IVY 6.0 RELEASED!!!!

 

UPDATE 4th December 2020

This year has seen some weird things, shifts on all theaters: From political to sociological to cultural and generational. We've been shaken, influences are pulling on threads that are like roots, bound into the fabric of our culture and society. Dialogue is stifled with violence of thought and action. Ears are closed and many of us have been scared this past year. Pandemic, elections, crazy things happening all around. This weird and unsettling year has seen both collective and personal tragedy for many, but there have been glimpses of light. Hope. Endless hope and determination to see things once started, through till the end. And with that background, work on Ivy has continued slowly and steadily this year.


We're about three quarters (3/4) into recording Ivy. But we're not only recording Ivy: some other surprises lie in store in regards to voice acting for the mod.

It's most likely that we will not make a Christmas release, and end of year release is possible but no promises at this time, no set release date yet.

What weird place our world is in currently.

As life as we know it is changing around us and more and more are living an isolated existence, development on Ivy has become even more important to me and I make sure to work on her every day I can. The 5.2 build has been finished and a teaser trailer with the new Voice Actress is in the works (and it's looking great) all to provide you with the much needed escapism we all so crave during this difficult time.

 

I can't promise that anything will be easy, in the coming months, for any of us.

But I can promise that Ivy will keep going as long as I keep going. ❤️

 

5.2 will be released as soon as the test team gives the OK!

DEVELOPMENT UPDATE + ANNOUNCEMENTS

Alright so another Major Update. Apologies for the swinging left and right here. During the Multi Follower implementation I ran into some serious issues with Ivy on the technical front that were near impossible to solve. So instead of making Ivy compatible with MF mods, I have decided to create a multi-follower mod that will get a full stamp of approval from Ivy and will be the supported MF mod of choice for players wanting to add companions to their game and Ivy.

 

This mod was specifically designed to make ANY custom companion the main companion, and allows for an extra companion at any time, keeping most (if not all) of their functionality in tact. I have developed the base for this mod and have been testing out runs with Ivy and Nick Valentine, Ivy and Piper and Ivy and Codsworth + Codsworth Customized in the Robot DLC. So far the mod has run flawlessly without any major issues.

 

The major advantage of applying this outside of Ivy are:

- The mod can be used by ANY follower and is not restricted to just Ivy.

- More player choice!

- This Multi Follower mod does not touch ANY of the vanilla Follower framework. It uses a system completely outside of the Follower script and quest and does not alter ANY vanilla objects at ALL.

- This mod is NOT dependent on F4SE or any other mods, it does not require the DLC but it works on ANY follower.

 

MAGAZINE PLUGIN BUG FIXES + DEVELOPMENTS

I've worked hard on making Ivy's magazine plugin more robust. Sometimes she would get stuck in the scene, not pretty. This happens especially when combat takes place. It does eventually solve itself but it's not as elegant as it should be in 5.1. So for 5.2. I've completely reworked the magazine comments and now extra companions will comment on Ivy's remarks if they are vanilla companions (e.g. Nick, Piper, Codsworth etc..etc..)

 

IVY'S SCANNING SYSTEMS

Ivy's scanning system was not working well always. It's nice to Roleplay for yourself that these are glitches in an 80 year old prototype Synth, but that's not how she was intended. Ivy now only remarks on LOCKED safes. And she does it less. Once she's scanned a location, she will not scan that location again.

 

IVY'S CHATTER SYSTEMS

It's always bugged me that Ivy would sometimes go on a tangent while in the middle of combat, or that she would make an offhanded sexy remark, just seconds after heavy combat. In 5.2 a timer now tracks Ivy's combat and she will remain quiet for a respectful period of time during and after combat. And remarks or chat made will be related to combat and nothing else.

 

IMPACT OF 5.2. AND A RELEASE DATE?

I have tried to design 5.2. in a manner in which you can keep your current save. This has hampered me heavily in improving her base systems, but I felt obliged to all of you not to ask you once again to start a whole new game with her. It will always be the recommended way to start any new version of Ivy, but in this case since the releases follow each other up so quickly it will not be necessary.

 

I will ship the test version to the Q&A team soon after which it will take a few weeks to root out any bugs they might find.

I expect 5.2. to be release somewhere in February, March the latest.

 

IVY 5.2. Will ADD the following features:

- Over 600 animations during her dialogue with the player.

- Ivy now automatically unequips her weapon as soon as the player enters dialogue with her.

- A new COMPLETE affinity quest called 'Robotic Assimilation' spanning 9 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS, see the spoiler tag.

WHAT'S IN STORE FOR IVY'S FUTURE?

OPEN HEART SURGERY.

Yes you heard it right.

 

Ivy will receive OPEN HEART SURGERY for 6.0.

 

This basically means I'm going to rip open her entire follower system and rework it from scratch to be outside of the vanilla companion system once and for all. The main reason for wanting to do this is very simple. I don't like it when multi follower mods break her functionality. Then people experience a 'regular' follower with Ivy and think 'what's all this fuss about?', never realizing they didn't even get close to the real 'Ivy' experience because they broke her to begin with.

I will also be replacing her complete scripting system to allow me much easier updating in the future.

 

Ivy 6.0 will be fully voiced again.

Though it is now (or should be) an established fact that all of that sexy stuff is a psychological defense mechanism for Ivy, and some of her remarks are 'on the spot', some others are very weird in certain situations. Just how some people disguise their stress and anxiety with humor, Ivy does so with sex. The dirtier/sexier the remark, basically the more she wants to 'escape' her reality and anxieties. The short forgetful state of sex helps her there, augmented by the programming and reward systems in her AI.

 

So when she says 'that made my pussy so wet' right after a fight.. it's more like: 'That was really fucked up.. and I want to forget about what just happened as soon as humanly possible by engaging in 'sex''. It's a psychological defense mechanism all too common in many people, despite the taboos surrounding it.

 

But mostly the pause has been added for gameplay reasons. It's just 'cluttered' already, after and during a fight, and long conversations aren't really in their place there.

You're going to need a TRULY GREAT voice actor to pull that off! ? That's exactly where i found ChicGeek unconvincing and the robot voice more "realistic".

 

Also, would it be possible to impose this chatter block on Ivy when she is engaged in AAF Shenanigans or MSWL?

If AAF mod authors get her keyword and set it on her, then easy.

My first play through with IVY 5.0 the hyper combat stopped working, I know she turns it off near brotherhood of steel, and the first time we got near cambridge I got notification that she turned off teleporter, she turned it back on near bean town brewery, but the next time she turned it off near cambridge she never turns it back on again, so i started a new game and the same thing happened, so wondering if its just a glitch on my end.  also the magazines do they spawn in same locations because on first play through there were a few at the satellite array you go to for abernathy but on 2nd play through nothing was there.

I'm coming back to FO4, setting up a new game and just downloaded Ivy 5.1.  I see 5.2 is in the pipeline (I hope you got those hug and kiss animations?). 

 

Should I hold off until 5.2 arrives? Or will I be safe to upgrade mid-play?  And what's the safest Dogmeat improvement mod to use alongside Ivy?

@Bluegunk 5.2 is awhile away so start up when you feel like playing. as far as dogmet is concerned I use "everyone's Best Friend" and "pugmeat" both are working fine with Ivy

Hi Reginald,

First, a sincere thank you for some serious fun times with your girl Ivy....

Second, I have kind of a total conflict of love thing with regard to her... With AFT you can rescue Nora, and after doing a playthrough with that, I really liked having Nora.   Then there is Ivy, which hates AFT or vice versa, so I guess I am confessing my adultery { technically Nora is dead so perhaps it is simply choosing to let her stay dead lol } I choose Ivy waaaaaaay more... She is just so fun.  Enhanced with the more adult mods on here, she is totally mandatory....

The magazines spawn in different locations each time. There is only 1 in a fixed location, at Thicket Excavations, but that same one is also part of the random pool.

 

I am considering removing the automatic disabling completely, and instead might just make the BOS react badly to her teleporting with bad/racial comments about it, leaving it up to the players to disable it or not. There might be a price at one point though as the BOS would definitely have an opinion about a self-teleporting synth with artificial intelligence and a human brain inside. In fact, I'm pretty sure they would kill or take her on sight as soon as she was noticed.

Love IVY great companion.  So let all be honest here.  We all like her for that sensual and sexual aspect of her.  I was just wondering has anyone thought about an AAF integration for the different possible sex animation out there.  She does just fine with the AAF mods but what I am suggesting is that she instigates these on her one once the affinity reaches that opportunity level.  For the first time yesterday I got my first black out scene,  plenty of audio sound so you know what is going on.  Just no action.  I think that AAF activation at that time would be perfect.

Hi, torn between waiting a short time and playing v5.2 (really like her new look) or waiting longer and playing v6 (excellent voice KITTENVOX)...

 

but here is my question... do you think it is better (immersion-wise) to play as a female or male protagonist with Ivy?

Both have the exact same amount of lines, give or take a few.. I would say no difference in immersion at all. Each line specifically 'male' has a specifically 'female' counterpart for Ivy.

WOW!!!  I've been with Ivy since her inception to present and with 6 coming all I can say is I cannot wait till she is online. I saw on Nexus that she will be available there.  My question is will there be a adult version here and general there or it will be just there for release.  Thank you again for making the best companion mod.

 

PS: Love the new voice of Ivy too.

LL will always be a main homeplace for Ivy. She'll just also be released on Nexus! :)

Re: Your question. Chic disappeared off the face of the earth 9 months ago, basically ghosting everyone. When she finally returned, after 7 months of complete lack of communication I had already agreed with a new VA on continuing Ivy's development.

 

Nothing was 'done to her' as far as I know; other than many people including me, trying to contact her for months on end, to see if she was even alive.

Yea, i didn't actually know she disappeared till i went looking to update Ivy, apparently the one video left on Youtube from her says she suffered from depression or something.

 

I wish you luck in finding a replacement voice actor for Ivy.

For some of us depression is like a houseguest who stays and stays and never leaves...

My empathy for the chickgeek.

I hope she gets her life back together.

 

I look forward to the new va.I admit from what I have heard I prefer geekchic's voice but that is just my personal preference and no ways reflects on anyone else.I understand why  the change was made.

Ok, Gonna say it now.... Loved Chic, her voice was good.  I love the robotic-ness of the interim.... but you guys are knocking Ivy out of the Park!!!! DAAAAAAyuuuuuum!  What a great fit for the voice KittenVox is!!!!

I have and use Ivy in AFF, lots of the flavors and modifications that can be used by AFF. The only one which I have had issues with is MCG because it interferes dramatically with the Ivy affection, and bugs up in a number of ways. MCG is great, but doesn't really fit with Ivy anyway.

 

Question- Would it be possible to apply the bull barrel mesh of her gun to any other Hand Cannons we might pick up?

 

Props to you all!!!! Attached is my latest modifications to Ivy, and basically the look I have decided to tweak if I make any changes at all. I hope you enjoy!

Version 5.2 RELEASED

Due to the filesize, the files can no longer be hosted on LoversLab and are now hosted on Gdrive.

Click on the DOWNLOAD link, wait 10 seconds, then CHOOSE ONE VERSION OF IVY.

Either the one WITH magazines, or the one WITHOUT.

 

- Overwrite any previous versions you had.

- No new savegame needed, but always recommended.

 

NEW FEATURES IN IVY 5.2

- A 'Remote Command' can be bound to a hotkey now, making it so you can 'command' Ivy instantly without having to 'select' her first.

- Create it in the chem workbench!

- The Remote Command hotkey can be used to guide Ivy's HyperCombat(!)

 

- HyperCombat has been redesigned from scratch and is now far more stable.

- New HyperCombat attacks have been added. (e.g. different types of grenade attacks).

- HyperCombat attacks can now be dangerous to players as well as other Enemies.

- HyperCombat is not disabled around the BOS any longer.

 

- The OVERKILL attack has been added!

When Ivy panics and there are more than 5 enemies and health is low, she will engage in a furious HyperCombat attack that slows down time and kills most enemies in the area. Sit back and watch as Ivy kills everything that's threatening. (Can be configured on/off in through settings).

 

- Ivy now sometimes uses stealth, if the odds are overwhelming she will activate an internal stealth boy.

- Players can now play 21/BlackJack with Ivy, through the 'Service Menu'.

- Ivy is now more animated during dialogue, she will have more expressions and seem more 'alive'.

- Ivy's situational awareness has greatly increased.

- Depending on the rate of affinity, Ivy now has several presents for the player.

- Around 300 new lines of dialogue surround item pickups, lockpicking ,etc..

 

2 NEW AFFINITY QUESTS IN IVY 5.2

 

1) 'Robotic Assimilation'

Follow Deborah's trail through the Commonwealth and learn how she finally ended up becoming Ivy.

 

2) 'Processing Power!'

After asking so many times, it's time to help Ivy find a Spare Secondary Backup Processor, don't you think?

 

ChangeLog & Bug Fixes:

- Ivy now automatically stows her weapon when engaged in camera dialogue with the player.

- Fixed Ivy's scanning frequency and scanning routines.

- Several bugfixes in Ivy's packages and random chatter routines (e.g. when she talks to other NPC's)

 

Magazine Addon Changelog:

- Some other companions now are a part of Ivy's magazine lines.

- Ivy no longer engages in a long dialogue about magazines when enemies are nearby.

- Ivy's responses to Magazine pickups can now be configured through the magazine settings holotape.

Okay, I'm going to hold my nose and play Ivy 5.2 without the voice I want so much.  After all, Ivy is pretty much the only reason I play Fallout 4 anymore.
