So I played The Outer worlds looking for the Fallout in space experience.  It's a good game, but too short.   The whole time what bothered me the most was, no Ivy.  Not sure any game will ever be the same again without an Ivy level follower.  I'm not talking about the pervey things, I mean all the little comments about the area you are in, and the other NPC's.  Ivy is alive.

Kind of weird, isn't it?  I abandoned Skyrim as well due to boring followers.  Ivy is the current benchmark, for sure.  Yes, even without the pervy parts.  We got spoiled!

I have this problem as well. In all other games I play I start to miss Ivy there. If only I could make her a companion that would work with any game. :)

The filters work much better in the 5.0 release (unless you specifically start flirting or open the 'erotic' service menu, otherwise she'll abstain from anything nasty or sexual. In fact, once her filters are enabled she is completely youtube friendly.

Perhaps then one of the youtube reviewers will finally stop ignoring her.

Yes I'm talking about you MXR...

Simple.... make a real Ivy we can order.  She can sit on our laps while we play "any" game!  You'll become a Billionaire!

Thanks, Got it downloaded. I'll start testing it when I get back to FO4. May bug you about how you made the custom badge for Ivy

I used JPEXS to edit interface/CompanionStatus.swf

In JPEXS: Add a new Shape and Insert a new frame in sprite 45, this new frame has to contain the new Shape you just added. Then edit scripts/r2k/components/CompanionStatusWidget in function populateFields() there is a switch statment which evaluates this._data.name, there you can add a new case for Ivy (or any companion)

Note: If you have Adobe tools for editing flash files it's gonna be easier to make the changes(if you happen to find the source).

Reminds me of a time I gave her an "Explosive" Legendary Machine gun, I got wrecked by the splash damage but my thought was "Good thing you're a Goddess in the sack."

That and even without off the crude /rude/NASTY shit she says, I LOVE her, so she gets whatever she wants and (Literally) gets away with murder

@Reginald_001 - Only tangentially related to the thread, grasping at straws style, but I simply had to. I mean, this gives me hope for the series and for Jodie's second turn as The Doctor. Okay, thats understating it. I am seriously pumped for Series 12! I can't lie... literally, aside from CAP, this is the only thing I have to look forward to in the new year.

I can't imagine anyone not missing Ivy's nasty off the cuff remarks such as, "Meow, I'm a fucking cat. I can lick my own pussy." or "Robots can't yawn. So, morning blowjob instead?" Classic Ivy! To me, that's like hobbling a thoroughbred race horse or putting a governor on a Ferrari.

image.png.86482c77790ef39b71bcbd8bfefa599f.pngDevelopment Update

I installed all robot voice files back into my build, getting ready to make it release worthy. Then I played from the beginning. All was going well until at the very end of the HyperCombat quest a scene was interrupted by an enemy and the entire quest got stuck. Good I found it now and I'll have ways to fix it. Ran into some small issues with the Robot voice. Some lines were missing, etc.. but all is looking good for the release. I also found out that some quest integration is pretty NSFW and even though Ivy's lines are filtered, the phases where she speaks still start, so I'll have to add conditionals there to skip those phases if the filters are on.

Current to-do list before release:

- Record some more songs with the WIVS band for WIVS radio.

- Pack all sound files into FUZ.

- Pack all assets into BA2 files including scripts.

- Do one more LIP run through everything.

- Update all script variables in plugin files.

- Decrease the chance of finding porn mags (by a bit).

Current buglist before release:

- (NORMAL) - Add Profanity filter conditionals to some quest integration.
- (CRITICAL) - Some lines seem to be missing in the Robot version of Ivy. Check for out of date dialogue and add where needed.
- (CRITICAL) - HyperCombat Quest gets borked if an enemy interrupts the installation scene. Need to either pause everything else, or perhaps make both the player and Ivy a ghost or do something so that the quest finishes even though the installation scene was interrupted.
- (CRITICAL**) - Temporary Dismissal does not work yet.
- (LOW*) - Make Ivy Warp to the player once if she is too far away for a comment (on a book, or otherwise).
- (LOW*) - Ivy should get a 'random idle' chat cooldown (of say 10 in game minutes) after combat, before she re-engages in idle combat. Sometimes it's jarring that's she's speaking about sex, right after a really intense fight or scene, or makes some random joke that's really not fitting for that moment.

*Low priority 'bugs' will most likely not be fixed before the 5.0 release.

**Temporary dismissal continues to be an issue as the package for it stops working under certain conditions. Making that work might require some rework in Ivy's base that I'm not looking forward to so this feature will most likely be removed for the 5.0 release

I'm not waiting too much on this. The first season was a very big disappointment, leaving me disillusioned with Doctor Who. I'll watch it and we'll see what happens. :)

I'm waiting for a new Doctor TYVM .And somebody that is actually a good writer to take over the show. Anybody is better than that Chris Chibnal (or however you spell that dumb fuck doucebag's last name).

I definitely don't want to derail an Ivy download post, but since Reg seems fine talking about Dr.Who, I'll say:

I watched a little when Tom Baker was the doctor, but soon after the blond guy took over, and while I never watched enough to be vested in the series I can see how the concept of recasting the main character is problematic at best.

I generally don't watch any form of TV anymore. I hate the commercials, and the fact I can see a commercial coming a mile away because of TV episodic structure doesn't help.

As far as Dr.Who though, like any good show, it generally has a run, becomes popular, and without a proper ending (Soap Opera) it can drag on till some Executive puts it out of it's misery. All shows should have a coherent story to tell, but once done, meandering around with like-able characters isn't enough..... Give it a proper burial before the corpse starts stinking up the airwaves.

That's a US thing. BBC doesn't have commercials in between runs. ;)

North America - Canada does this too, sadly.

It's actually that there are public and commercial channels here in the EU. Commercial channels interrupt their programming for commercials, the public channels are payed for by the people and do have commercials but not interrupting programs.

BBC goes a step further and doesn't have any commercials (other than for themselves or their own programming).

image.png.fcfcbd1cdcd01befb4218dd916230287.pngDevelopment Update 19 Days Before Release

Today was spent fixing the bugs listed earlier. I restarted the game (again) and ran through it, testing the bug fixes. I'm getting closer and closer to release readiness.

(DONE) - Added option to NX-2C Controller Holotape for Force equiping her hand cannon
(DONE) - Some lines seem to be missing in the Robot version of Ivy. Check for out of date dialogue and add where needed.
(DONE) - HyperCombat Quest gets borked if an enemy interrupts the installation scene. I set all actors to pause their scenes (instead of end) when combat happens. I added a variable that's set at the beginning of the scene. If it's in a certain state in normal dialogue, the HC installation resumes.
(DONE - Long shot still needs testing) - Temporary Dismissal does not work yet.

(DONE) - Add Profanity filter conditionals to some quest integration.
