SexLab SE - Sex Animation Framework v1.66b - 01/18/2024

Can anyone confirm any of the following?

  • Does SL 1.66b include the changes from SLAS?  (Sexlab Anim Searcher)
  • If not, is the latest SLAS compatible with SL 1.66b?
  • Is there a version of SexLab Utility Plus (not SUM) that includes SLAS's changes and works with SL 1.66b?

I looked on GitHub and the date 1.66b was published here and I cannot find the changelog for 1.66b anywhere.  The last changelog on Github appears to be for 1.65.

I love P+ but the last time I installed everything I spent a whole week trying to get P+ to adjust for high heels to no avail.  Apparently P+ uses the old HDT HHS script rather than NiOverride, and that causes issues.  The only feature of P+ I care about is the reduced anim start time, which is what SLAS provides.  I'm just not clear on if it has been integrated into SL already, etc.

Ahh, could that be it? Does SLF work with Pandora or does it absolutely positively require FNIS?

As for Animation Loader - I don't use that one, I use Open Animation Replacer.. Am I going to need to swap that as well?

Apologies for the questions - Won't this fuck up the Data folder if I keep swapping programs?

Edit: Okay, SLF doesn't seem to detect SLSB's or SLAL's with Pandora, guess that answers one question..

Edit: Oh right, I need the SLAL Loader for vanilla SLF - Installed that, loaded Animations aaaannddd....

Still standing upright not doing anything when initializing Matchmaker.

Pandora *says* they're registered.. Honestly I have no clue.

I'm sorry, I'm not installing FNIS to see if that is the fix - The program is deprecated and difficult to get rid of once it's in your game. If others can get SLF to work without FNIS then I'm going to assume that isn't my issue here.

Edit: Removed most subsidiary SLF mods, registered only a few animations - SLAL records them into SLF - Matchmaker still shows actors standing still.

Gonna completely uninstall/reinstall of all SLF content, just going to take a break since this is a long project and I'm 5 hours in on day 3.

How were you able to get Pandora to notice FNIS Mods on it? I don't see them when I ran Pandora.

So if i need the latest SexLab version i need to update my game to 1.6.1170? (from 1.6.640)
OMG. Who had this great idea?
So i delete my ~200 mods who not updated to 1170 just for a simple Sex mod?
Now i undertand why many people go to OStim

Thanks -.-'

Skyrim modding is definetly dead for me.

Lmfao. If you got that that many mods not updated then good luck. I’m on 1170 with @500 mods and working fine *shrug*.

I'm afraid I don't quite get your issue. The older Sexlab versions are available, the information is in the first post. If you want to stay on SSE 1.6.640 then that's your choice and that's fine. If you want to use a mod that specifically requires the latest Sexlab version because that mod was designed around SSE 1.6.1170 then yes, you have more decisions to make. Divines know we've all been there.

If you do decide to update, there's a reasonable chance you won't have to get rid of all your current mods. Good luck, whichever way you play it.

It's true. Only SL does this. No other mod has ever released the most recent mod version for the most recent game version exclusively. It's almost like that newer mod version was made specifically to support that newer game version.

If you have an already stable modded setup stay there, if you want to update then do it knowing it takes a bit of time and you gotta know what you're doing. When I switched from 640 to 1170 it took me like half an hour in my almost 1k mods (because not every mod in there is version specific and I also removed and changed a bunch of other mods unrelated to the 1170 update).

OK so I am sure you have all heard this one before, but I am having fits trying to get sexlab to work on Skyrim SE, I downloaded the latest SE version (using Nexus Mod Manager) and all of it's requirements and nothing, showed up in the MCM but it would not register any animations, and no events would trigger. Spent several hours shuffeling mods trying to get it working but no luck, then I tried the latest AE version, still does not work but at leased it registers animations and says that it is active. Will the AE version work on SE or am I barking up the wrong tree? If so will SE mods work with the AE sexlab?

Don't guess and check which version of the executable you have. That's why each SL file mentions a game version in particular. Then get the corresponding SL and requirements.

I am absolutely certain I have SE, never upgraded to AE, so unless steam started giving away free DLC in the background without telling me there is no way.  Well I finally got sexlab (the AE version) to work which is weird. The SE version kept throwing in game error codes saying it was missing/outdated and nothing would load. Still having an issue though, I cannot get any version of Aroused or ZAZ to work which are also throwing all kinds of Vortex error codes. Defeat and Radiant Prostitution are confirmed working (SE versions) even with the Vortex errors messages due to no arousal mod. Nothing else working yet but I am still working on it.

The version of the game is independent of DLC acquisition. Unless you've done extra steps to avoid automatic updates Steam will update your game to the latest version available. Stop guessing. Check the product version of your SkyrimSE.exe file and get the corresponding SL version and its requirements.

Depends on what's the error specifically, likely the missing or outdated PapyrusUtil and Sexlab DLL because you're using the wrong version of SL or Address Library. How do you solve this? By checking which executable version you own and installing the correct versions of the mods for said version.

Depending on the Aroused mod you're talking this shouldn't happen. Aroused redux has no DLL so game versions don't matter, OSL Aroused has a DLL but it should be compatible with most game versions. As long as you're not using any Aroused from LE you should be fine. ZAZ is exactly the same, unless you're using LE files it should work. If you mean Vortex is telling you these files are form 43 instead of 44 just google that stuff and read some. I'm so tired of that warning which gets in the way of actual issues.

Version 1.6.1170 is what it is showing, did not update per say but I just got a new computer so when I reinstalled it might have auto updated. So do I need AE versions of everything now?

You need mods for version 1.6.1170. Yes. SE and AE aren't relevant terms here. You didn't acquire the AE DLC, your game is still called Special Edition on Steam. The version of the executable is all that matters.

Oh OK that explains a lot, thanks a million. I thought it was the AE DLC itself that changed everything.

Does this mod work using Pandora instead of FNIS? If not is it a possibility in the future? I've been wanting to switch to Pandora but some of my mods need FNIS.

It works. It has a fake fnis esp to spoof other mods.

Hmm yeah I thought it'd work but I couldn't make the animations work with Pandora. The characters are just standing inside of each other while the sounds play.

I've been using sexlab p+ for a little while without issue, but now, with a new save, in the sexlab mcm when i enable creature animations i get a couple warnings saying "It is no longer possible to register animations through the Papyrus API. Use the SceneBuilder Tool to generate .slr files instead" and "Default Voices are initialized through .yaml files included in the SexLab download. Installation through the Papyrus interface is no longer supported" I already have the SLSB files fore my animations and everything, but no animations ever register in sexlab anymore. Additionally in the MCM for aroused creatures, there are no creatures regestered for me to toggle on or off... Any help would be greatly appreciated

Maybe you should ask in the Sexlab P+ thread because there is no problem with this mod

I just reinstalled sexlab and that fixed the creatures problem, (which is strange cause I've done that like 3 times now) but no luck on animations, I'll try reinstalling p+ aswell

Wrong or no Address Library version installed. There are 2 main files. Make sure you're downloading the correct one.

It could also be wrong SL version because "latest" means nothing here. It must match your executable version, being the latest doesn't mean it will do that depending on which version of the game you have.

Just to answer my own question for the benefit of others in the future:

  • Sexlab 1.66b does NOT include the code from Sexlab Anim Searcher
  • The latest release of SLAS is still compatible with Sexlab 1.66b.  Just install SLAS after Sexlab and overwrite when asked.

With a large number of animations, it cuts down on the start time drastically.  It still takes a few seconds for actor repositioning and such, and Sexlab 1.66b's fade-to-black doesn't kick in as quickly as it should so it doesn't hide half of it (so I just turned the fade back off) but total start time for animations with SLAS went from around 14-17 seconds down to 3-6.

Until P+ supports correcting for RaceMenu Heels, unless you're planning to keep your character barefoot or wearing flat shoes, I highly recommend SLAS.
