Magic allowing Bondage Mittens patch for Devious Devices - Expansion (Versions 3.0 and 4.0)

I finally ended up upgrading to DD 4.0 and have uploaded a version of this mod that works with it.

Thanks for the thought as I apparently have been using your non-4.0 version without realizing it possibly had issues (if there were any I didn't really notice them).

 

I did go to update with your new file since I was mid-mod install anyway, and it seems your 4.0 version .esp accidentally has a whole bunch of extra masters added causing crashes on load due to missing masters.  Currently the file has 16 master files.

Sooo I just seen this nice mod (Thanks to your shameless self promotion :D) I want to include it into my running game and dont want to use loot again so I wont screw up my load order.

So my question is where do I place this mod in my load order ? Before or after the DD stuff ?

After DD stuff.

 

@CovertDemon Quick test with follower showed she can cast spells with mittens too. But i'm not sure this mod's responsible for that, not even armbinder seem to prevent follower's fighting.

Followers are not effected by bondage mittens, even in the default version. They'll use weapons and spell normally like the mittens aren't there.

 

 I'm guessing the Devious Device creators chose not to have them effected due to how script heavy the mittens are or due to a script conflict. Best you can do is just role play: lock them in the mittens then never provide them with a weapon. They still have a habit of going punch crazy though, as Skyrim NPC AI always goes melee berserker when out of mana/projectiles.

Armbinders and other "Heavy Bondage" devices are glitchy on followers in general. They often forget to animate right after a scene change, will sperg out in combat if they have a weapon in their inventory, etc.

I came across this mod while doing a general 'cast magic while in devices' search, and it seems to be directly in the vein of what I seek. I'm looking to play as a conjurer bound in things like a straitjacket or armbinder and float around casting via nipples, but I'm surprised to find very little support for such a thing.

 

I wouldn't entirely expect the animations and scripts to all play nice out of the box, but I'm wondering how viable that could be; since you have toggled casting for the mittens, would toggling them for the armbinder be straightforward or does DD's bound combat support conflict with that particular option? And/or would the floating animation be compatible with the armbinder pose- it seems to simply modify the pose for existing animations, but that notion just comes from my limited understanding of the animation system in skyrim.

It would need to set new casting animations, which are basically "no animations at all". Maybe a feint glow through armbinder but completely optional. I use Strange Runes https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/93199?tab=files which should integrate automatically. No moving of player skeleton joints, not even to match the armbinder because there are tight and more loose ones. And maybe you want it to support yokes and straightjacket too.

 

I think destruction spells cast like that would be more unimmersive though. They are much more of type you expect to be channelled from the hands. But a simple utility/defensive spell like healing yourself or conjuring a minion nearby sound ok.

I utilize nexus mod manger and I can't seem to get this to work, despite basically every other loverslab mod working, and working well (much to my character's annoyance). I can use plug into adjust load order, but ti does not want to go above the Devious Devices mods as you said to. Advice?

just install it after you installed DDa,x,i via NMM

I have the esp just below all other DD mods (more precise: below all DD related mods) , but I guess it doesn't realy matter (because it's merged into the bash patch on my setup)

(you won't be able to move an esp over an esm with NMM plugin list)

what exactly doesn't work in your game?

Northing. . . or rather it all works, cept this one mod. Gonna keep messing with it and see if i can get it work, likely a problem with the MK1 user.

Is it possible to get a version with weapons allowed? This mod would be great with bound weapons and the mage unarmed fist mods. I would also like to know how this was done, as I messed around in Ck a bit and manage to get weapons working with mittens but stopped after I requip a mitten.
