Note: if the facial expressions appear on everyone else during sex but your own player character, you simply forgot to choose a moan voice pack for your character during character creation. Simply Esc > Edit Appearance > Finish > click the button next to "Moan Voice Pack" to shuffle and pick what you want. - The facial expressions will increase in intensity as the characters get closer to cum, finally resulting in their ‘orgasm faces’ (eyes rolled back etc) - Mouth movements will sync with the sex moans. - Improve the sex action menu and reduce scrolling by adding new quick access buttons for the major categories of sex positions. Also, split the undressing and bondage options (a major cause of the endless scrolling) into a side menu and make these options more visual. - Add auto scaling for the Mod Manager and Select City menus, so that thing no longer get cut out of the screen for less common screen dimensions like 4:3 and 16:10. - Fix some problems with the textured maps added in v2.18 (most importantly, the unneccessary and time-consuming map regeneration after every scene that includes sex). Thank you so much everyone for your incredible support since my post on Saturday about The $500 Milestone and LifePlay 3.0 (AI and Interaction Overhaul). I genuinely could never have imagined that the target could be reached in less than a week (3 days and 20 hours to be exact)! And I'm thankful for the trust that both my new and existing patrons have put in my ability to take this project to the next level. As promised, now that the milestone has been reached, from now on I will be able to treat LifePlay as a part-time job and dedicate at least 30 hours a week (or 60 hours each update) to working on it. More importantly, as soon as v2.19 (Sex Expressions and UI) is released this weekend, I will immediately start working on LifePlay 3.0. This AI and Interaction Overhaul, as described in my previous post, will be completed over 5 updates finishing on 2 May, scheduled for release as follows: 7 March: v3.0 Beta 1 21 March: v3.0 Beta 2 4 April: v3.0 Beta 3 18 April: v3.0 Beta 4 2 May: v3.0 Stable I will post more details about exactly what new features from the AI and Interaction Overhaul can be expected in each update one week before the respective ETA's above. Similar to the character model overhaul last year, even though the first 4 updates of this overhaul are marked as 'beta' (meaning some WIP stuffs and some possible bugs), the aim is to keep the game as playable as possible during this 'beta' period and allow players to test the new features from the overhaul right away so that they can be improved and polished by the time v3.0 Stable comes around. Feedback: I spend a day with a girl and she introduces me to 6 new contacts each day??? Way too excessive! Then she gets mad if I don't add all of them to my contacts list. Events get interrupted by different events which get interrupted by different events. For example, if you are on a date with someone, certain events should be blocked. This problem destroys what little immersion there is in the game. All events should have trigger conditions. Screen text overwriting other screen text, especially in the upper left side of the screen. Makes it very difficult to read. City map is very difficult to understand and navigate, especially for players new to the game. I would love to see a dropdown list of all locations with location name and venue type. I can then click on the location and move there. Need a "quick sleep" option. Currently, I have to mess with the time multipliers to speed it up and then re-adjust them back to normal after sleep. Very annoying and cumbersome. Dates and NPCs give negative relationship stats for the silliest of things - going to the bathroom, buying stuff at the store, etc. Tutorial needs a lot more work. Needs a real business management framework. 3.0 - if everything you list will be added then that addresses the rest of my complaints and concerns. Keep up the great work! 1

If you're doing this while the game's running, you need to Esc > Mod Manager > Confirm for the changes to take effect. 1

It will lay the important foundations for the whole overhaul: - Implement a multi-threading system for the game. In general, multi-threading is an important back-end feature to optimize performance anyway, but specifically with regards to the v3.0 overhaul, multi-threading is pretty much required so that all our sophisticated AI calculations can take place completely 'behind the scenes' and not cause lags with 3d interactions and animations the player is seeing on screen. This is the foundation for the 'AI' aspect of the v3.0 overhaul. - Add all 3d spaces for the rest of the location types in game (~80 of them in total!). This is the foundation for the 'Interaction' aspect of the v3.0 overhaul because NPCs and the daily activity animations need proper 3d spaces for all location types to be placed in. - Add any new furniture and other objects required to make the 3d spaces above, since the current selection is only intended for bedrooms. - Add an 'auto-distribute presets' system so that modders can start making presets right away for the different location types, so that community-made presets will be picked up and used by the game in addition to the vanilla presets that I've made myself. - In summary, v3.0 Beta 1 will still play a lot like v2.19 gameplay-wise (it's mostly just laying the foundation, Beta 3 and 4 will experience the most dramatic changes in gameplay), but all the 2d backgrounds for non-bedroom locations will have been replaced by full 3d areas. Additional Feedback: Add an "Instant Travel" option in the Options menu for those of us who are tired of waiting while our character portrait travels to different areas of the map. I'm thinking two options - #1 Instant Travel with time passage and #2 Instant Travel without time passage (cheat). Add a quest for incest with family members/relatives with goals/milestones to get the player there Add an option to turn off your phone temporarily to block calls and the ability to filter what calls you will currently accept. Some days I just want to focus on building one of my businesses and get constantly interrupted by calls to the point of it driving me insane. Turn sex into a mini game where you have orgasm progress bars for all participants - NPCs have different likes and fetishes which affect the progress bar as well as many other factors Need a lot more default hair color options Add a few additional options such as NPC perks - Nympho (loves sex and wants it all the time), Drunk (wants alcohol all the time and loves getting drunk), Dance Machine (loves dancing and going to nightclubs), etc. This would give a lot more immersion and uniqueness to NPCs in the game beyond the typical stats. Bugs: On nearly every activity, there is a receptionist/server where you are given the option to slip her a note with your phone number. This event triggers in MANY inappropriate places. NPCs giving negative relationship stats doing activities where they have a high skill in. For example, I took a date dancing (NPC had a high dance skill) and got negative stats. All NPCs assume you are bisexual and act as if you are bisexual. There is an option in the Options menu to block gay content but it doesn't fully address the issue. The number of contacts people introduce you to needs to be toned down severely. Perhaps add a multiplier option in Options? It really shouldn't be directly tied to the interpersonal skill. The player always sleeps a set amount of hours. I want my PC to only sleep until his energy level is maxed (by default). The sex animations scenes are very well done! Thank you for your hard work and dedication to this project!

Do you expect us to remember "likes dancing" "likes drinking" "likes socializing but not going to the loo" for each friend and acquaintance? - my char has high submissiveness, and kept going out with dominant perverts. Guess who kept having to choose every little detail of each and every sex scene? Me. I'd much prefer a system like in "GirlLife" etc, where you can kinda influence what will happen through dialogue, but once the sex starts I just get to see porn, not this "sex simulator" bullshit like "undress this char, undress that char, choose position, rotate camera, choose another position". - it feels wrong to be playing a virgin student and one day just get the random impulse / suggestion to strip for money. I kinda kept expecting characters to force my char into prostitution, but besides one event where the guy will suggest you might dance. and having nonconsensual enabled, I could not find any content I'd call nonconsensual (at least, playing as a female. When I tried playing a male I got the option to drug and rape someone; the event does not be in the game if you're playing as the potential victim (or maybe I just got bored too quickly)). - the game needs more complex situations I think, and a way to deliver sex scenes without prompting the player what the scene should look like. 1
SkyBarbie Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Additional Bugs in 2.19 Karma is a mess with the current implementation. Relationship flags need to be set when a relationship is created. For example, if I have sex with a girl that has an open relationship with her boyfriend I get 4.80 negative karma. Open relationships are never checked. When a relationship is created it needs to either be flagged as "Open" or "Exclusive". Relationships are created on the fly. This creates multiple issues. I check in my Contacts list and date a girl that isn't in a relationship and when I am dating her, she introduces me to her boyfriend. This happens all the time. Every girl I date will eventually get a boyfriend. There is like a random chance of a boyfriend being generated with each girl I date. Not a good system! If I have sex with a girl that has a boyfriend, I get dinged with each instance. If I bang her three times during the date, I get 4.80 negative karma three separate times. Holy penalty!

This is the foundation for the new interaction system, especially with regards to getting rid of the whole 'visual novel' feel when a scene triggers, that will be implemented more in Beta 2 - 5. The vanilla presets included in the base game will continue to be quite simple visually to optimize performance and to save development hours for more crucial coding work towards AI and interaction systems, but I also added 240+ new objects to the game to design 3d spaces with and have coded in a new system that automatically picks up appropriately named lpworld preset files (either made by myself in the future or by modders from the community) and distributes them among the buildings on your map. Non-patrons can find this post on Discord.) Here is the list of the March commissions that I managed to get done in the first update of the month. The rest will come in v3.0 Beta 2 (21 March release). I actually planned to get all March commissions done in one update, but the interior design work took longer than I expected :P. Commissioned maps: all March commissions done and uploaded to the Mega folder - Allentown, PA - Cannock - Cedar City, UT - Derby - Saint George, UT (depending on the quality of the map data available on OpenStreetMap, you may need to use the 'Randomize Unknown Buildings' checkbox in the Select City menu for the map to be suitable for gameplay) Commissioned animations: 50% of March commissions done and added to the game. The game keeps wanting to add more and more and it is simply unmanageable! The game tries to introduce me to six new contacts per day. This is extremely excessive! If I played the game for two in-game months and accepted all new contacts I would end up with 360 contacts. What world do we live in? 1

(Maybe the game could have NPCs make suggestions (or try to force something), where the game asks a series of Y/N questions: "You find yourself staring at the bulge in his crotch. Rub it?" "You're dying to get at Annie's breasts. Try to take off her t-shirt and bra?" And if the partner is way more dominant than the PC, you sometimes don't get a choice. ... or maybe even a multiple-choice system (like in e.g. Splendid Ostrich's Newlife), where current lust level (and probably lewdness stats) affects what you can or won't do. 1

It will get rid of the whole 'visual novel' feel of gameplay and move towards a truly 3d lifesim gaming experience: - Taking any action with a building will now actually 'zoom in' to the building's interior (i.e. the interior presets added back in Beta 1) where you can see your character and NPCs doing things, i.e interacting with that building's furniture and other objects. There's a button to go back to the city map when you want to go somewhere else of course. - Controllable full 3d camera for both normal interaction (i.e. taking an action with a building) & during any scenes triggered, so that gameplay can flow smoothly between a normal activity and a triggered scene. No more of the 'watching the city map & progress bar, interrupted by random visual novel bits' feel. - Male and female poses & animations for many furniture & objects added so far in the game (sit on chairs, lie on beds, jog on treadmills, etc) so that characters don't just spawn inside the 3d building and stand there awkwardly. - Each NPC is now 'alive' and will be at some building somewhere on the map at any point of your playthrough. The sophisticated AI logic and dynamic NPC schedules will come in Beta 3 and 4. For Beta 2, each NPC's current location and current action will simply be completely random, just for the sake of making sure building interiors are populated with people whereever you go. - In summary, Beta 2 is still a Work-In-Progress beta update as part of our five-update v3.0 overhaul but gameplay-wise it will start to feel like the full 3d lifesim experience that 3.0 is aiming to be, just without the AI logic to make sure NPC's current location and action make sense (In Beta 2 it's just random, you're likely to catch a NPC in a weird place at a weird hour of the day). The scenes will no longer be 'visual novel-esque but instead blend smoothly with the normal interactions and the sex scenes, but because I will still have to go through the hundreds of existing lpscene scene scripts to add new API functions for things like headtracking and walking towards a certain character (will do this in Beta 3 or 4), some scenes may feel a bit 'awkward' for now (characters making wrong eye contact, characters teleporting in, etc) - The rest of the March commissions from patrons and contributors - Bug fixes and other improvementsEstimated Release Date: Saturday, 21 March
vinfamy Posted March 18, 2020 Author Posted March 18, 2020 Preview Screenshots for v3.0 Beta 2 Here are some sneak peek screenshots of some of the new 3d interiors added in Beta 1, now being populated with NPCs who animate and interact with furniture and other objects. For Beta 2, their behavior is completely random still - doing random things with random objects, talking to random other NPCs etc - the more sophisticated AI stuffs will come in Beta 3 and 4. More importantly, you may notice that the action menu in each of the screenshots - which means that you're no longer just watching the map and progress bar, instead you have full control over the camera to watch everything happening at your current location, and the transition between a normal activity and a triggered scene is now quite smooth, with scenes now also having free camera. So, here are the links for those wanting to help beta-test this version (or just really impatient). If you're not interested in beta-testing the game and are not super impatient to try out the new content in this version, it's recommended to just wait a bit more for the final v3.0 Beta 2 releases. The sophisticated AI logic and dynamic NPC schedules will come in Beta 3 and 4. - WIP stuffs and Transitional Issues as This Update Is Just the Second Part of the Wider Five-Update Overhaul: gameplay-wise it will start to feel like the full 3d lifesim experience that 3.0 is aiming to be, just without the AI logic to make sure NPC's current location and action make sense. No navmesh (basically invisible pointers on the ground to tell the AI where it's safe to walk on) yet also, so characters will teleport between object interaction points for now with no walking in between yet. Not a huge variety of daily activity animations yet also, these will come in the future. - The rest of the March commissions from patrons and contributors - Bug fixes, modders' requests (Actor.setMorphValue(morph, value)) and other improvements
