How the hell do I mod my Skyrim LE? Series 2
Back to Basic, Skyrim LE
Episode Two - Mix and Match! Trial and Error!
From the last episode of this particular blog ( How the hell do I mod my Skyrim LE? Series 1 ), you can notice that there are already mods in the Mod Organizer 2. I jump right away so I can show you how to use Enhanced Character Edit in Skyrim LE. So for this particular tutorial ( How the hell do I mod my Skyrim LE? Series 2 ), I intended to show especially the new modders/newbies/noobs in modding how it was done. So Mix and Match I can say, I will mix a certain mod in the list then I will tell you the reasons why do I have to install it and to what position it must be on the Mod List.
Below shows the mods I already installed just very after installing the very first mod Scripts...
So I just turn back the time and restarted it all over again from the time after installing the very first mod, Scripts. So be ready and see how can it guide you in modding Skyrim LE.
From here the next mod that we need to install is called the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch aka USLEEP. This mod is actually the latest and the very last patch update for Skyrim LE so it fixes a lot of bugs from the old Skyrim LE so once you check/tick this on the Mod List, you have to unchecked almost all the Unofficial .esp files on the Load Order which is found on the right side of Mod Organizar 2. You must uncheck the Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp, Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp, Unofficial Hearthfire Patc.esp and the Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp because it will only conflicts on the USLEEP and MO2 will detect it as an error. Actually you can still play the game even without this patch, it is just that some of the mods required this USLEEP mod so we are just anticipating in case we really need this mod.
You can found the USLEEP mod on the link below.
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71214?tab=files
Now you can notice that I already installed USLEEP but i never tick/check it yet. Since I know that the game will still run without any issues from using the old patches then just leave it like that for now.
The next mod we are going to install is called Dragon Soul Absorb Fix. Actually it is also a patch that fixes the bug that make you/your character can't absorb any Dragon Soul. In some modders, there is no such issues or bugs but for the sake of making sure that we don't need to encounter this anymore - just install this then. It is not a big deal in your mod list anyway. It doesn't add up any plugins to your Load Order so it is really fine to have this.
You can find the Dragon Soul Absorb Fix mod in the link below...
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31685?tab=files
Just don't forget to tick or check it after you install it using Mod Organizer 2 so that it will work in your game.
The next mod we are going to install is called HDT High Heel System because it is a requirement for some of the female followers and also when you are using a female characters. Actually it is also a requirement for the outfits which are using HDT High Heels System especially for footwears/ shoes/ outfit parts. It is a mod that can let you adjust/modify the elevation of the high heels on the ground.
You can find the mod in the link below...
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36213?tab=files
Then after you install HDT High Heel System mod, check it in the Mod List to make it work in your game. On the Load Order in the right panel of MO2, place the hdtHighHeel.esm just right below the batches of other .esm files. (below HearthFires.esm) so all the .esm must be grouped together.
Of course if there is a high heel system mod, the high heels sound mod must follow. It is also a requirement to other outfit mods so just install it right away.
You can find the Heels Sound mods here in LoversLab (in the link below)...
Download the right/correct Heels Sound Mod for Skyrim LE namely Heels Sound 1.5.7z and not the Heels Sound 1.5 SSE.7z because that was for Skyrim Special Edition. I tested and used the Heel Sound 1.5 SSE for Skyrim LE before and it still works without any issues, but it is still better to use or have a correct version of mod for your game.
Just after the installation of Heels Sound mod, place the Heels Sound.esm together with the other .esm plugins so that it will be more organize later on.
Then I downloaded the SkyUI and UI Extensions from my cloud storage but you can find the latest or updated versions of these mods from the Nexus Mods Site which are available on the links below:
Sky UI - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/3863
UI Extensions - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57046
The SkyUI is one of the most important mods that everyone downloads because it adds up another UI Menu which are for the lists of mods you are going to use in-game. You can also edit the look of the Menu or UI using this mod, in short the SkyUI also manages your mods in-game. Although you can still mod your Skyrim game without SkyUI but we prefer or it is recommended to use it so you can easily access some mods in-game using this.
Then install it normally using Mod Organizer 2 like below,
Now let us download HDT Physics Extensions because it is a requirement for the hdt HighHeels, some clothes and many more which uses HDT Physics. I already downloaded it from my cloud storage so if anyone needs the latest one you can just download it from the link below,
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53996
And just install it normally using the Mod Organizer 2...
Basically modding Skyrim LE using .rar or .zip files are really easy. Just download these mods files then insatll them normally using Mod Organizer 2.
Then download the Alternate Start - Live Another Life mod for LE. I believe that you will never find the original version from Nexus Mods Site anymore and those available there are translations of this mod. Well you can see in the link below,
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9557
So in case you don't have it or you cannot find it anymore, I have a copy here:
Alternate_Start_-_Live_Another_Life-9557-3-1-7-1557703420.7z
Just like the other mods we installed before, just install this Alternate Start mod for LE using Mod Organizer 2. The reason I recommended this mod is for you to start in prison instead of starting on the default carriage which consumes time in your gameplay. You will start right away on creating or editing your Main Character and will not undergo on the story mode of the game. In there after you create your character, using the statue you can choose among the choices on which life you will begin with and also where you will start your game. In this case, I will not show you how to start your game yet since we need to install every essential mods first before we actually begin to play.
Then download Enhanced Character Edit (ECE) or RaceMenu (RM) depends on which you would like to use. These two mods manages your character creations but for this tutorial I am going to use ECE because many players are having issues on how to use this mod. It is not simple but it is not hard as well. When you learn the basic where you mostly used RaceMenu before, using ECE was actually easy as well.
You can find ECE or RM on the links below,
Enhanced Character Edit - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12951
RaceMenu - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29624
When you install Enhanced Character Edit, you will see this Menu Options right away. Normally we choose English as the default language but if you prefer other then it is up to you. Then tap next afterwards...
Then on the next Menu, by default we choose Full Package so we will not miss any options in the ECE that will be needed in the future. That is if we are going to use ECE Presets. Then tap Next...
Then on the Next Menu, choose More Body Sliders so all the sliders in the ECE will be available by then. Then Next...
Now on this Menu Options was really up to you. I will just share what I usually choose when I install ECE on my Skyrim Game. On the first option, I choose Modified Cheeks for human female so that your character will have a rounded cheeks. Then on the next option, I choose No sunken so that your vampire characters, followers and NPCs will not look like dead or zombies. On the next one, it is either Slider 2x or Slider 2x and Step 2x. The only difference between the two is the Step 2x will have twice the number of vertices for the face. Then when you have more than 4GB Memory, you can choose the High-Res UV Map so that wetness, brightness and shine of the skin will look better. Afterwards, choose Install when you are done.
It will automatically install then just like below...
After the installation of ECE, it should look like below. You will notice that Enhanced Character Edit is at the very bottom of the mod list on the left panel of Mod Organizer 2. On the right panel of MO2, it produces 3 plugins namely CharacterMakingExtender.esp, EnhancedCharacterEdit.esp and RaceCompatibility.esm. We need to place them on their right positions that is why I emphasize this here.
The right positions are shown in the screenshot below. In the Mod Lists on the left panel of MO2, just place ECE under or below HDT Physics Extensions so that ECE will load first before any physics that require larger amount of memory. Then place RaceCompatibility.esm at the very bottom of the other .esm files on the right panel of MO2. All the .esm files should alll belong together for easy loading of mods. And then place CharacterMakingExtender.esp and EnhancedCharacterEdit.esp just below UI Extensions.esp. Since the use of SkyUI is for the management of mods we are going to use in-game and ECE was for character making or editing, these two mods are very essential and so we need them to group together instead.
Now we are going to install the XP32 Maximum Skeleton/Extended. In Skyrim Legendary Edition, there are two kinds of XPMSE namely XP32 Maximum Skeleton and XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended. Well either of the two are going to work in your game because we all know that Skyrim LE is an old game. The difference between the two is XPMSE is the latest and the updated version which contains skeleton for the latest animations which we are going to use later on. So in short, it is recommended to use XPMSEbut if you are only for simple animations XPMS was already enough. I have both as you can see below,
If you don't have XPMSE mod, you can download it from the links below...
XPMS - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26800
XPMSE - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/68000
On the first Menu, by default we choose the updated or latest version so just tap Next then.
Here below, we choose Enhanced Character Edit because we are using ECE in our game. Just remember to install the required mods later on so that XPMSE will work in our game. We need to install NetImmerse Override - NIO and Fores New Idles in Skyrim - FNIS. Then tap next afterwards.
In this next menu below, just choose what ever you prefer in your game then Next...
Just like on the previous menu, you can choose what ever Animation Variants you want in your game. Then tap Next when you are done...
Just tap Next right away because even if you choose any thing there, it will never work. They will require sounds which are not available yet in the game.
It is almost the same on the previous menu but this time you can choose Belt-Fastened Quiver which places in the waist of your characters/followers and NPCs. Then tap Next...
On this particular Menu below, you can choose The Joy of Perspective and Schlong of Skyrim. I tested them before and they somehow work in your Skyrim LE game but if you needed the full mods for these, then just install them later on. These mods are patches that is why they still work even without the whole mods needed for them. Then tap Next afterwards.
It is almost the same with the previous menu because Deadly Mutilation patches will also work somehow even without the full mod for it. Then Next...
On this paticular menu below, the Enderal Patches will really require the Enderal mod for it to work so I just tap Install right away since I don't have any plans of installing Enderal anyway. But if you prefer to use it, then you can easily find it on the Nexus Mods SIte.
It will install automatically and it will look like this below,
You can see that the XPMSE mods was at the very bottom of Mods list at the left panel of MO2 and it produces two plugins on the right panel of MO2 namely SOSRaceMenu.esp and XPMSE.esp. We need to placethem on their right positions so just see where I place them below,
On the Mods Lists in the left panel of MO2, place XPMSE mod just above Alternate Start mod. That will be their permanent positions from now on, at the very bottom of all the mods you installed. While on the left panel of MO2, the plugins - SOSRaceMenu.esp and XPMSE.esp should be placed above Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp. The reason for these is for the Alternate Start to load first in your game followed by XPMSE that really needed to load first as well because it manages the skeleton for your animations or poses later on. XPMSE will work perfectly in this position that is why I said previously that it might be their permanent positions from now on.
For advanced modders, you don't need to actually follow my every step in positioning these mods. But for the sake of newbies on modding Skyrim LE/SE, these are the very basic positions of essential mods we are going to use in our game. You will not understand these things right away but in the long run you will know why.
Then we need to install Add Item Menu (AIM) mod so that we can easily access any item in-game. The download link is just below,
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64905
I already have it so just install it right away just like the other mods you installed before. Place it just next below UI extensions since it's use was for accessing or producing any items in-game. It must look like this below but you can place it any where you want and it will still work. It has no real effect on the positionings of the mods, I just do this so that the mods will be more organize and I group them together to what they do or purpose in the game.
Now that we almost installed all the required mods for the next step of this tutorial, we can now use the mods called NINI Noblesse Packs. Actually NINI Noblesse Packs are not for free before and you have to be Noblesse Tier in order to get these mods. But ever since NINIrim, the author of these mods finally reach his goal. He then decided to make it free to everyone but only distributed by his trusted Patreons Partners. This mods are publicly distributed by another Skyrim Author named Sunjeong. So all the credits belong to the both of them, allowing us to use these exclusive and paywalled mods before.
For everyone's sake, the links was still available and just look for it below. These mods are packages of mods for beautifying your main characters or at least make your Skyrim game, screenshot/video worthy. The packs are both available for Skyrim LE and SE so just choose on what Skyrim game version you have.
NINI Noblesse A LE/SE - https://rinirim.tistory.com/1?category=950479
NINI Noblesse B LE/SE - https://rinirim.tistory.com/2?category=950479
Before I install these mods, let us look first what these packages are made of...
This is from NINI Noblesse A LE (NiniNoblePack.rar) and for Skyrim LE game so if you use these for Skyrim SE, some of the mods will never work. As you noticed on the Screenshot below, it almost contains all the required mods for making your character look beautiful/pretty. Of course for Skyrim LE, we can use this NiniNoblePack.rar right away. So considering I will use this package particularly, I readily prepared the required mods for this package.
If you all notice, NINIrim uses ECE (Enhanced Character Edit) for editing or creating player's characters so that is also that reason why I skipped using RM (RaceMenu). Firstly I showed you what this package contains because some of the folders there will never work directly if installed using MO2. So I will summarize first what each of the folders do in your game or will it work if installed directly.
The 00. Animal Glow Fix and Skeever Replacer is for fixing the shining/texture bug of skeever skins. It will work directly but if your ENB is off, this bug fixer will not be very evident at all in your Skyrim LE game. 01. ankoENB BETA3 is an ENB of course which almost looks like SnapDragon or Rudy ENB. I can say it was almost comparable to Picho ENB for Skyrim SSE but was already a complete ENB without a need to tweak further more so just keep it as it is when you use this ENB. This will not work right away because it will need you to install ENB Helper which are required to all the ENBs before using them. If you notice as well there's a separate folder named ENB which contain the required ENB Helper and more so that ankoENB will work in your game, that is if you switch it on. I decided to have a separate tutorial for this particular ENB (ankoENB BETA3) so that even newbies in modding will understand how to use this. 02. ECE 1.4 is Enhanced Character Edit version 1.4 that will work readily when installed directly using MO2 but if you all remember carefully, I already installed an updated or latest ECE version on the previous steps. So we are not going to use this anymore, instead we will use what we insatlled previously. Another reason why we will not use this was because it was in Korean Language that mostly modders will never understand.
If we skipped using 02. ECE 1.4, then it goes automatically that we will not use 05. ECEE 1.4.5 folder and 06. ECE More Body Sliders 2.0 as well. Because ECE 1.4 are connected to these two folders and it was in Korean Translations as well. 03. Realistic Force will also work right away when installed directly and it's use is for body after effects animations/reactions upon collisions from an actions depending on the environment. There is an effect like this but it is almost negligible or unnoticeable at all. 04. XPMSE 3.82 folder also contains skeleton for animations mod so we will not use this anymore because we already installed the updated version previously. We can use 07. NetImmerse Override 3.4.4 which is also one of the requirements of XPMSE mod and also the same version in the Nexus Mod Site. The use of this is for parts positionings, and a plugin which is needed for animations or poses. We will use 08. Nini Brows, 09. Nini Eyes and 10. Nini Hair folders respectively because it will add up additional brows, eyes and hairs which are needed for character creations and modifications.
11. Nini Female Body and Textures is a crucial folder that I am really after so we are going to use this. This folder contains the body shape (xml file) and the skin (textures) used by NINIrim. You can use this as is but a while later, I am studying how to edit textures so maybe I might use the edited version of this folder. The body shape uses CBBE Cosio with body parts physics and collisions so you can use it as it is without the need to install the COSIO mod. Just remember that this is for CBBE bodies so when used in UNP based body or other body types, the skin textures will look bad in your game. We will also use 12. Face Light folder because there will be times or instances that a setting will be a dark place and so we need an extra light source to let us see particularly on the head parts of the characters/followers/NPCs clearly. Of course CME will not work right away when installed using MO2. I will have a separate tutorial for using this CME Presets for Skyrim LE so that even modding Newbies will understand how to use them.
Lastly a Read me notepad file which contains the instructions of how to use or install this NiniNoblePack.rar file.
Now that I showed what the NINI Noblesse A Pack contains, then we will now proceed to the next step and that is the effective way to install this package mod. But firstly, let us see how it will look like if we install this package directly using MO2. Is it effective or not?
You can see from the above screenshot that I already downloaded the NINIrim Noblesse A Pack namely NiniNoblePack.rar and then I installed it directly using MO2...
There will be a notification saying that this file might or might not be a BAIN installer, another format of file that can be installed by Mod Organizer 2 but without further ado just tap Yes and install it.
A BAIN Installer file in MO2 may look like below, on which you can choose which file or files you want to install or use in your game. Just like what I already explained previously, there are files that we don't need to use anymore because we already have the updated or latest of it. For example Enhanced Character Edit, the version in the installer is just 1.4 and is translated to Korean so we don't need to check it anymore. We already installed ECE 1.5xx previously and in English translations, and that is what we are going to use in our Skyrim LE game. You can also notice below, the checklist of files that as checked so just follow my guide if you are not really sure to what you are going to do next. I already explained previously what each of the folder will do in your game so that is the reason for these Checklist. Then press Ok to Install...
Remember that this is just a test to show you if this will be an appropriate way to install NINI Noblesse A Pack so after the installation, your MO2 particularly on the left panel will look like below,
If you check NiniNoblePack on the Mods List in the left panel of MO2, it will produce 6 plugins on the right panel.
Then let us check what the NiniNoblePack contains by just right click and then Open in Explorer,
Opening it will direct you to the folder just like below. You will notice that not all the files that we needed from above screeshot and below are not installed successfully so we can now say that installing NiniNoblePack.rar directly using MO2 is not really effective.
Then just remove NiniNoblePack in the left panel of MO2.
Afterwards, it will look like below. Back to where we didn't install the NiniNoblePack yet...
This time I will show you the most effective or appropriate way to install NiniNoblePack.rar. First we just need to extract it to a New Folder. You can just rename that New Folder afterwards. Just like what I showed you previously, when you extract the NiniNoblePack, it will look just like below.
You will notice that these folders are numbered or their file names are with numbers. Like what NINIrim said from the instructions on the Readme file, these numbers represents the position of that folder in the Mod List. You place them in your MO2 starting from 00 up to 12, their installation position should follow that order starting from above downwards.
There are files that we don't need to install anymore because we already installed them previously. So I boxed in red all the files that we needed to install.
Now go back to Mod Organizer 2, on the left panel just right click anywhere there particularly where you can find the mods you previously installed. Choose any mods there by right click and Open in Explorer.
A folder will open which is the mod you have chosen. On the window you will see boxed in red is the up button, just click it so that you will be directed to the mods folder of MO2.
It will look just like below. Now you are in the mods folder of Mod Organizer 2.
Then go back to the extracted folder of NiniNoblePack before and Select all the files that we needed to install in the game. Just CTRL click using the mouse all the files that you want to select. It will just look like below which is boxed in yellow.
After selecting all the files that we need, right click using mouse and then Copy them.
And then just go back to the folder of mods in the MO2 folder, right click anywhere there and then choose Paste to paste all the files from the NiniNoblePack we selected previously.
After pasting the files, it will look just like below. You will notice boxed in red all the files that we copied from NiniNoblePack. Close this folder and then just go back to Mod Organizer 2 program.
On the Mod Organizer 2 particularly on the left panel, again just right click any where there where you find the mods you installed previously. Then select All Mods, in the drop down menu Select Referesh there.
After the Refresh button, your Mods list refresh and you will see new set of mods there just like in the screenshot below. I have never check any thing there yet because we will do these one by one or manually. We need to place them in their right positions before activating them.
Choose the first three mods of NiniNoblePack namely 00. Animal Glow Fix and Skeever Replacer, 01. ankoENB BETA3 and 03. Realistic Force by CTRL key in the left panel of MO2.
And then place them under the Heel Sound 1.5 mod just like what you can see below. When you check or activate them, you will notice in the right panel of MO2 that it produces two plugins namely ankoENBBETA3.esp and dD - Realistic Ragdoll Force - Realistic.esp.
Just like what we did on the left panel, we need to place the produced two plugins in their respective positions. Place the two plugins just under the Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp.
Then again back to the left panel of MO2, choose another three mods from the NiniNoblePack named 05. ECEE 1.4.5, 06. ECE More Body Sliders 2.0 and 07. NetImmerse Override 3.4.4 respectively.
This time, we place them between the Enhanced Character Edit and HDT Physics Extensions mods. After activating them, you will notice that no plugins was produced this time. Well their are mostly additional sliders and a .dll file so no visible plugins on the right panel will be produced then.
And lastly choose all the left NiniNoblePack mods from the list.
Place them between the mods HDT Physics Extensions and XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended because they are mostly for character beautifications. Upon activation, you will notice that it produces 4 plugins this time around namely NiniBrows.esp, NiniEyes.esp, NiniHair.esp and Facelight.esp.
Place the 4 plugins above the XPMSE.esp plugin just like we did on the left panel of MO2. We need to ensure that XPMSE will load next after the Alternate Start mod.
This time, we need to bypass the Korean Translations of ECE so that there will be no issues about it on the game. The main file Enhanced Character Edit mod we installed previously was already on English but the problem was the add-ons or the additional sliders we have installed. So in order to retain the language into English, we need to do these steps.
There are two mods that will affect the language of Enhanced Character Edit (ECE) namely 05. ECEE 1.4.5 and 06. ECE More Body Sliders 2.0 so we just need to make sure to choose them respectively. First we select the 05. ECEE 1.4.5 from the Mods List by right click and Open in Explorer just like what we can see from the above screenshot.
Then you will be directed to that folder and select open Interface folder there.
In the Interface folder, open translations folder.
In the translations folder, you will only see the CharacterMakingExtender_english notepad. Just select and delete that file.
And then afterwards just close that previous folder and go back to the Mod Organizer 2 program. This time around, we will select 06. ECE More Body Sliders 2.0 mod. Just like we did on the previous step, just right click select and Open in Explorer that file.
Then you will be directed on that folder in the mods folder of MO2. Just like we did before, select open the interface folder...
In the interface folder just like we did before, select open the translations folder.
In this particular translations folder, we can see three notepad files. There is no need to think anymore so just choose all the three notepad files by CTRL key and then deletem them all. We do this so that there will be no file that will translate your ECE into another language. If you notice there is a notepad file ending with _english but that particular file was not really on english but in Korean language instead.
Now then, we will proceed to the next step of this basic tutorial on how to properly install the ENB particularly the ankoENB BETA 3. As you all know, even we did install the folder of ankoENB previously. It will still not work because there is a very crucial step we need to do in order to make it work in your game. That step was not complete yet without this particular step. Just go back to the extracted folder of NiniNoblePack, there you can see a separate ENB folder just like we can see below. That is the ENB Helper prerequisite to be able to run the ankoENB.
Open the the ENB folder and you will find the following files just like below.
CTRL Select all the files in the ENB folder and then right click Copy them.
Then go to your Skyrim LE Game folder. Just find it and in my case it is on my Drive E:
Just paste all the files you have copied from the ENB folder.
You will know that you are at the correct destination path of the files when you see TESV Application and SkyrimLauncher Application .exe files. It will look just like below.
When done then just close the Skyrim LE Game folder. Go back to the Mod Organizer 2 Application. Now we are ready to test the mods in-game. Now it really looks like the set of mods we had at the very beginning of this tutorial.
Upon opening of the game, you will notice that there is an ENBSeries version at the above left corner of the screen, this means that the ENB is working correctly.
Then let us try to play a New game. But before that we need to ensure that the ENB is not activated so that the loading of the game will not be slow.
By default the ENB is always on or activated. So by pressing Shift and F12 Keys together, the ENB Menu will open up just like below. To see which of it was the universal switch that makes the ENB on, it is designated as UseEffect under GLOBAL. To turn the ENB off while playing, just uncheck this option. And then press Shift+F12 again to exit the ENB Menu. And now we can play the New Game.
You will begin in the Prison Cell which is the effect of the Alternate Start mod. You will begin as a male, a Nord race.
To switch gender, just go to the Body Menu. Then set the Sex option/slider into 1.
From the previous tutorial which tackles how to use ECE Presets in Skyrim LE, by default there is no ECE Preset yet available in any slot of Enhanced Character Edit. So we will do this later on when we quit the game.
Upon saving your very first character and naming it, your gameplay will turly begin there. But before we check other things, if you press ESC key then a menu just like below will appear. You will notice that an additional menu was already available there named Mod Configurations. Actually this is the MCM Menu of SkyUI, just like I discuss previously this particular menu will manage the in-game mods.
When you click that MOD CONFIGURATION, you will be directed to the list of mods that can be managed in-game. For now there are three in-game mods.
Checking the XPMSE, it is not working yet eventhough it was installed because there is still a mod requirement that we didn't installed yet and that is the FNIS (Fores New Idles for Skyrim).
Exiting the Menu, your gameplay will begin, I removed the clothes so that we can see the real appearance of the game. It is quite pixelized most especially the shadow in the character's body.
When I turned on the ENB, of course by activating the UseEffect under GLOBAL in the ENB Menu. Tapping Shift+F12 together will open the ENB Menu in-game. The apperance of the game more ecpecially the character itself will look different just like below. It is not a beautiful/pretty character for now because we didn't upload the CME Preset we have yet in the game.
Turning off the ENB again and it will look decent on some angles specially on lightings. Then I saved my gameplay and then Quitted to Desktop.
Of course for everyone who are using ENBs, I will show you how turned off the ENB by default so that you don't have to open it everytime you enter the game. First find the location of the enbseries configuration settings file, usually or by default it is found in the Skyrim LE Game folder. If you remember previously, this file is one of the files we copied from the ENB folder of NiniNoblePack.
Just right click the configuration file and Open it with Notepad just like what is shown below.
Then when you see the settings just like below, just like what I said before that the UseEffect was the one or the switch which controls the on or offf of the ENB. In the notepad file, you can directly over write it by using True which means on and False which means off.
This might be case sensitive upon activations so just see to it that it follows everyone elses' inputs on the notepad file. I just rewrite the true into false, of course lower case in case of case-sensitivity. And when you are done, just Save the file and then close it afterwards. When you open your game again, ENB will be in switch off so you don't need to open it in-game because the game is loading slow situations.
This time around, this step is just like what i showed in the previous Blog - How to use ECE Presets in your Skyrim LE game? Just always remember that the folder of ECE/CME Presets will only appear once you saved you very first character using ECE slots. By default it will always go to Slot 1. When you are done doing that then the folder will appear in the Documents folder. There you will find a newly made folder named My Games.
Then open the My Games folder, under it you will find the Skyrim folder which designates for Skyrim LE game. Just open that Skyrim folder.
There under that folder you will find several files and folders as well. The folder that we really need was named as CME_save. Just right click that folder then tap Send to and select Desktop (create shortcut).
And then in your desktop, the CME_save Shortcut will be available meaning it will be easily accessible to you from now on.
When you open that folder, you will see the save CME Preset file that you saved previously in-game. You can use readily made CME Presets of others by just replacing/renaming the number of the file name. Also no matter what Skyrim you are playing wether it is for LE or SE, CME will always work. The shape of the face/head will always remain, the only issues are when you didn't installed the required face/body parts yet. For example the CME preset was using Tullius Hair and you didn't installed the Tullius hair yet, the outcome in your game was that CME Preset will use the default hairs available in-game instead. So always remember when using CME Presets, to always know what are the required face or body parts to use in that particular preset before using it. To make it really look like the one you are expecting, then you need to install these required face/body parts mods.
Well I already have the Ari and Arini CME Presets from Skyrim SE so we will just use those characters for now and replace the default. It will not really look like on the picture below because I didn't installed the face and body parts mods yet.
I use my CME Preset 1 which is my Ari character in the Skyrim SE and look below what she looks like in Skyrim LE.
To be continued...
