Citrakite Posted November 17, 2019 Posted November 17, 2019 It's odd to complain about having too many good followers but it's been a string of them each better than the last. Now I'm finally going to pull the trigger on Ivy after having Darlene and Heather forever and there's still 5.0 coming. My robot/synth ally cup runneth over. 2

Heather is good, but Ivy is on a whole new level. It's actually amazing what can be done with the game engine and loads of scripts. In the end, the depth of a follower reflects the care and commitment of the creator. After Ivy, all previous followers seem very "one liner". I did like Heather, but enjoy Ivy's chattiness. I wonder what the future holds..... followers with adaptive AI, 100,000 lines..... etc.... Will games become TOO immersive.... like holodeck addiction on star trek? Can you imagine playing fallout 4 with Ivy on a holodeck? Oh my god! As it is, I look forward to my planned one hour in the evening "playing Ivy"... I mean fallout.... It's my relaxing after my work day. 3

Reginald_001 Posted November 18, 2019 Author Posted November 18, 2019 Interlude 4 Wingfly looked at his new shining armor. His second wife had polished it the entire night, making sure the human markings were removed from the battered iron. It would keep him safe in the battle against the filthy humans. Dawn had just set in and the sun was coming up low on the horizon. The air smelled fresh and clean, high up on the sky scraper where his platoon had landed. The shield around his chest felt tight and restrictive. But he remembered the crash from last year and was happy to have it on today. "What do you think they're talking about?", Snark looked at Wingfly. Wingfly looked at the young pelican besides him, ruffled feathers and light armor. He purposefully didn't respond. "They say that he used to hear all of our thoughts, is that true?", Snark looked nervous. Wingfly nodded and opened his beak wide, then closed it again, checking if he could move freely. "Yes", he finally said, as he remembered the first days.. the days when the King still spoke to them in their thoughts. Snark looked questioningly at the older bird. "Do not concern yourself with anything other than those humans below today young pelican.", Wingfly said. Snark nodded and looked at Wingfly. "How many battles have you fought?", Snark asked. Wingfly saw the nerves in the young pelican. He recognized the fear and he remembered... "Down below! Dive now!", Wingfly was suddenly back... back in his first battle. Above him flew the General, pointing to the metal flying beast the humans had sent to destroy their home. "DIVE!!!", the General pulled Wingfly down with him, towards the plane. "Follow me! Through the broken glass! Ignore your fallen friends, they gave their lives so we could get through!" They were approaching too fast and the closer it came, the more amazed Wingfly was at it's size. It was huge! And there were filthy humans behind the glass! He could see pelicans inside the cockpit, blood staining the glass as the humans slayed them. "Kill them all!", the General dove and flew straight through a broken porthole at the side of the plane. Wingfly followed and thought he would crash into the side of the plane, but found himself suddenly in silent chaos. A big man in some kind of metal armor stood at the center of a loading bay, killing his fellow pelicans with some kind of flaming iron sword. There were dead pelicans everywhere and none of the humans had fallen. The General flew towards the man but was smacked hard into the side of the plane as the human caught him with a foul swoop. Unconscious he fell to the floor, beak open and tongue out. Wingfly felt rage and wanted to attack but suddenly heard his King, deep inside of him."The Eyes!" He leaped up and saw the human raising his flaming sword, then flew past him, circled as he felt the flames miss his wings by millimeters, then turned mid air, and bored his beak straight into the man's eye socket. With a wail the man fell dead to the floor. When it was done, Wingfly jumped to the General, poking him with his bloodied beak. "General! General!!", he saw that he was still breathing. The General looked up, his right wing broken and mangled, when Wingfly picked him up gently. "Don't worry General. I've got you.", he said. "So what do you think?", Snark said, pulling Wingfly from his memories. "Be quiet and do as I do.", Wingfly said. Wingfly looked up, then he saw the Pelican King dive down in attack, bullets flying upward in fiery trails. "It's almost time.", Wingfly said. "I'm ready.", the young pelican said. "No, you're not. But you'll do fine." What seemed only moments later, but was in fact an hour of intense fighting, Wingfly coughed as the stabbing pain in his chest pulled him into reality. He tried to look down at his chest, but the angle was too steep and he couldn't turn his head to properly see. But when he looked up, he saw Snark standing over him. "Don't worry. I've got you." 5
SpinX Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 So I was messing around in fallout and I traveled to diamond city while my character was nude. Ivy then who was behind me so I didn't see her, commented "So, Nudism today? I'm in". I walk to home plate and I look behind and I find Ivy nude. I don't know if it's part of Ivy or it's just a happy coincidental bug but it cracked me up. 4
kchurchjr Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 @SpinX I'll have to try this.... For Science of course
Runco990 Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 Yeah, she does that. Not sure if it's by intent, but it's happened! Although I have not waited long enough to see if she will re-dress by herself. Loved that "I'm in" response! Ivy's a darling. Seems Reginald knows us perverts quite well when he made her. 1
urbanoantigo Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 Hi guys, what's new. After getting angry with XDI and even Full dialogue, I found a mod that greatly improves the FO4 chat system, and so far behaved very well, including IVY and NX1 in the basement. I think it's worth a look https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/619 (the language in the images is portuguese from Brazil) EDIT It has a very interesting setup menu, besides the visual you can put the order of the type of answer that will appear first for voice to choose, and the size of the lines of text, if I really have no problem with Ivy it will be one of my favorite mods e 2
kchurchjr Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 @Runco990 Yea... I definitely have to check it out,... Still for science Next time I load up. Too busy with art ATm (Maybe I didn't stay naked long enough or had accessories equipped) @urbanoantigo SUPER COOL!! thank you, I'll check this out later, Either next load or my next Clean Save for Ivy 5.0 (Mr Clean's Body is ready) 2
DontBlnkBadWolf Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 I too am excited and will love having the new version. It's now been close to a year since I last played FO4. I was tired of it and wanted a long ass break. Same with TW3. But I am now going to wait for as long as it takes for @ChicGeek to return. I never tried Ivy 4.0 with the "Computer" Voice because I thought that it would be better with an actual female voicing the lines. I'm not disappointed in my voice of choice. And while I enjoyed Ivy's Vlog, I always imagined it was Chic doing her voice even though I hard the base voice. Who knows, maybe it would have been different if I had discovered LL in the early stages after I built my PC rig 4 moths after FO4 was released. Then maybe I would have had Ivy pre-4.0. And before Chic signed on. Then I could possible say that it's an either or. Either with or without. But I had built this rig for my love of TW3 and all of the wonderful mods that the Nexus offered. All of the other games that I could finally play was all 2nd best. I'm not saying that I won't DL Ivy 5.0, when she is released to the world, I'll gladly get her, I just won't play FO4. I'm not saying that I'm a diehard Chic fan. I've only seen one mod review of hers. When she reviewed a friend of mine's clothing mod (Have since forgotten what it was for). And I've only said a few kind words to Chic on here, to show my love of her voice work. I just prefer to hear a human voice is what I am trying to say.@Reginald_001 Your work on 4.0 was really great, and I have enjoyed seeing all of the mind blowing work you have done with a game Dev's antiquated game engine that is Oblivion/FO3/Skyrim/FO4/FO76 GOTY and what ever else that want to try and call it. And I honestly think that there will be no modding allowed whenever they release their next AAA Game (even though we all know that it will be their FU Modders Game). Anyway, I'm happy it will be released in 23D 17H 31M 50S at the current time of my typing. And, like I said, I will DL her. I'll even get a preset body, face & skin ready to go if Chic ever comes back. But I'll be the only one waiting, I know. I'll be like the Centurion guarding the Pandorica in Doctor Who. I'll wait until it opens. Signing out in TARDIS Blue; Bad Wolf 4

Signing out in TARDIS Blue; Bad Wolf As all the sound file ID's have remained the same and were just added to, you should be able to drop the original Ivy 4.0 sound files of Chic into the voices folder and thus only have all new lines voiced by the robot. It's a little jarring, but I've been playing like this while developing 5.0 so it was easy for me to distinguish between new and old material (one gets lost with so much dialogue). 1

That! is just the answer I wanted to ear! My head Canon was going to be some Voice malfunction. So it's Legit just overwrite the files with the ones in data/sound/voice/_NPC_Ivy = Profit?
fred200 Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 Might I suggest an optional merged set of sound files. I know I would take it. Your users confuse easy... 2
kchurchjr Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 @fred200 worst Case if @Reginald_001 is too busy with Ivy/Work, I have understanding of file path and and file structure. I can most likely make a merge and repack it same day 1

Right? Who's to say she isn't going full Takahashi while all this stuff is coming to the forefront of her mind to deal with it all? There's several lore-friendly ways to look at it with a little imagination, ain't hard. On the other hand, I must admit - when back in Sept it was becoming more evident Chic may be out a bit longer, I considered holding out like @DontBlnkBadWolf mentioned the page before... Then again, LOL, who the fuck am I kidding?? ... I'll probably last a whole half day... with that shiny, jolly, candy-like download button taunting me... teasing me... tempting me... 2
