Working on a new blog entry for a new character in the story. She's a lonely, centuries old "vanilla" vampire with no ties to any of the clans, no stake in the civil war, and she's just plain tired of having to drink blood to survive.

 

Nadja overheard a rumor that a certain mage in Morthal has found a cure for vampirism, so she's set out on a quest to become mortal again.

OK, I checked it out!

 

One arch is the tunnel via which the stream exits the city

 

 

The other isn't a door at all, but another arch.

 

 

It gives access to this little room on the battlements. Lots of fortified windows so you can snipe at attackers.

 

 

Would be a pretty nice piece of defensive design, if the entrance wasn't outside the drawbridge. As it ism any attacker that siezes the  outer defences can use this to attack defenders inside the drawbridge from a position of advantage.  I think I want a word with Balgruuf's city architect.

 

In any case, all these statics are placed by Skyrim.esm, so almost certainly in the base game.

Painstakingly tweaking a new ENB for this lovely vampire lady after completely redoing my mod list again. Believe it or not, this is only the first 400ish mods. There's another 500, or so to be installed... That fucking grass has got to go, but collisions are working perfectly.

 

I'm in love with this armor set. So many combinations!

Just a little too much glossiness... This is what happens when you can't remember if a higher reflection value = more glossy, or less glossy.

 

But who really cares when you're getting ravaged by a rogue tentacle?

I'm really pleased with the way Falkreath turned out.

 

Glorious 4k pines and a complete overhaul of every grave stone in the game.

 

At one point, I had installed the LE port of Pfuscher's Parallax meshes/textures, but I ditched the ridiculous 8k stuff and settled on a mix of 2k and 4k, combined with vivid landscapes, and Skyrim 2017 parallax.  Yes, my rig can easily handle 8k, but my eyes can't tell the difference, and who the fuck needs 8k clutter?

 

The result pretty much speaks for itself. I get a constant 60fps even in heavily-modded towns like Falkreath, and it still looks beautiful. Skyrim 2017 Parallax let me ditch about 60 other texture mods, and I traded them for stuff like WizKid's Farmhouses, Imperial Forts, Etc. which look a thousand times better than my old textures.
