Nothing is ever as simple as it seems, although with Kiki you can be sure that most things will end up hilarious one way or another. ?

Bethesda made Harkon not just evil but also stupid, which always annoyed me (you cannot live for centuries and not realize the importance  the sun has for living beings - even if they are your food). In my story Kiki is an oddity and the way she was turned both amused and confused Harkon which made him pay attention to her. And one cannot spend 150 years in Kiki's company without growing fond of her ☺️.

Personally I'm with Kiki on that one - those books ARE funny and not everything needs to be about boring historical knowledge. After all, even Vulcun found some merit in the "Argonian Maid" book series. ?

Glad to see someone recognized Buffy reference ?. Everyone either kills Harkon or sleeps with him and then kills him in their games and stories, so I decided to show a slightly different side of him. If it helps - think of this Harkon as the good twin to the evil one ?

Thank you for your kind words! I wasn't sure if I should give her such a weird origin story but once I started writing it I realized that it fit nicely with her character and just went along with it.  Funny enough you should mention Molag Bal, as the next little side story that I just published actually covers that topic (and it has pretty pictures ☺️ ).

Lepus is a constellation, and Felicia reminds of Spanish feliz which means happy. So we could slide from the meaning "pure happy/happiness constellation" to => "pure luck/lucky star", which would explain why Harkon calls her his "lucky charm".  

Liked both the ambiance of the present and the events of the flashback part, with no trouble with reading order, and an enjoyable length. And your characters do all have something endearing. Good job ! ?

In the elders scrolls it is not known how males do become purebloods, but the daughters of Cold Harbour all became vampires after getting raped by Molag Bal. 

There is the rite of Scion though in which the choosen's blood is replaced by part of the vampire one, which do creates stronger vampires, who may be considered as lesser pure blood as well.

In other lores though some vampires can have children,  but that's not in TES.

But Tirloque... it's 2019, you didn't just assume the gender and sexual preferences of Molag Bal, did you? ?

It just takes one half baked idea of Bethesda anyway to contradict everything they build in previous games such as Skyrim in regards to vampires, so Harkon making true blood vampires is fine I guess...

Sexual preference I give you that, but Molag Bal is unquestionably a male. As for Harkon, it is truly uncertain if he's been raped, contrary to Serana and Valerica (for whom it's a certitude).

My setting also has some differences in that regard, though I didn't change a thing towards ColdHarbour lore (rapy stuff, as you'd say ).

I'm not the lore expert in this form, but as far as I know the deadric princes can actually take version shapes and genders. It's just humans, that assigned them genders.

But I'm not trying to make a point here, I was just writing a stupid trolling comment, I agree with the baseline you wrote in your first post , but technically Molag Bal is not male he's just thought of as male and takes male shapes when "interacting" with humans....

— It's is not uncommon for women to fantasize about themselves being raped, semi-forcefully taken by several men and so on. So there's a fantasized aspect of it, and just next to it the brutal nightmarish aspect it takes in reality. Both of those might be found in my blog.

He purged a 15 years penalty with Molag Balls as a jail-mate.

I think whoever wrote that part from Bethesda's site was as a man fantasizing about women being raped by man, I agree with all of your quoted statements. The only thing that actually bothers me is not the rape, but the asymmetry meaning either you say the ritual is super brutal and sexually violent for both sexes, or it's not for both sexes. But saying women get raped but man get bitten in the neck is the real problem imo, but technically we know don't know what happens to men... so whatever...

The solution with the involuntarily transmittance is solved in my world by having the distinction between "real turned vampires" and "feral (lower) vampires". Feral vampires are affected by the disease and transmit it unwillingly to create a weak version of vampires, while the real vampires have that real complex ritual to turn other vampires that requires them to sacrifice parts of their strength. 

Real vampires, such as Nora are actually fighting feral vampires, more on that in C7S1

I completely agree on this, an unequal treatment would be a bit shocking. But though it is a grey area, some hints do suggest Bal does rape both genders. As Resdayn said, he did Vivec ; and there is Serana's words :

« The ceremony was... degrading. Let's not revisit that. But we all took part in it. Not really wholesome family activity, but I guess it's something you do when you give yourselves to a daedric lord. »

Still, equality or not, a rape, specially that early can have severe consequences on a woman's psyche. Women so powerful, yet broken inside...  Women that choose not to resist, and gained something from it ; yet ended somewhat broken inside. It strangely resonates with some bleak Hollywood actualities...
