Previous hiatus and the current state of things
So, I think I owe you all an explanation on why things have been so quiet. Basically, it comes down to a mix between issues on my Skyrim installation and real-life commitments.
<rant>
As covid started to fade out, I basically went reverse-lockdown for my mental health and filled every little bit of free time I had with activities. To cut short, I currently have access to my main gaming/modding rig 3 evenings per week, and I'm only motivated to work on Slaverim when the 'sex drive' is there too. Also, I'm in the process of buying a house, which on the one hand takes me time, but should liberate me a lot of time once I'm settled in (way less commute to do).
On the technical side, my Skyrim installation has been broken for ... 4 months or so. I guess I'm quite experienced in modding the game, but this one made me pull my hair for so long, I just didn't have the will to develop on a game I couldn't play.
I tried everything, from removing 'heavy' mods, upgrading/downgrading them, to reconsider the hardware (500 plugins on a 6 years old PC), try to alter SKSE plugins settings, you name it. Two thirds of the time when I launched a new game, Devious Devices MCM -among others- would not show up. The mod simply didn't initialize, I could add the assets in my inventory, but not wear them. A lot of DD-dependant mods were broken, it was a mess.
Then, two weeks ago, I thought 'what if my starting mod is broken', and there it was. A few years ago, I ditched 'Live another life' to use 'Skyrim Unbound Reborn', which worked fine as long as my load order was 'manageable'. I think either something changed in that mod in the recent updates, or loading all those mods on a new game directly in an exterior cell just is too much for the game. Anyway, I went back to LAL and everything works again...
Then, Seasons of Skyrim came out, and Dyndolod3 was updated to support it. For two weeks, I tried to generate the lod for the four seasons, but the process was so heavy it sometimes crashed my graphics drivers or my whole computer (I have 16GB of RAM, mind it). Two weeks of trial/errors, and I went back to only generate the winter lods. With dyndolod done, a smashed patch and the game is running fine again.

I've seen a lot of you post comments on this blog, first of all thank you for believing in this project, my next step is to read your comments and give you a feedback, then relaunch the CK. I'm not giving it up, I know you expected it to arrive sooner, but life is what it is...
I'll delete or archive this entry in a few days, so everyone that subscribed to the blog can get the notification.
