Honestly, just the game really. I crop the pictures before I upload them, but that's it really.. It's possible I have some reshade going on, but  I never could get it to work right when I tried it out and didn't notice a difference when I tried stuff so I just gave up, though it's still running, but not doing much I think.

High graphic detail and edge smoothign helps, but in general remember to use the photo mode, turn headline effects off, disable see-through walls and make good use of in-game lighting.

It's been a crappy week for me!

I had some major computer problems and was forced into rolling back a couple weeks!

This also come with its own issues ?

Seems like things are stable now so...

 

I been working on an animation to use for the upcoming VFX addition for ww,

Had another random reboot last night ?

I read online it could be battery related and performing a guage reset seems to have helped! (Crosses fingers)

Had to tune Reshade all over again too after rolling back,

This game can be a total headache to maintain but I won't be defeated!!

Ended up tweaking the sim I've been using for my past two galleries a bit more, switched out the skintone and edited the face and eyes a little bit. Might need a nose job sometime in the future ? but I actually kind of like how she looks now (still using the hairband hairstyle, these are just different outfits).

So if anyone have any costumes (or outfits/accessories you can use to make costumes) or clutter they like I'd be happy to hear about it, particularly if you have a DL link

On the topic of me putting together costumes, here's one I have done. Witch costume for Thalia. 

 

And a costume for Alexis. I originally wanted to have wings with hers to kind of make it a kind of fairy/pixie costume, but all of the wings I have look pretty terrible from the back with the tops/outfits I wanted to use. So at the moment the costume is more like some kind of nymph or Greek god or whatever.

Anyone know of any accessory wings that are not meant to be actual wings, but just part of a costume? For instance if they included straps that they are attached with and such rather than the ones I have which are clearly meant to be real and just go straight onto the back. 

 

Linnie's Costume. This one I think turned out pretty well, even though it's pretty close to her normal style of dress. Tried to find a belt with pistol holsters and such, but somehow couldn't find one.

Hi Everyone,

I'm having major computer problems,

I'm constantly getting a blue screen with various error messages or sometimes just a black screen reboot,

It started as a lagging issue I think when I first noticed,

 

I've been trying various maintenance tasks like rolling back, updating drivers etc but nothing seems to work,

Using without the battery attached seems to increase the time limit but doesn't improve the issue

 

Google tells me it's potentially corrupted drivers or malware but none of the scans or diagnosis I'm using are picking anything up or finding anything out of place,

 

Is this a software issue or does something inside my laptop need to be repaired/replaced?

 

Can I fix this without having to reinstall everything from scratch?

 

When I purchased my laptop from brand new, it didn't come with any discs and windows 8.1 already installed along with some Lenovo extras,

Will this repair itself without a problem or is it likely I'll need to find password etc?

Constant and random bluescreens or plain reboots most likely indicate an overheating problem, a faulty RAM (or PSU, less likely) in my experience, especially if you have the latest drivers installed. I would use Malwarebytes tool to first to scan for malicious software, just to be sure.

 

If the issue first started as computer slowing down during load and then got progressively worse, it points to a dust build-up inside the laptop. The dust prevents proper cooling and causes the computer to underclock or shutdown to avoid damaging the hardware. This is a very common problem for notebooks, especially when they go longer periods (around 2 years) without being cleaned inside. Depending on the type of the laptop, cleaning all the fans and air ducts inside may require partial or more serious disassembly. Some people say it's possible to use canned air to blow out the dust without picking the computer apart, but that never worked for me properly (as a long term solution). You can do the disassembly and cleaning yourself - disassembly videos can often be found on youtube, you need to look for the specific laptop type though. The other option is to take it to a computer repair shop. Do not forget to (let them) also replace the thermal paste between both CPU, GPU and the heatsinks/heatpipes.

 

One thing you can do before this though is test the RAM for defects. I would use Memtest86 - you'd need to create a bootable flash drive or CD with this utility, boot from it and let it thoroughly test the memory (it may take more than an hour). It may or may not be possible to replace the defective RAM depending on the laptop type (it may be soldered to the motherboard).

 

Assuming it is one of these two HW problems, you would obviously not need to reinstall anything. I would still recommend backing up the important data before disassembly though. Note that some notebooks also contain a rescue partition that enables you to return the notebook to the factory defaults without any external installation discs - this basically does the reinstallation (caution - wipes all your data).

Most PCs have the option of initiating a complete system reboot while the computer is booting up, during one of the screens you should have the option of holding F5 or F10 (can't quite remember it's been a while since I did it) to go to the boot menu, from there the process of restoring your computer to the factory settings should be easy. I used to find this a pretty effective answer to deal with malware back in the day rather than using antivirus software or something (these days I'm not finding so much use from either). If you do this you should probably see about backing up stuff you want to keep around, external harddiscs are relatively cheap and nowadays can store a lot of data, so that's a good investment either way I find. 

 

Anyway, I think erplederp is dead correct assuming this is an overheating problem, in which case a full system reboot won't do you much good. Such things are quite common with laptops.

Today I seem to have an improved situation, I'm kinda scared typing this now as I feel I'm gonna jinx it!

I've been in rampage mode, deleting a lot of unused stuff and also removed some folders from my documents that were related to previous uninstalled games and programs,

 

My main suspicion has centred around drivers,

I somehow ended up with something called "adaware web companion" by lavasoft,

 

It appears to be an antivirus software but I know for fact I've never installed this as I have always relied on the same one,

I got the impression that it's corrupted my driver's for my regular antivirus so since rolling back again yesterday I removed and reinstalled my antivirus,

 

Today my computer has been running (no battery) for around 6hrs without a shutdown,

I'm hoping this is not a fluke!!
