[mod] Stellaris Sexy Xenos and more (SSX) 1.11.8

Recommended Posts

Hey OP, I've used the mod before, it's fantastic and we all love it. That said, please fix the virus freak-out I get from Windows Defender. Despite what others have posted, I and I imagine lots of other people aren't super into the idea of downloading a possible trojan. (I hope this doesn't come off as rude or demanding but it's for sure a red flag for a lot of folks).

Ok so i have moved the mod files from this mod to the very bottom of the load order and still no go i am starting to think i am doing something wrong please any help would be great. if you want i can post images of my current load order and maybe that will help.

Ok so i just disabled all mods except for this mod and its requirements and pops still won't become the sex priest so that leave me with the idea that it is a bug with this mod please any help fixing it would be great.

Yeah ... no.

Pop management in stellaris sometimes is weird.

So weird there sometimes are unemployed pops BECAUSE there are open jobs.

That is a problem caused by stellaris, not the mod.

IIRC there are some mods that try to fix that in the workshop. Glavius Ultimate AI for instance but I don't know whether it is updated yet.

The Paradox launcher is broken. Not just a little bit but utterly.

For me some mods are not shown, other mods that are not there anymore are shown, mod load order is not saved into a .json as it is supposed to be, rearranging mods in the load order is finicky at best, mods correctly downloaded via steam are shown as broken, .mod files manually saved are altered by the launcher if a mod of the same name once a long long looong time ago was subscribed to...

For instance I have a different launcher that tells me I have 196 mods and 55 are active whereas the paradox launcher tells me I have 256 mods and 51 are active...

Here is a launcher for paradox games that is vastly superior to the paradox launcher.

Unfortunately the launcher of paradox can't be circumvented entirely as it needs to "approve" the mods before they are truly active. But as far as I know it should™ be only a visual bug in the launcher that some mods are missing there i.e. if they are activated in the other superior launcher they should™ be active.

For launching you can start the stellaris.exe in the steam folder directly. And you definitely should as the launcher is hot garbage.

Still relevant after nearly two years.

It got improved since then but still is FAR inferior to the alternative launchers.

I don't think that particular link is leading to the best alternative launcher anymore, though.

Way better than the paradox launcher still.

And btw. Glavius Ultimate AI is not updated and works with 3.0 yet.

There should™ be alternatives, though.

hey so i am having a issue where when i build a love temple my pops won't become a sex priest does anyone here know how i can fix this.

The love temples aren't working for me either. Pops simply won't work it, even if its the only specialist job available the new pop goes straight to worker class and ignores it.

Its likely conflicting with another mod, since I am using a lot of them (80+), or the fact this is a new major update in which Paradox messed with the pop system... but I just wanted to point out that this is happening to more then 1 person.

Took a glance at the code:

Nope. I found nothing wrong there.

Meaning that for some people the love temples are not working is not a problem caused by this mod.

The only thing is I found

		modifier = {
			factor = 0
			jobs_save_goods = yes
		}

in the sex priest job which I'm not 100% sure about what it does or supposed to do.

Maybe Toronam can give insights on that front.

As a test you can delete those lines and see if they do decide to work.

i think the code "factor = " is something to do with how much the pops will prioritize that job but i don't know for sure since i am not really a expert in code i only know a very small amount.

Correct.

It is "only" that I'm unsure about what "jobs_save_goods" is.

Could be a remnant of the old (pre 2.2) system.

Could be a modifier that is set somewhere in the policies.

Could be it is a leftover of a test script by toronam.

Could be it is a signal for the aliens to invade earth ...

Yeah I was afraid of that. It could be anything that is conflicting with the mod. This is odd, because in the many years I've used this mod I've never had an issue with it. Its likely due to the newest update and the other mods trying to adapt to it that is causing the issues then.

Thanks for looking into it! I'll see if I can figure out which mod is causing the problem, but it could be anything.

Err ...

The error is *drumroll* using Windows Defender to begin with.

My antivirus scanner did not sound any alarms after downloading that file. I am using it in my current stellaris game.

dismissing people for their concerns with a mod and an anti-virus doesn't exactly sound like A+ help. Make a mod that doesn't trigger an alert for a trojan from an anti-virus. Why should people trust that the mod doesn't have a virus? No one is going to put trust in you because you think you know better.

Using Windows Defender and relying on it is ... let's say debatable.

It is the worst antivirus choice by a considerable margin and produces many false positives.

With astounding sureness Windows Defender finds a trojan in many mods. Be it stellaris, skyrim, farming simulator, Euro Truck Simulator ...

Plus I won't "make a mod that doesn't trigger an alert".

I have and had nothing to do with development of this mod and as said Windows Defender is prone to sounding an alarm.

i agree with you Kreist i use McAfee and this mod is not marked as a virus and i also know that windows defender will sometimes delete random files for me anyway hence why i use McAfee now instead.

Virustotal readout:

Nothing across the board.

It seems that pretty much only Windows Defender miraculously finds a trojan.

Hence THAT is the problem and not the file.

For antivirus and security software there are "many fish in the sea".

One should never succumb to laziness in that regard and just use XYZ because it came to you without being asked.

For the cheapskates there are many actually free and good antivirus and/or security softwares out there but generally it is a good idea to register a paid one as it's usually faster with updates.
