Also, @hilme, do you think you could make a class out of it?

Hey what exactly do i need to do if i want to make this skin it's own standalone copy and past alternate Leper class? I LOVE Jiangshi designs and this art looks great. But if i understand it correctly, it has it's own animations so it won't be compatible with other Leper skins. If i rename it, and throw it into the mods folder, what other folders do i need to copy over from the Leper class and rename?

MUCH appreciated for any help! :D

well as am mostly ignored here I will answer anyway, what you need is "art" file set to use custom animations and also to as you say it "throw it into the mods folder" you need "project" file for you mod that is not hard to create just pick one from other mods and edit it for your mod and also if creator of original skin has made new animations dont try it to rename them if you dont know what you are doing

I hope this helps

I would suggest installing the mod manually.  Having many class mods hurts game stability.  Installing files manually helps.  Also easier for people just starting out.  You can refer to some of my posts on page 24 of this thread.

Basically, find what hero you want to duplicate.

Take the default leper and make a copy of it.  Rename it something else, say Jiangshi Leper.

Edit the new copy of the leper and change the files over to Jiangshi's.

Next the slightly more tricky part.  Remember if you mess anything up, you are okay because you are copying the original files and edited the duplicate.  You can always just delete to restore to default.

Go to audio\secondary_banks   Duplicate hero_leper and rename to your new Leper, lets say Jiangshi_Leper

Go to upgrades\heroes  Duplicate leper.upgrades and rename Jiangshi_Leper

There are obviously going to be some tradeoffs to this method.  The game will consider the hero in the "Jiangshi Leper" folder a new hero and not the Leper.  Anything related to the Leper such as quest pop-ups or trinkets exclusive to the leper wont work.

I generally only do this method for non-vanilla classes so I do not have said issues.  Should get you started on the right direction!

Cheers!

How much of this works for the GOG version of the game?

As that version does not support the latest version of say, Sunward Isles...

it support it,you just need to change the localization files yourself else you get Bluz strings
any mod made for the circus work on Gog,as long as they don't use the Circus gimmick like Daze, and so far i think none do

Does anybody know if there are any UI interface NSFW mods, and where to download them, specifically the menu frame during dungeon missions not the button icons. I saw some pic with the busts/idols on both ends of the dungeon menu with a different style (NSFW).

Well, there's a bunch of different kinds. Here's the one I specifically use:

side_decor.png.8e70da00938b1d398f02fbd8c8aa88e2.png

Save that picture with the filename "side_decor" and to the filepath: steam > steamapps > common > DarkestDungeon > panels

Guys i have a problem, all the skins I install have the same fuckin problem, my game doesnt replace the basic animations when I install a skin. I dont know what to do.

This depends on the type of skin you are installing. There are basic skins and there are replacers.

For basic skins, all you do is add a new folder to the appropriate hero's folder. So if you wanted a new basic hellion skin for example, you'd create a folder called hellion_E and add it in next to the others. You can more if you want. Examples of these would be the "porn skins" found on Nexus.

Replacers are a bit more intricate. All skins in the hero's folders share the same skeleton. Replacers change the skeleton in addition to the skin, allowing for new animations. Replacers will usually have files that edit the "fx" and "anim" folders, and without them the mod won't work. Because of how replacers work, you CANNOT have a replacer and a basic skin active at the same time. Examples of these would be Xelsword's skins.

All of the above is assuming you are trying to edit the game files manually. If you are trying to activate mods on Workshop, just make sure you are not trying to activate a replacer and a basic skin for the same hero. Load order won't matter, the replacer will cause the basic skin to become a jumbled mess of boxes.

I hope that helps.

Dan, you know how you made that "cute style" edit for the Harlot class? Could I possibly commission you to make an edit for The Picaroon in the same style?

I did not do the design, I just corrected it and increased more palettes; look at the credits there I put the links to the creators. That design was made by the user Wizard898 (edited face)

there are good replacements for the occultist; so I decided to adapt the new creation of anaertailin (occultist_miracle) to another new class created in steam
I also created 2 new palettes, I tried to correct the brightness on the skin, I still see a certain visual glitch that I could not correct
