE the one in High Gate, think it was that, that was seeking that scroll) after the boss is killed? This fails the mission when she dies. I've also downloaded a follower mod that followers attacked. Her creator told me that he had her set to wolf faction and the lady who seeks the scroll in high gate is set to the bandit faction.

Sneaking will stop them from attacking intially. You must sneak before your followers are aggro-ed

@Netherworks I have an idea, I was thinking about how we can teach shouts to our followers. (Sorry if tagging you isnt allowed)

There are some non-dragonborn characters in-game that can use shouts (Greybeards, Ulfric), who were taught by Paarthurnax and Greybeards for the latter.

I was thinking we can do this, on a more immersive way.
Setting an option to consume 3-5 dragon souls to teach a follower a shout.
And also, synchronized shouting would be a great idea (Like when you are in sovngard and you have to use "clear skies" shout with the other 3 dead dragonborn losers.)

Also, I realize grand-healing does not heal the whole "party". Was this intended

I have a problem, I use this mods, as a "manager" for followers. I wanted to recruit Janessa, but when I go to recruit her, the dialogue stops, and when I try to pay, nothing happens. It doesn't take away the 500 septim, and it doesn't let me recruit it. I tried to disable the mods, go back to a previous save, but, after rushato, from Helgen to Whiterun, I try to pay it the first time, it tells me that I have someone with me, I reload the save as soon as I enter the tavern, command console setplayerfollowercount to 0, and the dialogue works, but it doesn't scale my money, and it doesn't recruit me. I tried putting the mods back, go back to Janessa, but nothing. She remains seated and does not follow me! :(

Technically, it should be safe. I would make a backup save first.  Version 2.7.6 is also here if you would need to roll back for any reason.

I've tried to make it more clear on the page and removed the very old SSE version.

2.7.8 is uploaded with the following fixes/tweaks. Minor update, should be safe to install mid-game.

FIXES IN SPOILER:

Spoiler

    Fixes:
    - No Player Damage to Teammates and Unrelenting Force settings should now work properly.
    - Fixed a bug where setting a follower to ignore the outfit system might make them naked.
    - Home Bases Quest reduced from Priority 100 to Priority 98 to facilitate other mods.
    - Fixed a long standing issue with non-English versions of Skyrim where some dialogues would not open due to using "SharedSilence", which apparently is localized.

    Combat Style Changes:
    - Archer, Berserker, Defender, Mercenary, Ranger Magic/Staff weights reduced to 0.0. Use Spellsword and Arcane Archer and War Priest if you want to allow magic and staff use.
    - Added Arcane Archer CS. This is identical to Archer but with 5.0 weights to staff and magic.
    - Added Warpriest CS. This is identical to Defender but with 5.0 weights to staff and magic.

    Follower Command Menu:
    - You can now set an npc as a follower or marriage/elope partner via casting the Command Follower Power on a non-follower. This is the same as the System tab feature but without requiring you to go in and out of the MCM. It does not turn "anyone" into a follower, only game (or RDO) supported voices.

Hopefully, the localization fix and No Player Damage fix will sort out a few issues reported here.

about the load order, should I put NFF after or before Serana dialogue add-on? I know of course the compatibility patch comes last but between SDA and NFF which one should overwrite the other? And is it safe to import M'rissi into the framework? I know inigo should never be imported to anything, I'm just curious as a few follower mods don't mention if they are compatible with followers framework in general or not on their page :(

I always keep NFF last. I would also exclude it from any bashed patch or similar. In LOOT (at least the standalone), you can set it to LATE LOADERS and it should be fine.

I use Mrissi in the framework. Works fine.

Hi Nether, saw you moved out of nexus to here.

reddit posted a pretty awesome mod today called Skyrim at War. However, one if its main features (command a group of CW soldiers) conflicts on the DialogueFollower quest (which is in a separate Army Follower.esp plugin).

Do you know if it's possible for users to make it compatible with your mod by simply smashing the form changes from both mods together?

I did a quick test after updating to the new version using melee attacks and few basic spells. Now the No Player Damage to Teammates feature works properly. Thanks for the update.

It's likely to do some really odd things if the mod is using dialogueFollower and adding extra aliases. You'd have to look and see if that's what is going on. The first 10 aliases (well 12, since I try to catch the original follower and animal alias) are going to have changes to the followerAlias script and any additional slots aren't going to use it. So I don't think off the top of my head that I would recommend it.
