The Man in Black Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 I'm having a really weird issue. Â Whenever I start or end a SexLab animation, my screen briefly goes black. It does this regardless of which mod I use to start the scene, regardless of whether I turn SL's MCM starting fade to black to on, off, or blur. The scene plays as normal, but the fade is really breaking my immersion. Â I have narrowed it down to something in the stock list for Next Generation Visual Overhaul (https://loadorderlibrary.com/lists/next-generation-visual-overhaul-ngvo), as it is still happening when my list is nothing but NVGO (with the nude options enabled), plus SexLab and any mod to trigger a SL animation. But I can't figure out what mod or settings inside that list is the problem. Â What could be causing this? I'm stumped.
asianboy345 Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 (edited) I'm trying to get an Ostim + SL setup going, with Sexlab to Ostim addon as well. So Ostim handles the human scenes while SL handled the rest This is SL 1.63 btw, I'm on Skyrim SE version 1.5.97.  Using only Pandora, I ran into a weird issue. All animations in terms of walking, running, combat and even Ostim scenes work well. However, SL Creatures animations is the only one with issues. The scene "starts" but the actors are placed on top of each other and continue their idle stance. They're not T posing, but not animating either. The sounds play, and expressions play, and Spectator Crowd recognized that a scene has started, but animation does not play.  For those who have successfully installed a similar setup, how did you do it? And did you used FNIS + Nemesis instead? I remembered that I was able to successfully setup this same exact thing with Pandora in the past, so maybe there's something going on with the newest version  EDIT: I was able to fix it by disabling a few Ostim animation packs and reducing the overall amount of animations. Also reduced the SL install to the bare minimum. Will do more testing. Maybe this is just the case of Pandora and Skyrim in general not able to handle too much animations at the same time   EDIT 2: turns out, it wasn't an animation limit issue, just the Sexlab to Ostim mod's latest version. Seems like it no longer work well and interfere with all SL scenes somehow, even when the checkbox is off. Unfortunate Edited January 1, 2025 by asianboy345

Figured it may be one of the camera mods but it still triggers without them. Hoping someone with more knowledge can answer.

I'm sure it is my fault but Sexlab P+ essentially doesn't register the correct folder so it will always retrieve 0 animations. I probably didn't install correctly but whatever. Well it is finally fixed. And I can finally go to sleep knowing that I wasted so much time all because of one mod. Sarcasm: I am so glad I decided to uninstall LE skyrim for AE skyrim and just spent 6 hours downloading everything and then spending another 12 hours trying to get the damn thing to work. Â Can confirm, having nothing but grief with P+ after several uninstalls, wipes and cleans. Â The most frustrating part is that everything pretty much works and functions, even says the Animations are loaded, but they don't play. Â I'm assuming it must be some sort of incompatibility between the v166b and P+ versions, so beware that possibility.

I will be corrected if wrong, but you can’t run SexLab and SLP+ together. Reading helps.Â

Yes - you are, yet still you ask about SL+ issue in SLF thread, which (as I believe) in an issue in itself. If you wish to be sure that issue originates to SLF - you have to also remove SL+ from your list while performing tests.

I'll try to remove SL+ and see where that goes I guess, I just didn't want to risk completely screwing up the Data folder with outdated tool additions like the older Matchmaker plugin if I didn't have to.  Edit: Yep, same thing with standard Sexlab Framework, or do I have to reinstall the Animations BACK to SLAL from SLSB packs??  Edited January 2, 2025 by King Doggo Images.

If so then install slal packs via FNIS, old fashion way, just for test sake. Â edit:Â Â Â and of course, register them with animation loader, also old fashion. Edited January 2, 2025 by PippinTom

Does SLF work with Pandora or does it absolutely positively require FNIS?  As for Animation Loader - I don't use that one, I use Open Animation Replacer.. Am I going to need to swap that as well?  Apologies for the questions - Won't this fuck up the Data folder if I keep swapping programs?  Edit: Okay, SLF doesn't seem to detect SLSB's or SLAL's with Pandora, guess that answers one question..  Edit: Oh right, I need the SLAL Loader for vanilla SLF - Installed that, loaded Animations aaaannddd....  Still standing upright not doing anything when initializing Matchmaker.  Pandora *says* they're registered.. Honestly I have no clue.    I'm sorry, I'm not installing FNIS to see if that is the fix - The program is deprecated and difficult to get rid of once it's in your game. If others can get SLF to work without FNIS then I'm going to assume that isn't my issue here.  Edit: Removed most subsidiary SLF mods, registered only a few animations - SLAL records them into SLF - Matchmaker still shows actors standing still.  Gonna completely uninstall/reinstall of all SLF content, just going to take a break since this is a long project and I'm 5 hours in on day 3.  Edited January 3, 2025 by King Doggo

As in name SLAL - sexlab animation loader - it serves as bridge between SLAL PACKS and SLF... If I'm not mistaken. 2

Appears that the mod scene seems to still be very fluid, the answer may be just to wait for more stability to concrete itself.  In any case, reinstalling Sexlab for the fourth time brings me back to square one - Everything initializes perfectly with the animation loader identifying and categorizing the animation packs, yet the actors don't seem to animate.  Considering I don't intend to risk using FNIS and continue with Pandora, I can only assume that the only alternate avenue is to make P+ work.  I appreciate the help regardless, modding is a fun side project in and of itself, it just sucks when everything is green yet flounders at the finish line, but I feel that's par for the course for Bethesda games.  The Engine is showing its age with all the required work needed, gosh, my modlist approaches 20+ just with Engine fixes, in-game bugfixes and UI fixes/extensions alone.  In any case, at least I tried. For those of you that may have the same issue, I have posts over in the P+ thread. Edited January 3, 2025 by King Doggo
Ashal Posted January 3, 2025 Author Posted January 3, 2025 By most reports I've heard it works fine with Pandora or Nemesis. Â If Pandora is reading the FNIS lists fine like your screenshot suggests, and they still just stand next to each other in the game. Your problem is with your installation of Pandora with your mod manager, causing the behavior files it generates to not make it into your running game. The Pandora generated files either aren't making it to the right folder, you are using or installed Pandora wrong, or the generated files are being overwritten by something else in your vortex/mo2 load order. 2

I installed Pandora into Vortex and created an Output folder in the Data section as it asked for one, perhaps I screwed something up there. I'll have to investigate further.  I appreciate it, I'll report back if I find anything sus.  Edit: It was Pandora  Ensure that if you install Pandora via Vortex, the mod deploys to your Skyrim Data directory, as per this screenshot below; Spoiler   See to that - When you double-click on the mod in your Mods Section, it reveals the GUI on the right - Scroll down to "Mod Type" and clarify if it deploys as such; Spoiler   And - As I said before above - Make sure you're running the .exe that is in your Skyrim Data directory!! I've been running it from the Vortex Mod's folder for days, not knowing the setup was completely wrong! Spoiler    Edited January 3, 2025 by King Doggo Resolved! 1

Thormix Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 When i try to enable SexLab Inflation Framework game just crash.
